I order most every PPV but leaning towards NO. Might cave in on fight night.
Thing is I know its pricey but I live in nyc and will easily spend that much anyway if I decide to go out elsewhere. Bars that do show PPV around here charge like $20 and I end up spending $70 anyway with food and drinks.
If I knew of a good stream would probably just watch it like that.
I order almost all boxing PPVs but with the mayweather event just passing and more PPVs coming up real soon was gonna try to catch it at a bar which I never do. Problem is bars around my apartment charge $25 for PPV boxing matches...might end up costing me more going to a bar with drinks and food then if I plunked down the $60 at home.
I think Karass works him.
I honestly feel Berto is a bigger, stronger, busier, harder hitting version of Broner myself.
Agreed about Karass which is why Im not sure where this leaves Broner. Karass is tough as nails but most boxing fans look at him as a tough gate keeper with limited skills if Broner cant beat that stlye I dont see him doing well against pretty much any of the top guys at 140 and 147.
maybe Im mistaken but I thought a lot of people looked at brandon as the more skilled of the 2. I personally think he has a better chin and better stamina maybe even a slightly better finisher than Maidana (think Maidana might have more one punch power but brandon is more relentless). The few moments that Maidana let off the gas and Broner was coming forward wouldnt have taken place against Rios.
Each has his own strengths and I dont see Broner beating either of them or any other hard hitting pressure fighter unless he changes his style up completely.
Im not totally sold on maidana's power,, yes he has good pop, but he didnt finish khan, or alexander
The only time maidana looks like a big puncher is when he is in some wild fight with lopez or soto karass, but anytime faced with a guy not willing to slug it out "mexican" style, maidana has a hard time
Not saying broner has the ability or chin to withstand maidana's assault, just stating an observation about maidana,, he doesnt look his best when facing skilled fighters
Not sure if broner is skilled enough but we are going to find out
I agree he can be outboxed by a skilled fighter and his power doesnt look great when he cant get to his opponent. Hoever this might be a bit different since I dont think Broner will be moving around the ring like Alexander and he was very close to getting Khan out of there. Broner is skilled but in a different way than the fighters you mentioned who have beaten him in the past (alexander and khan)
So most people here are saying he is going to stand in the pocket and counter and have a fairly easy time with Maidana. But judging from his last few fights (paulie, the British bald guy) he also isnt that hard to hit himself so are we assuming that he has a iron chin? or his defense is going to be better? because Maidana definitely hits a lot harder than his last few opponents
Ticketmaster released even more tickets today including large sections going for $300
Still not sold out. Trust me.
I had 2 seats that I paid 630 a piece for and could no longer make it down to Vegas so I put them on stubhub weeks ago and I finally sold them today last minute for 350.each. they are going way below value
they are showing it at RED STAR bar in greenpoint brooklyn. Im sure some places closer to your hotel are showing it but they will be a lot more packed depending on what your looking for. The Pour House in the East village also plays PPV events
