It still amazes me how anyone can not be suspicious.
Freddy Roach = trainer of know drug cheats
Justin Fortune = former strength and conditioning coach of Manny Pacquiao is a known drug cheat
Alex Ariza = current strength and conditioning coach of Manny Pacquiao is not allowed to train olympic athletes and was also involved in the Balco scandal
Shane Mosley never failed a drug test.
Tommy morrison never failed a drug test
Few fighters are as candid as Tommy Morrison, who admitted in a 2005 interview with RingsideReport.com that he used steroids throughout his boxing career.
"You become bigger, faster, and stronger,” Morrison said. “It helps with your endurance and recovery time between rounds. I looked around and, from what I saw, everybody was doing the same ****. It wasn’t something that was talked about openly; but when you looked around, you could tell. I just looked at it as bettering my chances. Without steroids, I wouldn’t have gone as far as I did. I guarantee you that.”
People are obviously beating the current system so I have no problems with fighters going outside the commission and negotiating for olympic style random blood tests. I do have a problem with any fighter unwilling to submit to these tests whether it be Manny Pacquiao, Bernard Hopkins or anyone else. If you are a true boxing fan you will agree with this.
i agree with all the tests for an even playing field, although i personally think that the frequency may put a little risk on the fighter when a fighter trains. blood clots travel when you move, especially when you do strenuous activities, and it could go to the lungs, to the heart or the brain. i think it would be better that after the test, the fighter take a rest (no training) for a day or two, coz i don't think the blood clots dissolve easily. but then, it's just me. i can't impose my will on anyone if a fighter doesn't wanna agree for his own personal reasons, i don't take it against them. but i personally think that pacquiao and freddy roach are not cheaters. i cannot speak so much of roach than i can speak for pacquiao because we know pacquiao. as a boxer, he's never been a cheater in and out of the ring and i don't think he would go as far as cheating to win, aside from the fact that steroids are not known to us in the philippines. with the fighters who cheated that roach trains, i don't think roach would impose on his fighters to cheat. i don't think, that's the way he is. they might have done it all by themselves and i don't think they would tell roach, or even anyone, that they are doing it (doping). as for justine fortune i don't know him. as for alex ariza, i am not so sure about him, honestly.
