also, as mentioned before, any pessimistic demeanour coming off Froch can be accounted for by McCracken telling him throughout the fight that the rounds were too competitive and close for them to win a decision in Denmark.
Montoya also told Kessler between rounds that he was behind.....actually. This could have backfired for Montoya I think. Kessler could've been more carefull in the last round. No need to trade punches like they ended up doing. Guess Kessler knew that Froch couldn't floor him :)
ANY fighter who thinks he won the fight WILL raise his hands and celebrate, many do it even though they know they lost just to put a little pressure on the judges. Froch DIDNT do that, he knew he lost and so did his corner, if you are in doubt watch it again. Not even a smile on Carls face! (sure fanboys will cry "he knew he would get robbed")
Kessler didn't do it either (see below) but his team did. I think both men were too physically exhausted at the end of the 12th to celebrate, it was a helluva last round.
Carl Froch vs Mikkel Kessler 2010-04-24 by tiguidou421
Froch stopping Kessler will change things. it will make that arguable decision an irrelevancy.
Yes... My post was adressed to you... Thanks for pointing that out...
I thought Kessler won by a couple of rounds. Froch was a little bit flat footed in this fight & Kessler's work was a bit crisper. Froch's punches were bit slower & seemed abit forced. Agree with the comment that Froch's body language just after the fight showed that he wasn't happy with how the fight went & therefore that he felt he lost.
I think Froch will win a close re-match. should be a classic.
Havent been here for years now but nothing has changed I see. Looking forward to a rematch for sure.
What amuses me is how many keyboard warriors still have no clue how to score a fight. You might not agree with me and thats fine, not gonna waste time trying to explain what you should have known before posting BS. A simple google search would help you to understand how a fight is scored, just a hint!.

I know a lot of fighters (you know guys who actually put on real gloves and train everyday for a living) and coaches (the guys in the corner screaming and telling their fighters what to do), still none of them had Froch to win the fight, so you have to wonder who knows better: keyboard warriors VS real warriors?.
Fully rescored. 115-113 Froch. Close but clear. And I thought I was going to get a different result at a certain point. Kessler really hustled in this fight and he scored about 700 right hands to Froch's left side and abdomen, but he was very wild and seemed to put his emphasis on giving the appearance of being active and not really threading the needle with his punches. Froch was a little stronger and it made the difference. Especially in the final two rounds.
kessler won go cry brits
There is a lot of Mexicans, Americans etc who feel Froch won.
115-113 for either seems to be the most common score with it being split down the middle.
I'm just glad they're getting it on a second time :)
Froch won the fight 115 - 113. I think the only reason Kessler got the nod was because it was in his home but he did put up a good fight and is a very live opponent in the rematch.
This does indeed some it up. With the recent Froch excitement, hype even, from his big win over Bute etc, it seems to have tuned around slightly to the point where many are now pretending Froch was robbed.
At the time, Froch and his corner clearly thought they lost, and there was no talk of robbery and it was deemed a perfectly reasonable decision, because that's exactly what it was.
Still, Kessler is well past it now and Froch should win it convincingly, especially given his current confidence and form.
uh no. froch did win. the judges were paid off. one judge gave kessler the first 5 rounds. the other 2 gave kessler the last 2 rounds in order to give him the win. it was corruption.

not alot of people had froch winning, including the US poundits and primetime pundits. I think even the press rtow had it a split.
Froch is more popular now hence if you did a poll with the dirrell fight i bet i much larger number will admit he won the fight, due to the facts hes popular.
Wheras at the time, calzaghe fans, yanks etc all hated froch. This exposes joke stanish fan boys for there boxing fans rather than froch.
LOL at teh Froch fans saying he won the first half of the fight just because Showtime spinned it that way...Froch was crying to his corner that he couldnt take the body shots.....Body language at the end says it everything...Forchs corner knew he lost...now just because Froch is on a streak, they want to spin things.....even the absolute homers from the brit broadcast had Kessler winning
