If and only if that ever happens (both the fight and KO), then PBF is trapped. Or that would give him the balls to fight Pac.
LOL, Royin, Essien and Vet420.:cool2:
If Juan Ma fights a smart fight and gets past 7 rds, he's got a chance and hope Gamboa punches himself out. But if he trades punches, he'll get KTFO before the 4th.
I love both, Holyfield fought with half an ear and Frazier with a blind eye, they both did it against Tyson and Ali. They're equal.
What a breather from all the Pacman-PBF thread! Anyway, l agree w/ you buddy. It's a tie for me too.
10 years ago, this would have been a PPV fight. Both fighters way past their primes but Holy still has some sting for a very old man in boxing. Botha was the gatekeeper in HW some 10yrs back but l havent heard of him for about 3yrs now so l'll go for Holy. I dont even know why Holy's camp took this fight. Nothing much to gain from this fight
Wow! Suddenly these Flomos and Pactards have become real expert hematologists. Anyways, I have yet to hear a top rate boxer's opinion on the Olympic type drug test and it's possible effect prior to a fight considering that this is not the norm in professional boxing. If this is just the typical blood test extraction, well l dont see any reason why Pac doesnt submit himself to it. If not, this would give more questions than answers. But if this was a 2-week procedure as one here mentioned, wouldnt this affect the boxer's dieting and conditioning program leading to his fight?
As for PBF, if he says this would be an easy fight, why doesnt he just take this fight w/ or w/o his required drug test and just finish off the Pacman. Plain and simple. Half of the fight plan is the Mental aspect and it has just begun.
Merry Christmas everyone:beerchug:
Valuev vs Haye or any of John Ruiz' fights :D
Nice one :fing02:
Ali-Frazier/Norton/Shavers fights and some of Foreman's too. I also like Holyfield-Tyson I & II fights and most of Holyfield and Tyson fights. I'd love to see the fight betwee Tua and the HW boxer who was imprisoned some years back (not sure if it was Mugabi??). A lot has been said about that fight. Its been a while since we've seen a great HW fight.
After the Vanda fights, I really thought his handlers would step up the plate and bring him B+ fighters. They didnt. They should gamble on Duddy next. Otherwise, he wont go nowhere near his old man
Floyd took Mosley's best power shots, hung on and still finished the round strong. Everybody said JMM was mismatch for Floyd which turned out to be true and people said the same thing for Pac but what we witnessed was Pac getting beat while Floyd sparred with JMM and won every round. JMM style will always bother Pac and that's why I believe the same JMM who fought Floyd would have made it tough for Manny. Floyd is the most accurate counter puncher in the sport with impeccable defense and speed. Manny ain't beating Mayweather and I think if Arum doesn't make the fight that no one would question Floyd about it because now everyone knows that Pac can't beat Mayweather.
Pac should have just fought Floyd after Cotto instead of trying to out do and be bigger than him in the sport. Arum's hate for Floyd hurt Pac's career because if Pac lost to Mayweather then it would be like props win or lose for taking the fight but since he got beat by JMM and the gift. It made his value as a top fighter stock go down dramatically because mostly everyone thought Pac would breeze through JMM except die hard boxing fans who knows styles. Pac got exposed and being that Floyd is clearly a more dominate fighter than JMM. There's no way if that fight gets made that Pac gets any props as a favorite at beating Mayweather. Arum is ready to put Pac in with JMM again and have him look worse because the same will happen if not worst because JMM studied Manny and corrected his mistakes while Manny used the same game plan and got neutralized.
When I say not full proof, I mean Floyd can get hurt. Zab did it, Sugar did it so Manny has a chance. You're correct in saying that Floyd survived Shane's punches but Shane all of a sudden became gun-shy after that round. Credit Floyd for coming back though. And as I said Mayweather will win a UD against Manny. But I won't under estimate the punching power of Manny cause he's got a chance. Im niether a Pacquaio nor a Mayweather die-hard so I'm analyzing this based on their strengths and weaknesses. Let's not be basing this on the last fights alone because boxing has 12 rounds, and things can happen in a wink of an eye. Hope we get to see this fight!
:beerchug:
Riddick, why don't you just call out Evander first for a 4th fight and feel those punches again before even calling out the Klitchkos. That would be an intriguing undercard match for a main event.
It depends on which side of Mosley comes out to fight. If he comes out the way he fought Cotto and Forrest, PBF will get the UD. If he comes out to fight the way he did against Vargas, Mayorga and the last against Margarito, he might just KO PBF if he gets caught clean. It all depends how PBF can take a big shot from a legitimate WW. Because Mosley will definitely connect a couple. PBFs chin will be tested. Also, l would tend to believe, SSM has the psyche edge over PBF during their confrontation after the JMM fight. PBF didnt look confident to me that time. Plus, I dont think though PBF has the power to KO mosley. But PBF has the speed to discourage Sugar Shane just like in the Cotto fight. An interesting fight, l would say.:beerchug:
"Also, your circular logic about Pacquaio beating DLH and Hatton more convincingly makes no sense based on both past and recent history. Everyone who knows anything about boxing history knows that George Foreman KTFO of Joe Frazier and Ken Norton, both of whom beat Ali. So, logically, one would conclude that Foreman would easily beat Ali. But everyone (except you) knows that Ali toyed with Foreman and KO'd him in round 8.
Floyd KO'd Diego Corrales at 130, moved up and won two decisions against Jose Luis Castille. Castille wins one fight by KO and loses one fight by KO against Corrales. Hatton KO'd Castille in the 4th round. Floyd KO'd Hatton in round 10. Vernon Forest beat Mosley twice."
-Didnt you just imply that the "circular logic" about comparing the fights of both fighters against Oscar and Hatton makes no sense yet you included this:
"Pacquaio score a draw and won a disputed decision against Marquez. Floyd beat Marquez without breaking a a sweat"
Sorry man, but I dont get it.
...Pac will lose to Jr....Martinez should move up to #1 while Jr and Pac share the #2 spot of course JMM gets the #3...
Iceman, I agree that Marquez should move up to the
3rd spot. But Martinez at no.1? He wasn't that impressive in his last fight .
Isn't he the guy that was on that dancing show?
Do you mean PBF? If you meant Calzaghe, atleast Joe had the balls to sign fight contracts and face both RJJ and BHop and win. Two future HOFs and possibly ATGs.
I love it! Great letter.
I hope Mayweather takes the fight even though people will just shit on him when he beats Manny.
Shoulder, I agree w/ you that PBF should take this fight. 50/50 is fair enough I would say. But it would depend on how he beats Manny. lf he wins by jabbing and back-pedalling his way to victory, that doesnt silence his critics. He should dominate Manny if he wants to silence them for good. Believe me, if he does that, even haters will become believers.
We all know that PBF is in a not so good financial state right now. Nobody can give him as much money as a Pacman fight. If he says this will be an easy fight, then why doesnt he just take it and go straight to the bank after the fight? He's just contradicting himself. If he insist on a 60/40 or a more than a 50% share, he doesnt really want to fight Manny. Plain and simple.
BTW, Cotto's gained my respect even more when he went to Manny's corner after their fight. Thats what you call a real MAN.:beerchug:
I wouldnt be surprised if Shane would be exercising his rematch clause, especially if talks w/ Manny gets shaky. Just too much money to let go but not as blockbuster as the first. Having been in mega fights before, I was very surprised at why Shane, after rocking Floyd in the second round, all of a sudden was very cautious. But credit Floyd for surviving the onslaught and adjusting to let the fight go his way.
If Shane does get to fight Floyd again, I believe he needs to get a better trainer and fight him pronto cause age is fast catching up on him. Get Roach to work on your side. If he beats Floyd on the second chance, no better way to close your career w/ a win over Floyd. "How sweet it is." Thats just my opinion
Mayweather will win a lopsided fight IMO but Pac has a puncher's chance. And Manny throws a lot of punches plus Floyd's chin isnt full proof. This will be edgy fight for Floyd and he should be very cautious all through out the fight cause it might just end up like the Alvarado-Prescott fight. On a side note, Manny's Ariza was out-mentored by JuanMa's Angel in a battle of conditioning coaches. I was impressed with JuanMa's condition at his age. He was able to bring with him his power and speed unlike when he fought Floyd at the same weight. What interests me now is a Mayweather-Marquez rematch! Revancha!
it will be a great fight.a quick powerful southpaw brawler vs a skilled accurate counter puncher with A-1 defense. can't wait for this one.
Same here. But Floyd should be on his guard at all times especially in the 1st 4 rounds. A single solid shot from Pac can change the fight. Point in case- Cotto. Miguel has taken lots of hard solid punches from very good WWs yet everything changed against Pac. And no matter how fast Floyd moves, Pac will connect.
