I have no problem with trash talking your opponent (Ali was obviously the best), but Toney is just a dick. How am I an asshole? Just cause Gatti wasn't a top notch fighter and people from that area like u can't admit it. I agree that Gatti was just about the most entertaining fighter around, and his heart was second to none, but lets be realistic. The best fighter he beat was Jesse James Leija.
Please Toney. Either come in and take care of business and show Peter what its like to be a pro, or have your ass dragged out of the ring and make way for the "nightmare". The last thing I want to see is a flabby James Toney winning an uninspiring decision against Peter, it will surely hurt the division. I thought it was clear in the fight against Wlad that Peter is one hell of a puncher and a truly tough man. If he has Manny Stewart in his corner, its Corrie Sanders all over again for Wlad. During that fight Stewart gave Wlad specific instructions and insight on the fight while Peter's corner was saying stuff like "go get him". Seriously, Manny Stewart is like having an ace up your sleeve. But back to the Peter. I really hope this guy wins cause the heavyweight division needs him. Is there a better way to stake his claim by knocking out one of the slickest boxers in the last 20 years? I don't think so.

You definetly have a point there.But when it comes down to it,we have one of the wildest punchers in boxing today,against an all time defensive great.Toney knows things that Manny couldn't teach Wlad in a million years.
I like this debate, and that's why this will be a good fight. I think it basically comes down to one thing. Can Toney take Sam's best shot? I believe the answere is no. Peter showed against Wlad that he can fight in spurts and be dangerous so that's why I believe he will win. The openings that Toney leaves will make Peter go into wild mode and some of those punches will land, trust me. The problem for Toney in this fight is I don't see him being able to hurt Sam. Wlad hit Peter with just about everything he could and got one "wobble" out of him. Sam won't be afraid to come in there and throw and throw and keep throwing until he hits Toney until it's "Lights Out".

True but Toney and Klitschko are two different fighters. Klitschko kept Peter at a distance where he couldn't land by sticking the jab and moving. Toney sits there and slips and rolls everything. For some reason this strikes me as a bad way to fight Peter. If you remember the Toney-Holyfield fight(when James wasn't officially a bowling ball yet), Evander caught James with some good clean shots early in the fight that hurt him. Toney was able to absorb most of it but still sat there and only moved his head. Against Peter the shots will be twice as hard and twice as wild. Don't be surprised if Toney gets clocked and KOed in the first 4 rounds.
I'll give Toney credit for being a legit heavyweight, but he's a thug. Every interview he gives is a disgrace to boxing and the likes of Floyd Patterson and the gentlemen of the division.
i've said it before, anyone who thinks peter will land one of his hail mary, see em a million miles off shots on a defensive master like toney is'nt going to enjoy saturday night. toney will do what he always does and take the nightmare to school.
Toney is a great defensive fighter, but that doesn't mean he doesn't get hit. In fact he gets hit a lot. If the type shots that Evander landed on Toney land for Peter it really will be a "nightmare" and more than likely it will be "lights out" for James.
The fight I most want to see is Hatton-Castillo, that would be fight of the year almost guarenteed. I really have no interest in the heavyweight division outside of Sam Peter. One scenario that I would love to see play out is Barrera-Morales 4. I know it sounds rediculous but say they both lose this fall, where else is there to go? I don't think anyone would oppose of them fighting a fourth time including them, considering it'd be their last big payday. On a humorous note, I'd like to see Bowe-Holyfield 4 as well. That has to be on pay-per-view.
The punch that McCall landed would've knocked down almost all heavyweights and the fact that Lewis got up was incredible enough. He was out on his feet and although after the stoppage he seemed well enough to be enraged, it was the right decision. McCall would have most assuredly put Lennox down again and the fight would have ended on Lewis's back instead.

I think Baldomir is the man you're thinking of here. He went from broke to no joke in about six months. If he beats PBF, that might be the best year a boxer ever had.
I agree with Briggs. Screw the Bitchkchos. The only time I rooted for them was Vitali against Lewis. Although Briggs has no real reason to be talking (cause he sucks), I like the fire.
Jermaine and Winky clearly. I have this fight on DVD and scored it an even draw, cause it was. Although I believe all Winky needed to do was win the 12th.

Wlad's confidence is at an all time high. He believes as I do that, with Manny Stewart in his corner he is the number 1 heavyweight in the world. With that said, I don't think Brock cares. Although he can sometimes be a boring fighter and doesn't seem to show incredible pop on his punches, he is just the type of fighter that can give Wlad trouble. He has good boxing skills and a good chin, which means he won't be discouraged by Stewart's obvious plan of sticking the jab. If he can get inside and land some combinations on Wlad this could be a tough fight. Even so, I'm betting on Wlad winning a close and uninspiring decision.

First of all, how could you not see the Byrd massacre coming. He had already destroyed him once. The reason I said he didn't deserve the belt is because Byrd was a bogus champion who should've lost to Golata. And by the way the Evander thing is a joke. Does anyone have a sense of humor anymore. I'm done with Lennox Lewis. I don't want to see the guy commenting on boxing, let alone fighting again. Never has any fighter annoyed me with words more than Lennox. He's a pompous prick and knew Vitali was getting the better of him in the first fight but denied it. My favorite knockout of all time is when he smiles against Rahman until he gets plowed in the face with a bomb. I don't know why everyone on this site is so fascinated with the guy. He's the Kobe Bryant of boxing, never gives any respect to anyone besides "Lennox Lewis" as he would say.
As for Vitali, honestly I don't care either. He never deserved the belt he had in the first place and neither does his brother.
Face it everyone, the heavyweight division is a bore fest outside of Sam Peter, James Toney, and Valuev. If Sam doesn't win this weekend I'm tuning in only for fights outside the division until someone with some skills, some heart, some warrior in them comes along. On that note. Please Evander, save the division and do what Foreman did.
