I can't seem to post it, but if you go to youtube and search Benavidez Round 1, you can see a trailer for a documentary they are making about Junior. I work with the team, so I'm biased, but he's a good kid, and works really hard. For his last fight, he donated a portion of his purse to the Children's Hospital and recently spoke at the onsite school there...he's just a humble kid who we hope has a bright future :)
Hand
I work with him. He's out because of his hand. He fought most of the fight in October with one hand, and has been rehabbing it. He had surgery a bit ago (6 weeksish?) and expects to be back in the gym pretty soon.
Back to the gym. Also, Junior doesn't have a personal page. There is someone impersonating him. He's not really the social media type. You can add his dad Jose Benavidez Sr or me Emily Pandelakis - we both post news about Junior too. His brother's fan page is David Benavidez as well.
Someone was here updating us on him. Sounded like someone who had connections with his camp but I forgot the name of the thread.

It was me... I'm PR for Team B. He has been resting his hand, but we expect him in the gym in one week... we'll put photos up on his Facebook once he's back. Also, we expect his younger brother, David, who is also a beast, to make his pro debut on July 20th in Mexico.
He was hurt.... he hurt his hand in his last fight in October 2012... it was injured previously and didn't heal properly. He had to have a couple surgeries with the most recent earlier this year. He had a pin put in his hand (then removed). He's been back in the gym about 6-8 weeks now and is scheduled to fight in Laughlin on November 16th. He is with Top Rank.
Benavidez is scheduled to fight June 8th in Vegas, the night before Pacquiao/Bradley. He did injure his hand and have surgery...he sparred yesterday for the first time since having the cast off, and training is going well. His facebook is facebook.com/josebenavidezjr - we keep that updated with all that's going on with him.
His brother David is fighting in Phoenix on 4/21 as well.
Benevedes is a good fighter and will probably be world champ but come on dude it's time you up your game from those 6 round fights. It's time for 10 rounds or people will start to compare you to The Charlie Z killer Deontay Wilder
Benavidez wants nothing more than to fight 10 round fights already. The last two have been scheduled for 8, then cut to 6 for TV time. The first thing he said in the dressing room after this last fight in Fresno is that he's done with these short fights. He spars for 12 round fights, and wants to fight more rounds.
Lost any respect for Beltran when he started working with an convicted steroid dealer. Next...
There was talk of Ray working with him, but he never did. The only strength coach he's worked with is Rob Garcia.
