this right here should end the thread/
Yup. GBP have already stated previously the fight would "definitely go ahead on X date" only to renege later down the line. Golovkin is 34 and lots of people complain he hasn't stepped up. BJS isn't great but it would unify the titles and no one can argue against that. It would also raise his profile even higher. Hopefully to the extent Canelo and GBP wouldnt be able to keep dodging.
What is this constant obsession with GGG being a hype job. He is 37 and 0 with 33 KO's. He just won a UD against the number 2 rated MW in the division.
Jacobs came into the fight with a significant height, reach ,weight (looked like a LHW) & age advantage. Even with all this working in his favor he was still out thrown, out landed and out boxed. Golovkin was more accurate in 9/12 rounds. He rocked Jacobs several times and knocked him down once. How can you describe Golovkins defence are terrible when Jacobs, who is known for his punching power didnt hurt or bother GGG once ?
Youre trying to convince yourself lol, G was exposed and everybody knows it.
What do you genuinely think Jacobs did to deserve the win in the fight?
Was it fight on the back foot most of the night and rarely be the aggressor?
Was it throwing less ?
Was it being less accurate with the punches he did throw ?
Maybe it was being knocked down or rocked on several occasions ...
The first time Lil G stepped up and fought against a semi elite MW in Jacobs he looks slow, uncoordinated, and just generally sh*t. :lol1:
Against stationary targets like Martin Murray and Macklin he looks decent but hes already made to look silly by Bute in the amateurs, Ouma, Willie Monroe and Kell Brook. These guys lit him up, and the same thing happened against Jacobs.
Just terrible, a hype job being compared to hopkins when he hasnt even beaten anyone. :lol1:
Canelo and Chris Eubank Jnr will smoke this dude, mark my words.
Hes extremely fortunate that he never fought Eubank, it would have been a massacre.
I'm sorry but this post is laughable. Made to look silly by Bute in the amateurs ? Was that when Golovkin KO'd the significantly bigger fighter ...
Yeah he was definitely exposed by Monroe Jnr - dropping him twice in the first 3 rounds and causing Monroe himself to call it off in the 6th.
And who can forget how he almost lost to Brook ! Despite nearly dropping him in the first. Breaking his orbital in the second and Brooks corner throwing the towel in the 5th to stop the beatdown.
Wasn't Ouma hospitalised after their bout?
You dont like GGG. Thats fair enough. But to call him exposed and then list 4 fighters who all lost via stoppages to him as an example is beyond ridiculous.
next day weigh in only applies to ibf. stop crying. danny won 8-4.
to be the man @ 160 you need to go see danny
It applied to GGG. Jacobs wanted to fight for that belt. Implied all along he had every intention of adhering to the same day weigh in. This in itself forced GGG to be up early for the second weigh in and stick to the weight limit when Jacobs knew all along he was going to ignore it and come in at 180. Even his nutritionist has said the same. If you dont think thats underhand I dont know what is.
Let all the commies box in commie land and spare the USA.
What a stupid thing to say. How is Golovkin an "invader" ? Because he has came to the USA, worked hard as a professional and generated tens of millions of pounds for the economy ...
If GGG power isnt what it was made out to be I wonder what he thinks about his own. He came into the ring visibly at least 10lbs heavier than GGG and spent the whole night on the back foot. Landed a few power punches of his own none of which hurt GGG and then got knocked down himself.
after getting his ass handed to him that horribly,, lmao
Yup, out throwing, out landing, dropping and winning against a bigger, younger, faster and taller man is definitely getting your ass handed to you.
Last I looked fights are scored by rounds??? You know what that means??? You have to judge the fight by 3 minute increments at a time.
Yeah they are scored by round & Golovkin outlanded in 9/12 rounds. Jacobs doesn't even want a rematch himself and he definitely wont be ready by June
Big GGG fan but Lemiuex probably does have a slight edge in that one punch KO power. That said, he swings pretty wild and his technique is nowhere near as good as Golovkin... who can generate similar power with both hands from various angles. Either way it doesn't matter. No one (including Lemiuex) is making the argument he could beat GGG as he was already comprehensively beaten.
GGG's undercards suck. I guess he wants every penny to himself. Hope they let us know what time exactly the fight starts so I don't waste my time watching junk.
Roman Gonzalez is fighting (& Andy Lee) the under-card isn't that bad. Granted I'm from the UK so it doesn't cost anything here (I pay the £12 a month Boxnation sub anyway)
it was a couple of pounds man..... each division has a range, it is common as hell for 1 guy to be slightly larger than the other guy..... who fkn cares?
your guy is supposed to be a killer, right ?
Golovkin ran around for FOUR YEARS talking about 168, calling out Froch/Chavez in the process..... but now just a couple of pounds makes a difference, even at middleweight?
if that is true, then how the hell was Golovkin gonna handle Andre Ward?
making out like Jacobs is a monster, is a blatant admission that Golovkin is not who they said he was
#jacobs-toobigtoostrong
It was almost certainly not just "a couple of pounds". Jacobs looked like a LHW minimum. His nutritionist readily admitted Jacobs would be 180 ring walk.
And besides all that. GGG still beat him. So size difference or not he got the job done.
I still dont think he beats Ward. Ward is just too large.
