Really. I know something about boxing RJJ, and Hrgoivc beat Zhang on points ( the knock down called against him was BS ) and had not lost many rounds in any fight. And he has taken six underfed records in 16 for fights.
You under rater Hrgoivc's will for battle. He will walk right through Usyk's punches , and he had the size, reach, punch output., accuracy and speed to cause him problems. And the power to hurt him when he lands.
He is in his prime now. Usyk will be 37 soon, but he is without a doubt a top 3 heavyweight today.
Oh by the way it is an open secret that Usky does not take a good body punch, which Hrgovic has. Remember that. I'm not saying Usyk has no chance. I am saying it highly likely he will box circlers around him. Only an idiot believes that.
I will do a breakdown of the fight once it's an absolute go. In the man time, keep up the player hating.
Dr. Z had a really good post.
I would like to show basically the same thing from different angle, which is often not looked at all. As I wrote in one other thread where they were talking how Usyk will destroy Hrgovic.
I see that you are greatly underestimating Hrgovic chances against Usyk. Everything is in how someone match up with someone, and Hrgovic has chances against Usyk since he learned how to handle shorter and shifty fighters. That is one of his strongest sides actually.
To illustrate that, do yourself a favour and check on youtube Hrgovic fight against Sergey Kuzmin (European gold medalist in 2010... Usyk was in 2008 and Hrgovic was European gold medalist in 2015 ), Kuzmin looked in that fight like a random a guy they took from a bar. Then find Sergey Kuzmin fight against Joe Joyce where he knocked out Joyce.
What happened? Well, Kuzmin was a terrible match up for Joyce, as someone in comments said: Short Heavyweight with punch and good hand speed are nightmare for Joyce.
Well, Kuzimin is not even that short, he is the height of Usyk (and nowhere near as good as Usyk, of course) ... however, that was a perfect height difference for (much younger) Hrgovic who was literally mercilessly beating Kuzmin for the whole 5 rounds (BTW, just to mention, Klitschko was the all time greatest master in handling shorter fighters)
Later, in professional career Kuzmin lost against Martin Bakole and Michael Hunter (his only two losses), so it's clear he is not such a big class, but he is still a serious fighter who matches up badly against a Hrgovic.
For the end, perhaps you remember that Michael Hunter was supposed to fight Hrgovic in IBF final eliminator and was happy about it .. and suddenly he gave up of the fight. What happened? He and his team analyzed Hrgovic and noticed that he is great at handling shorter fighters and concluded they really don't need that kind of fight.
In short, to me Usyk Hrgovic looks like the fight that can easily go either way, due to Usyk being a good fit for Hrgovic. Actually, as strange as it sounds, perhaps Hrgovic is actually, favorite in that fight, as Dr. Z say ... since he is definitely better expert then me.
