The point about this theory is the stats? I furbished them with the full stats, to cast doubt on that theory.
Do try and think things through and read the original premise of the thread before making judgements.
Williams vs Lara, onesided win for Lara despite the lump on his head.
The stats according to HBO before the decision was announced:
Total Punches :
Pacquiao vs Marquez
176/578 138/436
30% 32%
Total Power Punches :
Pacquiao vs Marquez
117/274 100/254
43% 39%
Final Punchzone Stats:
Pacquiao vs Marquez
95 (head) 149 (head)
43 (body) 17 (body)
138 (total) 166 (total)
These are the stats as reported by compubox website:
Pacquiao vs Marquez
Total Punches Jabs Power Punches
176/578 59/304 117/274
30% 19% 43%
138/436 38/182 100/254
32% 21% 39%
I'll let you guys catch the error & figure out the percentages that support what the TS was relating to (didn't think Pac landed as many) & how it affects the perception/effectivenes/closeness of the performance. The comparison to Williams vs Lara isn't even close to the number of punches thrown (Williams threw 100% more than Lara & the diff landed is much higher 23% vs 2% or 3% for this fight).
Keep in mind these are just #s anyways & their reliability is fairly subjective (unless u watch in slo mo/3d/etc...). Ha!
Always a good idea to show the full picture if the info is readily available. Unfortunately I don't have the power yet to include the images.
Ponder away...
I understand the compubox figures, but what is the point he is trying to prove?
Sorry if it wasn't clear enough. I'm not trying to prove a point; just adding more stats as provided live to all viewers before the decision was declared. To paraphrase you... I have not made a theory on this subject. This is what I think the TS is addressing:
1. He doesn't believe Pacquiao landed more punches than reported.
2. Commentators are bias/contradictory (quantity/quality)
If you notice the stats shown, there is already misinformation (unintentional or otherwise) being reported. The total number of punches is reported as 176/578 30% for Pacquiao & 138/436 32% Marquez. A few seconds afterwards they reveal the body punch stats as: 95 43 138 32% & 149 17 166 29% . Benefit of the doubt to an innocent error, but also reminding us of their validity. Which #s are to be the real/true values? it does affect peoples' perception of efficiency/effectiveness afterall. What's the value of a 3% difference in one vs 2% in another slide for the same statistic?
He was probably realizing that he just lost his $$ for his new Trax. Those damn ads are annoying & even worse when the rodolfo throws them in his commentary. Chavez SR cracks me up with his screams and he actually called the action fairly accurately; kinda like RJJ did. Tvazteca has the entire fight on their site right now.
unlike jmm pac is consistent ..unlike jmm he did'nt have a drug cheat for a s& c coach ..unlike jmm , the accusations are baseless
I'll ignore the 'roids angle cause thats already old news; even by your standards. Let's go over the facts as history tells us: 3 knockdowns in 1st encounter; can't finish it. One KD in 2nd; can't finish it. Third encounter & still can't get the KO. So Manny consistently failed to KO Marquez. We all know how the last fight turned out. Pac is a superior athlete, but Marquez is a superior boxer. Simple as that. That's where his obsession begins; if you don't see that then your doomed to be defending a false boxing "god."
pissboy got one win over pac ..pac got over a decade over your ass
yup he's too obsessed with pac he had to hire a drug cheat to do the job ..plus , without pacquiao , jmm aint worth as sh1t....
What makes you think Manny is clean? Armstrong fooled everyone for a long time & we all know how that turned out. As much as it sucks, it's best to assume they're all dirty. Even your hero. You also attributed the Marquez win to "luck" which makes your accusations just as absurd. Were you even a boxing fan before Manny showed up?
nacho dont want to work with him but he will if he pays enough. Basically chavez jr has a **** reputation as far as work ethic and cancelling trainings sessions and trainers dont want to bother with his bull****
nacho has a ton of guys out there that want to work with him and ones that can be bothered to come to training
You're probably on the same wavelength as Nacho. They asked him recently on Espn Deportes if he would consider training Jr & basically said it would be difficult to take a fighter that's already molded into his own style & try to change or improve upon his style. He mentioned it's happened to him in he past & was blamed for their failures. They couldn't adapt to his training or implement it.
pac lost to a mexican ONCE.
should we do a tally of mexicans pac mexicuted?
savor this moment cabron. itll be short lived.
Marquez is the 2nd Mexican to give Manny a loss; time to brush up on your history. He's the first to do it in such a spectacular fashion. Manny owes as much to Mexican boxers as much as Marquez does to Manny. His legacy wouldn't be the same without them.
The mexicutioner thing is obviously not something he would pick for himself. That's all fans & media hype, but obviously adds to the drama. I'm sure Rios would give em a chance to continue his executioner legacy.
