Haters kill me I swear. This fight is garbage. Quit comparing Floyd's fight Chino EARNED the 1st fight and the 2nd people always try to lowball the guys Floyd fight but the are the top ranked champions not guys outside the top 10 like manny has done Several times!!!! Facts not hate! I really hate debating Manny/Floyd but when was the last time Floyd fought a pound for pound fighter? Manny has fought Marquez and Bradley twice in the last 4 fights so 3 times in his last 4 fights. The last time Floyd did was Marquez in 09. He also cheated him on the scale and making him jump 2 weight classes. Those are facts!
This fight is so crazy but I don't see how it's not entertaining. Khan basically is a no hoper but he will try. And to those complaining about this fight, who should Canelo fight? Rosado? Monroe? This will be an event. Canelo vs GGG wasn't happening next and we all know that. Khan is getting the big fight he wanted and now let's see it play out.
Your boy's been on the shelf a whole year, he ain't no spring chicken and he's going into a fight with his kryptonite.."a fighter with power"..he should be balancing this talk up somewhat..let him out perform the conversation fans are having about him. Let that man do what he do and if he wins and wins convincingly the people will talk about how impressed they are with amir but you start this now and he comes out like he did fighting diaz and good luck selling that shhh again. What power are you talking about? 18kos in 35 wins. Collazo is a tough fighter for anyone but people who think Luis is some kind of KO artist are mistaken. He caught Ortiz and Ortiz basically quit didn't even try to get up. Khan is gonna make a statement in this one. One more fight like a Garcia rematch at 47 or possible Porter then he can get Mayweather if he wins.
Why would anyone not want to watch this fight? It's guaranteed to be action packed and it's basically a 50/50 fight. If it isn't Floyd/Manny I'll take a 5th fight. Garcia fight is a mismatch, and I don't see a Porter fight happening because of Haymon. 1. Floyd 2. Marquez 3. Ruslan only because it's different but to me another mismatch that could turn into a possible war.
Great performance by Canelo but a shaky stoppage. I do think Angulo was starting to put good work in. That is because I noticeably saw Canelo start getting tired. Angulo couldn't hurt Canelo so I don't think he would of won regardless. Now for who's next Lara most likely. To me Canelo is too big for 54. I would like him to fight Kid Chocolate at 60 in July then the winner of Cotto/Martinez in November. If he can get down to 54 with no problems I do wanna see him tax up Lara.
Berto beat Dirrell in the amateurs.
Berto beat Bradley in the amateurs, twice.
None of this would happen in the pros.
Next.
what are you talking about? That has nothing to do with what I said. You're an idiot. I mentioned Bute about his chin and that Golovkin KO'd him in the amateurs. I believe the same would happen in the pros. What does Berto beating Dirrell and Bradley in the amateurs have to do with Bute? Absolutely nothing.
Oooooohhh! Haymon be corning the market on shot welterweights. Berto, Ortiz, Rios, Josesito Lopez,Devon Alexander, Amir Khan, Luis Collazo, etc. I think we can add Sammy Vazquez to that list now too
Talking all that but you forget Khan hasn't never lost as an welterweight.. Khan will and can still give people in this division problems.
That new PBC belt for the new 141 lb Haymonweight division looks nice tho
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/B_SQx0nVIAAxpiQ.jpg Yep haha or how about Garcia/Broner for the undisputed 143 catchweight PBC belt.
None has fought Maidana at 147 , except for Floyd, where he is visible stronger....just saying. Maidana still could be right though.
what? are you serious??? you dont know **** about boxing!!! all those fights were ar 147 both of you are wrong. Don't talk trash when you don't know sh** either. Lopez, Soto Karass were are 47. Morales, Khan, and Ortiz were at 40.
It works every time with these Khan fans , like I've said , Khan has like Berto LOST three times knocked senseless by Prescott , knocked from pillar to post by Garcia and beaten on points by Peterson , Although like I've said , unlike Khan, berto has only been stopped the once and never knocked senseless .Have you got the right Khan there ? He lost to Prescott and Garcia but Peterson was on something and won by controversial decision. Berto has been on his way down and Khan looks a lot better under Hunter. Khan has bigger plans in mind and Berto isn't a top fighter. Berto should worry about Lopez because I personally think he will lose that one.
Rios is a live underdog but if he couldn't make an adjustment in the 2nd Alvarado fight, he won't be able to catch up with manny in this one. Any version of Manny should be able to take care of Rios. Rios will take a lot of punishment and he will be stopped late.
maidana is bum and will get battered at ww Maidana a bum that's hilarious. He will only get better under Garcia.. dude always comes to fight and has heart like no other.
Regardless if he has changed his training ways, he will always be a clown for the racist remarks. We know he has talent but he has always been lazy and jumped trainer to trainer. Blames everyone else but himself. Teo is another clown, I used to like both of these fighters and I will always root against them now. You can be funny and fun to watch without the racist stuff.
canelo has a week to lose 5.4 pounds
he is in deep trouble and he is going to lose this fight BAD! people don't realize that losing that much weight in that short amount of time is unhealthy and just plain not a good idea
for one thing, losing 5.4 pounds in one week is already hard as hell to do, and another thing, he's going to end up losing muscle in the process, its pretty much guaranteed
canelo is weight drained and much weaker for this fight on account of having to cut so much weight so quickly
floyd by a WIDE decision, canelo's lucky to win a round canelo will be fine weight wise. I believe he won't be drained. Jus one week I can't wait for Mattysse to KO Garcia and the great matchup between Floyd and Canelo. They both have their advantages and I Expect a really good fight.
No they are a slight exaggeration and Ill admit that but my point stands. People go on like Froch should be Top 10 P4P but tell me what has he done to deserve it more than Miguel Cotto or even a Richard Abril. He has fought the best of the best the past few years. Beat pascal(undefeated at the time), Taylor, Abraham(only loss was a DQ against Dirrell), A revenge win over Kessler, close win over Dirrell that could have went either way and also Bute(undefeated). Froch deserves all the credit and rightfully so. This fight is too early for Groves and is not ready for Carl. In another year I would give Groves a better chance but I just think it isn't the right time. Also Miguel Cotto is my favorite fighter out there but he doesn't deserve a pound for pound spot. And Abril he's a good fighter but that's hilarious.
I don't like this, but I must admit it's true. Other than GGG, Cotto, or Canelo, Amir Khan is probably the leading candidate. Khan has more fans than GGG, and we've already seen Mayweather beat Cotto, Canelo, and Pacquiao. I would much rather see Floyd fight GGG @ 154, but I can't guarantee that the fight would do better than Floyd vs. Khan. It's just sad that Khan didn't step up and beat Brook, just like he didn't step up and beat Alexander before Porter took his belt. It seems Khan is protecting himself with Diaz, Collazo, Alexander, and Algeri, when Floyd is fighting Cotto, Canelo, Maidana, and Pacquiao. Khan really should beat a big named talent at 147, or at least grab a belt @ 147, before he gets a shot, but unfortunately, I feel Floyd is running out of options! If Khan would of stepped up and beat Brook, he would of been deserving to fight Floyd. The issue is there is no one who has put himself ahead of the pack. Khan is up there with Thurman and Porter. I honestly would give Porter the edge, but I doubt Floyd would give him the shot. Khan will bring in the most money and that's the reason he most likely will land Floyd.
I don't think Cotto understands the concept of hyping a fight. he doesn't need to hype any fight. He's a class act and always pulls in big numbers. He even did 250k PPV against mayorga. This fight will sell very well I see around 700k maybe even more.
Ok I get what everyone is saying but actually listen to what the interviewer is saying. He said its nothing compared to trying to take over after Floyd. 4 titles in 4 weight classes is an accomplishment but why I don't care is Broners mouth. No one was bashing him but after the interviewer said nothing Broner went full defensive without thinking of what was actually said. Broner will never be Floyd and is one of the most overrated, lazy fighters in the sport. I'd put him up there with Chavez Jr. I hope he proves me wrong but I just haven't seen it until this point.
interesting fight but honestly im kinda of tired Judah fighting. I dont see HBO or showtime picking it up. Maybe NBC Sports because of Judahs Promoter.
He is already as recognized as Cotto....at 21 years young !!! Nobody knew Cotto at that age. Has a better record than cotto too. Of course he has less experience, he is younger !!!! Cotto is afraid of canelo and chavez.:peeright: your comment is a joke.. canelo is a good young talented fighter but he is no way more recognized than Cotto. Let Canelo fight someone first. Cotto stops Canelo if they fight now.
Go ruin what's left of Khans career by getting him fights at 147, is blatant promoters trying to create their own paycheck. Khan has not beaten the top fighters at 140. He had controversial wins over Maidana & Erik Morales, most felt he lost both to. He beat a scared Zab Judah who wouldn't fight. He got drummed by Lamont Peterson, and got train wrecked by Garcia. Now you want to pit him with some of the best fighters at 147 (minus tomatoe can Malignaggi who's nothing), and the likes of Alexander and Guerrero who walk in to the ring fight night weighing close to a hydrated 155-160lbs, will end Khan's career. Look what happened when they moved up a very hungry, heavy hitter/killer like Marcos Maidana, who found out that no better than Alexander really is, he's still too big for a Maidana. They too will ruin Maidana's career if they are dead set on a fighter with Canello. This is all about promoters finding stupid management teams willing to make the wrong, I'll-advised fights, so these promoters can create their own selfish payday. That's just malpractice! I need to be smoking whatever u been smoking.. that bein said get ur facts straight.. the problem with Khan is his defense. Hes so talented but fights like no one can touch him. People will pay to watch cause he's exciting but he needs to start fighting with a new strategy no more fighting toe to toe with everyone. he's gonna jus get caught fighting like that.
Really there is actually people that think Martinez is scared?that's hilarious.. Martinez is one of the best fighters in the world for a reason. As much as Jr. Has improved, I don't think he is ready for Martinez but we'll see.
Looking at the final punch stat report, Algieri in fact does not land 'far more'. He lands slightly more overall. And Provodnikov was the 'busier' fighter throughout. So I guess landing 80 more punches and throwing 200 more means Algieri was the less active fighter. Makes sense.
Cotto I'd the third highest ppv star and fought Pac and mayweather. yea ward is mad, but cottos not only been built up, he's been in 3 ppvs and is constantly relevant in the sport. Ward might be better, but cotto is by far the bigger star... hes actually been in closer to 6 or 7 ppvs I'm not for sure.
