Hatton
I think Hatton would have trouble with Floyd, Corrales and Castillo also. And he should be afraid of losing to Mayweather because that's just what would happen. People will see how great Mayweather really is when he slows down and shows that he has a lot more tactical knowledge upstairs and technical skills (aside from speed) to beat anyone out there.
The only premiere fighters around this weight class I think Hatton can get out on is probably Cotto and Zab, if he tries testing Floyd, Corrales or Castillo, he's going to sleep.
Gatti Fans
First things first, Gatti is not as hard a puncher as Castillo, so even if he caught up with Floyd (which he can't) he's not going to stop him. Castillo clocked Floyd more than once and was able to handle it.
Secondly, Both Corrales and Castillo would knockout Gatti, he's an overrated guy who has been fortunate to lock up with other medicore fighters and it happened to work. Same thing happened in the 50's with Tony Zale and Graziano...they had great wars and everybody wanted to see them...but Ray Robinson would eat and destroy both of those guys even though he wasn't as popular.
Thirdly, Gatti has a title as a warrior, but only due to fighting other washed up fighters, like Mickey Ward, we seem to forget, Gatti was crushed by guys like Alvin Robertson and Angel Manfreddy and le's not even get into what DeLa Hoya and Mayweather did to him. Why people continue to talk his name up, after he's lost to all the best guys and want to match him with a guy like Floyd who's undefeated, captured at least four belts and is in peak form...there's only one answer for that...they don't know boxing...
Mayweather
First, if we're talking about the greatest fighter ever...we're talking about Sugar Ray Robinson...not Ali. Any comparison of Floyd being the greatest ever will have to be along those lines...and quite frankly, Mayweather is the ONLY fighter in the past 50 years that can be compared to Ray's...technical genious and supernatural talent. Like Robinson, Mayweather is an in fighter, an out fighter, a defenisve fighter, an offensive fighter...plain and simple, he's a fighter, there are only two questions to be answered about him...can he take a big punch and does he have the lion heart of a Ray Robinson, right now, he's so dam good no one can even begin to make him answer these questions....he's going to destroy Juda, Cotto, Hatton just like he did Corrales.
For those who say Floyd has no power @ 140, what are you basing that on? I'm just curious. If Manfredy could knock Gatti out...then its silly to think Floyd can't. I mean even if Floyd wasn't that hard of a puncher...Gatti doesn't have the greatest chin anyway...he's always on the canvass, that's why so many people like him...
What People Don't Know or Understand about Floyd
First, this is not a personality test. This is a fight. And Floyd is a complete fighter, first and foremost. What I've heard that doesn't mean crap in this matchup is the following:
"Gatti has to make this a brawl, that's his only chance".
It is his only chance for getting knocked out quicker. Floyd is the BEST inside fighter out there, the best shoulder to shoulder fighter in the world...to think Gatti is going to beat him by brawling trying to get inside while Floyd is back pedaling trying to be Pernell Whitaker or Ray Leonard is a mistake. This cat fights inside better than Gatti does. For this fight, he's going to want to fight inside even more...not good for Gatti.
Another thing I've seen written are comparisons of Castillo and Gatti? Do you guys watch boxing...or know boxing? Castillo was world class when Floyd fought him and beat him...twice. I know some think Gatti is world class...but being popular and having a nice personality does not make you a world class fighter...as a matter of fact, every world class fighter he fought...has knocked him out or crushed him...i.e. De La Hoya
Mayweather inside...
I think some other people hit on it. Floyd has so much to prove for all this attention over Gatti that he will definately fight him inside. Bad for Gatti. Why? The guy gets dropped, plain and simple. Manfredy dropped him, DeLa Hoya dropped him, Ivan Robinson? Dropped him. Micky Ward dropped him, so why would you pick against a champion in the prime of his career who has not only never been knocked out, but never off his feet?
Not only that, Floyd is probably the "best" inside, shoulder to shoulder fighter in the sport. Gatti can't beat this guy inside or outside...people can wish and dream about Gatti's power but his power has only emerged from beating guys beyond their prime, including Micky Ward...when he tried to step it up against the DeLa Hoya's and other world class guys..he gets knocked out.
