Bingo.
Ward and Froch have been through the toughest schedule in the division to get where they are at. For Bute to just watch from the outside, and get a free pass at the winner is sickening.
Bute needs to EARN a shot at the super-six winner. A face-off with Kessler/Dirrell first, winner faces Super-six champ.
Ward and Froch entered a tournament who left the number 2 of the time apart. Bute does not have to earn his shot, he did a long time ago. Beside, how long do you think the effect of the tounament will play? If they ant big money, they have to do it soon.
Ward will take Froch to school and then he will ko bute and will be the p4p #1 which is just waiting for him. Why is ward not ranked higher on p4p then sergio????
Ward will KO Bute? :smashfrea
you're dumb. Ward is not koing anyone unles he fights a top 50 fighter, and even then...
Froch has the stamina & style to destroy Bute (in a late fight rally). He's bigger than Andrade, stronger, far more refined inside his style. Bute has been lucky since the first fight with Librado to not face anyone that forces him to fight. Froch has that ability. I guarantee if Froch keeps coming & forces Bute to fight all night, he stops Bute late. It'll look something like Margarito-Cotto 1 if Froch comes out blazing. I'll know by the 1st couple rounds whats gonna happen. If Froch sets the pace, Bute will fold. If Froch tries to box from the outside he'll get picked apart. I favor Froch slightly because he's tried & true on the elite level, Bute, not so much.
Froch is much smaller than Andrade. He weighs 170 between fights. About Margarito-Cotto, what's your point? If Froch has plaster in his gloves, he may win, of course. If Bute comes in with a baseball bat, I'm confident he'll win too.
Bute is over rated himself. He is good but he's limited to watch he can do. If Froch roughs him up he'll win. Froch has already proven himself. I took notice of this guy after he beat Pascal. I had seen some of his fights before that but nothing that stood out. He proved himself with his win over Taylor aswell. Fights are fights and style are style. Just because he had a tough time with Taylor does'nt mean ****. He finished him off and that's what matters. The way he came back in that fight showed what kind of man he is. Froch is honstley one of my favorites right now. I would rather see Froch win the tourny.
Bute would not give Froch a hard time, he would beat him convincingly. I don't mind what he says, he struggled with Johnson, who was losing on points against Allan Green. Froch has been caught off balance many times against Johnson, who is not even slick. Against Bute or Ward, Froch will look amateur, he will swing the air, try to rought things up because he won't land much and will receive a lot. At least, Ward has no power, so he will be able to stay near him. Bute is another story. Froch would suffer.
Im not sure Degale would beat Kessler now but in a years time Degale will be able to beat Kessler, in 3 years time i think Degale would have unified the super middleweight divison im not jokingthis guy has got serious talent, cant wait for him to show it again on saturday....
No. Degale has one big problem: a ****ed ego. He can't evaluate himself properly. More, he doesn't know what it takes to become a world champion. I thought his defeat could have helped him but he still talks as stupidly as before.
He shouldn't quit his model career, he will go a longer way than with boxing. Degale is in the same gang than Dirrell and Dawson. Lots of talent but a lack of dedication, realism and heart.
Amzing knowledge by posters here...
Don't count St-Juste out. He is a southpaw, knows how to bang and is in a very good shape even at his age. He also has Stéphan Larouche, Bute's coach, in his corner. Larouche is excellent to elaborate a good strategy. He could surprise. On paper, Dirrel should win. He's busier and hits hard himself.
Shut up bute, you have been feeding on soft opponents the last 2.5 years while ward have been battling the best most dangerous men in the devision.
Earn the fight by fighting Froch
Of course, fighting Allan Green, Sakio Bika and Arthur Abraham is the best streak of opponents in the history of boxing.
Of course, DiBella likes the idea of a Martinez Hopkins fight: it is impossible to do! Hopkins has Dawson to fight first.
He did the same scrap with Lucian Bute, just before Martinez himself said the SMW were way too big for him. I think Martinez is right. He could easily fight at 154, the guys at 168 are huge compared to him. I hope Martinez decides for himself...
Ok Dawson is getting brobbed tomorrow.
One American, one Canadian and one British judge and you are calling for a robbery. I suppose you think that three American judges would be fair...
Well I just Boxrec'ed him and it seems at least he's on the come back trail and fighting his way back to being a contender. I respect that.
Green struggled with Sebastien Demers. He looked awful. Really. For me, he's only a tune up and a first LHW fight for Kessler. Easy win for the Dane.
I mean Kessler, Dirrell, Abraham, and Glen Johnson.
Even Allan Green is better than Jesse Brinkley and Brian Magee. :lol1:
The excuses have run out for Bute. He needs to step up now.
Allan Green. you just proved you're an idiot. Kessler may not want to fight bute. Abraham has lost 3 times and Dirrell is blackballed by Showtime. It leaves Johnson. An ok fight but nothing more.
You're wrong. What's worse is when people tell you the real facts, you still deny them. You say that Bute ducked Kessler after the Zuniga fight. That was in March 2009. Look at Kessler's record. He was not fighting because of his dispute with Palle.
The real facts are that Bute's promoter and Palle had agreed for a fight early 2009. Bute had to fight Zuniga because Kessler couldn't fight for months, until he signed with Sauerland. He then needed a tune up and that was with Perdomo. After 19 fights, Bute's tam didn't want Kessler but he was ready late 2008 and early 2009. Not his fault if Kessler took a long break.
the tournament's over so unless it's Ward no one is credible...what do they want a 3rd bout w/Miranda???
Bute hasn't fought Miranda twice and Ward has been called and clearly refused to fight Bute. Of course, people like you will say it's Bute's fault if Ward doesn't want to fight him.
Stieglitz mando could be Mendy. He will wait for him quietly and Bute will be free of facing a toughest opponent. He won't fight Kessler, unless he's sure that Mikkell is damaged goods.
guess interbox is spending the truckload of cash they don't have to give pavlik
According to Interbox, Showtime is not giving the same amount of money for the Johnson fight than for Pavlik. There is no truckload of cash to spend.
Talk about bad timing. Let's say Pascal improves his defense to bodyshots and his stamina. Let's say that Hopkins has a bit less energy and speed because he's aging. Let's say, even just for fun, that Pascal wins. HBO gets then stuck with a 3 fights contract. Wow! Bute is under contract with Showtime. He's in line to get a shot at the super 6 winner. I don't understand that move. It just doesn't work.
You know a fighter is weightdrained when he gets Ko'd by Andre Ward. Very bad mistake by Dawson to go down to 168. Who kow what would have happened in a fight at 175 pounds?
Bute has said many times he wil fight in June so BattlingNelson's interpretion is not accurate.
Kessler should ideally take a tune up fight but at the same time, each of his fights could be his last, because of his eyes.
Old news. Pascal just hurt himself to the shoulder while playing hockey. He won't fight in April. Maybe in May or June. Michel even said it would be a tune up fight, since Jean will be inactive for a full year when he steps in the ring.
Wax in an ear. Froch is preparing a strange excuse. :)
I don't think Johnson has weight problems. He said on monday it was just fine an much better than before his previou fight.
You didn't hurt my feelings.
You don't know what you're talking about. I feel sorry for you for posting something that outed you as being so ill informed.
If you think Bute's resume is better than Erdei's that's fine. However, it is quite obvious that you are wrong for the reasons I stated above.
Look at the picture of Erdei in my avatar. He is short and pudgy yet won a Cruiserweight title giving up nearly 20 lbs.
Erdei is the lightest Cruiserweight Champion of all time. In an age where Manny Pac makes every opponent drain themselves it was Zsolt Erdei who went into the ring at 178 and took out a 196 lb man who had given David Haye all he could handle.
Facts are facts. You can deny them if you want, but it will do you no good.
Cruiserweight is the worst division ever.
People need to stop acting like Kessler needs to do anything to get a shot at thew inner of the super 6. He'd still have a belt if it wasnt for injury, that means he gets a shot at whomever has it. Its simple. Why fight Bute for a shot when he is already entitled to one. If he fights Ward anywhere outside of Ward's backyard, he will beat him.
Well, Bute is giving him a shot at the IBF title. Why would he wait when he can become a champion sooner?
I think they'll use him to promote Bute. Forcing him to fight Bute without a tune up fight. If Showtime has still rights on Dirrell (that's what we've heard) because the tournament is still going on, that could be their revenge. Then drop him.
I tried to explain all this weeks ago but nobody listened.
If Showtime pays Bute to fight 3 stiffs like they have, televises the Froch fight, then loses the Ward fight to HBO they make themselves look really stupid.
Bute doesn't want the Ward fight on anything other than his own terms. I said over a year ago that Ward-Bute wasn't going to happen and would be a huge pain in the ass failure of a negotiation on every level.
Well you were wrong on one point: it is Ward who doesn't want the fight. Bute even offered to go to Oakland.
So, will we see some honesty from you?
The only way for Showtime to retain Bute is to guarantee he'll fight Ward on their broadcast. Showtime left Bute out of the super 6. When the tournament was going down the drain, they recognized their error and signed him. Bute was supposed to fight big names and none has been available. Not Bute's fault, he was waiting for them. Now that the tournament is over, they are losing Ward for HBO and want to screw Bute? This is not reasonable. If I were Bute, I'd fight Dirrell and then fight Ward on HBO.
I hope this fight happens, b/c Bute really hasnt fought anyone that good. I find it interestin that certain rankings have Bute ranked #1 over Ward, considerin Ward's last 4 fights have been good wins over Bika, Green, Kessler and Miranda. Bute beat Mrianda and Andrade, but almost got KO'd by Andrade , and has defenses over no-hopers like Brinkley and Joppy.
Bute also beat Bika and Miranda, so let's forget them, even if Bute did better than Ward against these guys. That leaves Allan Green and Mikkell Kessler. Kessler is an excellent win. Green is ****. He's not better than Zuniga, Brinkley or Magee. In fact, he's probably worse.
Saying that Green is a good win makes you look very bad.
