Lee is on the comeback trail and wouldnt be thrown in with Golovkin. Macklin v Golovkin would be a great fight. Golovkin is overhyped & against Macklin we'd see how good he really is & how far he can go. Golovkin v Murray or Quillin.
That could be a good fight in the future but Agogo now needs to get people talking about his boxing rather than his adverts & the olympic sweetboy image he's building. I hope he doesn't get destracted by being a minor celebrity and remembers what has got him this far (albeit not very far at the moment) which is his boxing.
I thought Kessler won by a couple of rounds. Froch was a little bit flat footed in this fight & Kessler's work was a bit crisper. Froch's punches were bit slower & seemed abit forced. Agree with the comment that Froch's body language just after the fight showed that he wasn't happy with how the fight went & therefore that he felt he lost.
I think Froch will win a close re-match. should be a classic.
If Alexander beats Brook to the punch & he dictates the pace of the fight then Brook is in for a hards nights work. The gameplan for Brook would be to get his own jab working, get on the inside & rough Alexander up abit like what Bradley did. Brook has the strength & ability to do this. When it gets abit rough & ready & things turn against Alexander he'll unravell. Alexander is a good tricky boxer but I can see Kell winning on points (even against the American on home soil) it'll be too clear cut.
Think Yafai is about 23-24 not 19 years old?? Very early days but he looks like a real star in the making & is looking like he could go all the way. Whats impressive is that he's showing real power. Its very early in his career but i think that if you're going get to the top, you need to be stopping 7 out of the first 10 guys, providing you're fighting ok opposition, which he seems to be. Yafah is the best prospect in the country i recon.
I thought Eubank Jr looked impressive in his first few fights but what is starting to show now is his lack of power. He doesnt seem to have power to fully discourage the other fighter, never mind the knockout power. When he steps up a level or two i can see him struggling.
boxing needs cleaning up & tougher testing needs to be brought in. 1 year for taking steriods and allegedly trying to take the padding out 1 of his gloves is not long enough. Alot of boxers only fight twice a year & therefore its hardly a ban.
Its not like cycling where cheating will win you some races. Cheating in boxing with steriods could result in 1 boxer getting brain damage.
