he's 26, has been boxing since he was 8, had an extensive amateur career and he still fights like an MMA guy in boxing gloves.
i'd agree with you if he had a better trainer or showed more technical improvement by now. he doesnt and he hasnt.
I agree with the trainer part, who trains this guy? He has all the ability offensively, he throws boulders from all angles, he is a pressure fighter. I think he can be more technically sound tho
Good post, I agree to some extent however, Diego Corrales was a very formidable opponent when the fought. Chico had a very high knockout percentage and was undefeated. Jose Luis Castillo was a man to be feared also with his stellar record at the time with a sky high knockout percentage. Phillip Ndou had maybe 32 wins with 31 ko's at the time Floyd fought him. Ricky Hatton was undefeated at the time he fougt Floyd. Mosley was coming off of pulverizing Margarito so he was a formidable opponent. Even Ortiz was a good opponent.

He said that he was going to go for a KO in every fight after he got robbed against Cintron and Williams I.........he said that a KO has to be the the only way he can win in America.......which is what happened in the Cintron fight and he still got shafted.
He has a KO rating of around 50%.......nothing out of the ordinary about it at all.
Your initial point about going for the KO is very well taken, his 50% is low compared to the KO ratio in his last 3 fights which is 100%, he is seemingly getting stronger. in the Barker fight the announcers were talking about his power, since when does a guy with a 50% KO rating become known as a power puncher?
Here is the difference, Williams half the time doesnt even pay attention to what the **** he himself is doing. This is how Martinez was able to find him, Williams losses focus and tends to start just doing the same thing over and over again and Martinez looked for it and found it.
Pacquiao on the other hand places his shots he does not just throw combonations to keep you in a defensive shell like Williams meaning he is going to move when he is done with those shots he isnt going to repeat the same series of shots because he doesnt lose focus like Williams..
This fight if it happens it will happen at 150, and I dont think Martinez can make that weight and be Sergio I am sorry but I just do not see that happening, but if the fight is made, I expect it to be another DLH type win for Manny
Great points, Sergio also has great footwork, Something DLH never possesed, the angle at which Martinez throws his punches, recently fighters that have been willing to exchange with Sergio have gotten hurt, and these guys are much bigger than Pac, but 150 will be an issue, angles + footwork+counter punching ability Sergio wins it.

What they have is tons of athletic intelligence, Roger May is not good at grammar but he is good at understanding the sweet science. Are you guys serious, pac man is being very evasive about a few drug tests, it can't be anymore obvious, but many of you are still finding ways to justify his suspicious behavior. Cotto didn't even hurt him at all, I respect manny he seems like a genuine guy but realistically somethings going on here.
Berto's defense is atrocius, no head movement, he gets hit with too many jabs and straight shots, his stamina should not be questioned, in a hard fight with Collazo Berto turned it up in round 12 to win that fight. Mosley is a very seasoned fighter but I think Berto's speed and offense will be too much for SSM to handle, I predict a win for Berto on the cards. Too much speed , speed kills!!!

If Canelo wins in a spectacular fashion, we will have a true boxing superstar. Cintron defeated Angulo and had a draw with Sergio so he is credible.
Andy Lee is a better boxer as far as I have seen, Chavez Jr has zero defense, he can't get that head of his to move side to side, he can be pressured and Chavez may very well do that tonight.
S. Briggs is a Brooklyn guy like me so respect to him, I personally like Haye, he is hands down the most exciting thing in the heavyweight division, and I personally love how he is handling his business. If this guy can beat Wladimir he will be one of the biggest stars boxing has had in years, The Klits are annoying pompous boxers with great technical skills. They have an air of superiority about them that I don't like, I would love for Haye to knock Wladimir out. I doubt he can do it but I will be rooting for him.
