i here people saying Gatti will get KO. With what?!?!? this kid has no power at this weight, none what so ever, and people are talking about how hes going to KO the toughest fighter in our era??
Gatti was supposedly better than ever with Buddy McGirt, he was on a winning streak, was a 140 titlist and had HBO all over his nuts. Floyd was coming off the heavily criticized Bruselles fight, was called unproven at 140 and said to not have the power to faze Gatti. This fight was the beginning of his soon to be Money Mayweather persona, he dissed the hell out of Gatti prefight, **** on Gatti's fans and by fightnight had all of racists America against him. It was brilliant! He msde himself the top dog in boxing with that fight.
Yea, I know Gatti was really mad at him and said he was gonna ko him. I think Gatti just didn't have the speed at 140 like at 130 and without it he was chanceless. A 130 Gatti in his 20's was deadly with his speed and power.
At 130, it would be SOME battle...but by 2005, Arturo was already past his prime. Too bad. Really a shame, coz I'd loved to see him kick that mofo's ass!:boxing: :D

Gatti(RIP), as much a blood and guts warrior as he was, was never really a good boxer, he lost to almost all elite fighters he faced. Mayweather takes him out regardless of time/weight.

To be fair, the fight was more stopped because Gatti was helpless. Not like Mayweather was knocking Gatti down.
People have always underestimated Mayweather's power, myself included a few times I'm sure.
I dont remember what round it was but Floyd landed a body, head, combo that hurt Gatti bad.
His pop is underrated he was tagging Mosley and hurt him a few times. Once with a bodyshot in the 9th round that was just brutal.
Naw not really.

It's funny cause despite Pac's success, I still think the standard to which he is held is pretty low. Pac simply winning a fight is good enough, most still expect him to lose. Floyd is expected to win, only by losing can he shock the boxing world.
This...................
Wow, so someone made a wrong prediction based on some sound reason.
Its not like Floyd even to this day is proven to have jaw dropping power at 147.
I guess ppl not being perfect and accurately predicting the future means they know nothing about boxing right?
This thread was not about 147, it was about his power against Gatti which he fought at 140 pounds.
The hate runs DEEP with Floyd.
He's always been held to an absurdly higher standard than anyone else for some reason.
I agree that, today he SHOULD be held to this high standard, but you can see even back then people actually thought Ricky Hatton would be the one to do Floyd in.
Maybe it's cause he is/was the P4P king. The same way Roy was scrutinized for so many years.

Exactly.
I see people treating Manny like he's still a fvcking little featherweight or something.
Dude has proven that he belongs, and can bang with the big boys.
But Floyd himself said it best. Pacquiao has 3 losses, so no one is shocked if he does lose.
