Tyson v Douglas of course..
Guinn v Barrett, I was hoping that Guinn would be able to mix it up with the heavys and spark some new life in the division
RJJ v Johnson...just an awful performance by a fighter I've watched for the last 7 years...
so far it looks like the Mexican brothas are picking Margarito and the Puerto Ricans are picking Cintron....
I like Margarito on experience and volume punching in this one. But Cintron does have the power to end it with one or two clean shots to the jawline. This could possibly be a fight of year candidate/winner right behind Mayorga/Trinidad.
Wlad v Jirov would be a good fight. Jirov has a serious chin and has some pop at heavy. If Wlad is too tenative, like he was for his last fight, he could be stopped.
Junior Witter rips Mayweather, apparently wants to fight him in January.its on maxboxing and boxrec.com.last time i saw Witter Judah was handing him an a** kicking though.
ya man....what does Witter bring to the table?? Why do all these b level fighters keep calling out the A level fighters then complain later that they are ducking them? WTF Why should Mayweather even consider this fight.....would anybody think anymore (or less) of FM if he took this fight.
38 wins and not one of them significant. I figure Valuev is just a freakishly tall boxer with good power but limited skills. He'd get stomped by any of the current champs.
your avatar makes it looks like you think byrd is christ (i was like come on he's just a boxer), just looks kind of funny, that's all im saying
how?????? His sn is ChrististheAnswer, not ByrdistheAnswer??? I don't understand how you think that.....ok back to boxing..
Holyfield will probably win a boring MD.
good post. I like Diaz and I think he could possibly be a pretty good champion. He should get a strength and conditioning coach to work on his power. He should be knocking guys out with all the punches he throws. I don't know, maybe he can improve his accuracy to help out with that. That's why Mayweather got a lot of ko's at lightweight. He didn't have much power but the speed and accuracy of his punches wore his opponents out and stopped them in the process. I don't think he can complete with a Corrales or Castillo type right now, but I like how he keeps improving his level of comp.
Damn Evander! Why must you continue to make yourself look foolish by continuing to fight past 40? Man, I loved Evander when he was competitive but now this is just some bullshit. I hope he gets thoroughly beat and calls it quits. I really don't want him to go out a la Meldrick Taylor.
Roach is a great trainer too and would compliment Bojado's style . I like McGirt cause like you mentioned he is great at improving defensive skills in a fighter WHILE still keeping their offense very active....like Gatti! Bojado use to fight like Gatti did when he was still young; with it all in the ring and never backing down, etc... McGirt taught him to do all that and use defense at the same time, in other words, BOX! But I will say that either Roach or McGirt would do wonders compared to Mayweather :)
agreed. Mayweather sucks as a trainer. Look what he did to DeLaHoya.....heh heh
Sports bars in the suburbs of boston change around 25 dollars. Better off
spliting the cost at home with friends where beer and food is cheaper.
Damn. Out here in southern Cali, a bar called SaddleRanch shows all the PPV fights and they never charge a cover. But it's always packed......
I think Manny wins this one by late TKO. Manny's just too focused and has great work ethics. I think Manny might come out a little cautious but turns up the heat in the later rounds.
I don't know why, but I always liked Bojado. Even though everything tells me to write him off as a waste that dosen't train properly. If he would just train harder and get the hell away from Mayweather he could go far and give alot of good fights. Mayweather wants him to fight ultra-defensive....wrong for a guy whos best asset was his offence. He needs to get with a trainer who is going to teach him the right way to use his strengths and add a bit of depth.......not totally change the way he fights.
I agree. I think that Mayweather was not the right trainer for Bojado. Francisco is an offensive fighter and works best when he is moving forward and throwing quick, sharp combos, not using the Mayweather shoulder roll defense and counter punching. I hope he gets back on track because the 140 divsion is fucking HOT right now and there are a lot of great possible match ups.
What Heavy Titles Does He Have Iba.all Different Titles But Not Heavy Isn't That The Division He Fights In Now.
He has the IBA and how long has he been fighting as a heavyweight? Just over a year. How many titles have those other guys got and how long have they been in the heavyweight division? Not that the IBA is even a title but dude's only been a heavy weight since Oct 2003.
All Those Guys U Named Are Better Than Toney.they Haven't Fought Him Because Toney's Off And On One Minute He's Hurt The Next He Ok.he's Bullshit So Overrated.he's The Iba Champ What Is That Some Kind Of Bowling League Title.
How are they better than Toney? Because you said so? Look at their track record at heavyweight, most those guys have not won a title once. Toney just got to Heavyweight and was already a champ at middle, supermiddle and cruiser. Not to mention that he beat the undefeated king of the crusiers in Jirov. I know Toney's shit talking might bother some of you but you gotta look past that and look at what he's accomplished. Stop being narrow minded.
Oh Yeah He Has The Wbc Continental Americas Title By Beating Rydell Booker.meehan Would Of Been Wbo But They Robbed Him.brewster Won The Wbo By Beating Wlad.who's Better Wlad Or Booker Come On Now.
Wlad is better than Booker. What does that have to do with anything. Wlad was matched with Williamson. So who's better between Toney and Williamson.
If Toney is such garbage then why doesn't any of the legit heavyweights fight him to get him out of the picture? Because they rather fight other garbage fighters like, Williamson, Meehan, Danny Williams, Larry Donald and Monte Barrett. But whatever, the heavyweight division is fucking bullshit right now anyway. There isn't one fighter that is worth watching in that division right now. NOT ONE! All a bunch of boring, uncoordinated, football player rejects.
i'm sure gatti and floyd are up to it, but their promoters aint...
finally someone who knows whats up. Man all you guys should know that cocky ass Mayweather (I'm a huge FM fan, BTW) wants to fight the best and believes he can beat the best. These fuckin promoters call the shots and make the fights, so when a fighter gets matched up with someone he doesn't want to fight, what does he do? He fights on until he gets the match that he's looking for. You guys need to chill out and look at these corrupt old promoters, they are the ones that are making these crap matchups.
With no evidence to support your claim that Mayweather would lose to Tszyu, except for Chop Chop stunned him in round 4, you say that Zab Judah, who got stopped by Tszyu in the second round of their first meeting (with one punch, might I add..) would win a UD over him. Please explain to me, because I don't understand what sense you're trying to make here..
That's what I'm saying.....can we get a real explaination for your bullshit logic
I think VK will win a decision. Most people think Williams is gonna get blown out. How? I think Tyson hits harder than VK and that's based on the fact that Tyson has more one punch KO's than any active heavyweight boxer. VK wears his opponents down with an acculmulation of punches so if anything he might get a late TKO. But he definitely doesn't KO him in under 6 rounds.
What has Floyd done so wrong for you to hate on him so much. Dude has had all tough fights and tried for so many more like Gatti, Hatton, DeLahoya
Nothing. People don't like him because of his attitude. I mean he does have a shit attitude but I look past all that. I just look at fighters talent.
thats pareja..e mad eit to the final fight and loss...i think it was a draw..the real q..if it would have been a 12 round fight could otis have held up still...?
Otis would have held up....Pareja was the one that was getting hit with bombs so he might not have made it to the end if he kept on eating those bombs..
When you look at the great heavyweights that have gone before like Dempsey, Louis, Marciano, Ali, Foreman, Frazier, Tyaon etc. and then compare it to the current crop, I don't think there is any comparison.
Exactly!!! None of the current heavies compare to these guys. There's no way that Vitali will be as great as any of these guys, or Byrd for that matter...
Haven't watched this show since it was moved to FSN...what happened to that obnoxious white guy with the older girlfriend who thought he was so much better than everyone else? Man, that guy was irritating.
That's Pareja, the dude that lost to Otis last night. I'm glad Otis got some redemption and took out the guy he lost to (Mince) then beat Pareja to win the competition. Overall the show was garbage tho...
He Has No Heart Because He Clowns Around And Just Cares About His Image.you Will See His Heart When He Gets Ko'd By Gatti.
Clowns around?? I think you got him confused for Zab. And how does clowing around equal no heart? Heart is measured in a fight as how tough and how much determination you have regardless of the situation. I've seen everyone of Mayweathers fights and I have never seen him clown around IN the ring. The dude has mad talent but you don't even respect that. Maybe if he was Puerto Rican it would be all good huh? ;)
I agree with going with McGirt. Bojado looked like he was afraid to let his hands go...especially after the knockdown (maybe he didn't think Leija was hurt). I liked the old Bojado...he can still be a good fighter though. Leija's a tough old bird and Bojado just wasn't on his game that night.
Ya. I felt bad for him, since he had to change trainers mid way through his training camp. The kid can fight and should still be considered as a good prospect. His comp has been better than some of the other 140 prospects (Salita, Malinaggi, "Speedy" Gonzales)
