So whats Going on with Jose Benavidez and Frankie Gomez? Any words?

So whats has happend with this 2? They have lost their hype. They were been groom to be the next big thing and now they been fighting scrubs and neither has fought this year! gomez has had numerous run ins with the law. recently he was caught with drugs the rumor was that he was considering retiring after his goldenboy contract ran out. he does not love boxing benavidez is always sparring with good fighters. that's where i've seen him look the best; in sparring on the internet with contenders, up and comers, champions. i would liek to see him at least scheduled for something. the guys do need to take a rest as well. with a schedule like his there's a chance he has not taken a month from training for years.

Benavidez is scheduled to fight June 8th in Vegas, the night before Pacquiao/Bradley. He did injure his hand and have surgery...he sparred yesterday for the first time since having the cast off, and training is going well. Benavidez had a wrist injury and only got the cast off a few weeks ago. There were rumours about him being on the Pac/Bradley undercard, but it might be too soon. His younger brother David, who is only 15, is making local headlines at the moment for sparring with Kelly Pavlik for his Jaco combeack fight, and earlier sparring (and looking good) against Nobuhiro Ishida (the Japanese fighter who beat Kirkland). David Benavidez has his next amateur fight scheduled for April 21st, so I expect some news from Team Benavidez about Jose Jr's next fight after that. Like I said, maybe comeback on June 9th in Las Vegas. As for Frankie Gomez, no idea. He was scheduled to fight last September, but had to pull out with a hand injury. But those rumours about him hanging it up, because his heart is not in it anymore, are very worrying. One of my favourite prospects...

I dont know but they both had 5 fights last year, but haven't fought this year yet.
