It is now confirmed, the world champion IBF super middleweight Lucian Bute (27-0) will make his seventh title defense on March 19. The promoter InterBox will confirm on Monday the name of Bute's opponent.

Several names of potential opponents are circulating, including that of Allan Green. However, the most persistent rumor concerns Irish contender Brian MaGee (34-3-1), who is the current European champion. Magee's last defeat dates back to 2006 and was registered at the hands of current WBC champion Carl Froch.
 
For Bute, it will be the first battle under the new agreement that binds him to the American cable network Showtime. In 2010, he defeated Edison Miranda (TKO-3) and his aspiring mandatory Jesse Brinkley (KO-9).
