I completely understand how people don't like his style, but not every guy can be an all action fighter. It is boxing after all so some guys actually do just that and box.
I think this is a big fight for Devon, if he returns to his Urango style and ability WW will have a new top guy on its hands.
Cunningham is one of his biggest enablers, dude loves telling Devon to clinch. I don't have a problem with clinching, but it's become Devon's go-to tactic now, shit has gotten out of hand. If the opponent is getting close, use your feet or time him with a hard uppercut. I'm starting to think that he doesn't have a good inside game, so he resorts to clinching like Khan.
It's how Devon gets his victories that's the issue. If he can beat Brook without the fight turning into a clinch-fest, then cool.

We shall see, he smoked Urango and Witter both of which are more proven than Brook by a long shot.
As for Maidana the Soto Karass fight was months later so that really isn't an excuse for why people didn't give him credit for the win right after it happened.
At JWW they were proven. Alexander's holding turned a lot of people off in that fight, but he did look impressive and schooled Maidana. I just don't think Alexander is that great a WW yet, but time will tell.
Hope everyone in this thread will give Devon the respect he deserves after he smokes Brook in this fight. I doubt it though, there are still people on here that won't give him credit for shutting out Maidana.

At WW. Not necessarily the biggest accomplishment in the world. If he did to Maidana at JWW, I'd feel different. Maidana went life and death with Jesus Soto Karass. Bailey is a better win for Alexander at WW IMO and he fought not to lose. If he comes out guns blazing and smokes Brook, I'll eat my words. Won't happen.

im from the u.s but would prefer brook to win, he seems like a swell guy. alexander is a boring fighter to me, im tired of his jab - straight - grunt hold style.
If Alexander beats Brook to the punch & he dictates the pace of the fight then Brook is in for a hards nights work. The gameplan for Brook would be to get his own jab working, get on the inside & rough Alexander up abit like what Bradley did. Brook has the strength & ability to do this. When it gets abit rough & ready & things turn against Alexander he'll unravell. Alexander is a good tricky boxer but I can see Kell winning on points (even against the American on home soil) it'll be too clear cut.
Devon's whole game has been to win now look good later. It's worked for him so far but now is the time to show out. He's the champion, he's headlining on ShowTime, now is the time to open up and let his hands go.
I'll definitely be watching to see how Brook gets on.
One thing I'm not looking forward to hearing is Devon's b*^%" ass make that stupid noise every time he punches.
Brook looks sturdy physically, I'm hoping it plays a part when Devon falls inside if only to keep the action fluid. Also hoping the referee keeps it moving as well. The stop/start of devon's fights is starting to go beyond Wlad levels
I think this pretty much sums up why most will tune in to this.
Exactly. If Alexander was in a bar brawl or a nuclear war with cameras following him, he'd make both events too boring to watch. I hope Brook puts on a good show and doesn't get robbed.
