By the time they may fight for a 3rd time Usyk will be at least 38! As such a 3rd match will do little for AJ's legacy.
As of 3-16-24, I view the top 4 heavyweights as Usyk, Hrgovic, Joshua, and for now Fury.
You are....
Oh I get it
What we basing this on?
Video and facts. He has not been Ko'd in the amateurs or pro's and faced a ton of punchers.
His last five opponent's were 119-2-3 !!! Four if theses men were undefeated until facing Hrgovic.
Hrgoivc does attract the naysayers, or haters. But they tend to fail to explain their reasoning and cross reference past heavyweight champions when they had 17 total fights.
If Joshua was a level below Uysk 'He would not of fought in two competitive fights over 24 rounds. Joshua in the rematch was the most improved of the two fighters'.
If the third fight was made? The likely-hood is that many people would still give Joshua a serious chance of beating Usyk.
Would you honestly with absolutely certainty back Uysk to beat Joshua, if the 3rd fight was called next? 'No, you would not'.
Note: I agree that Oleksandr Usyk thus-far in his heavyweight career, head to head has proven he was the better fighter than Anthony Joshua. But the battle between the top-4 Heavyweights is still on going, why are you such in a hurry to push Joshua aside? I am sure other people the boxing community have notice this behaviour? They want this era to reach its conclusion real quick, before potentially Joshua gets another chance at fighting for a Heavyweight title.
Anthony Joshua was beaten twice by Oleksandr Uysk, he was not brutally beaten up or decked 'The losses were not serve, and they actually solidified his level in the game'.
Whether people believe Joshua is the best Heavyweight out of the top-4, that is their personal opinion.
But for sure, Anthony Joshua's level as Heavyweight fighter and Champion is no mystery 'Joshua is the most component pure boxer, outside of both Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Uysk. And he is also statistically the most proven and experienced Heavyweight at fighting Elite to World level fighters'.
The battle between the top-4 fighters to see who the last man standing of this era, is still on going 'Anthony Joshua is still in that competition, people need to accept this. Joshua is still here, one of the mountains of this Heavyweight era is still standing and dangerous' etc.

Anyone who saw the saw the Olympic match knows he won that fight and beat Yoka. AJ is not a bum, but he is clearly a level below Usyk. We don't know that about Hrgovic. Both Fury and Wilder are frauds who agreed not to tell on each others drugs test.... so.

Zhang and McKean DID not have greater reach than Hrgovic. But you are tight when you say Hrgovic can punish them up close or at range.
Dr Z, we agree. Perhaps I wasn't clear, but I also stated that Hrgovic had reach advantage even with tall fighters like Mckean and Zhang.
Here are the details. (Height is 6 ft 6 in for all 3 of them):
Hrgovic reach 82 in
Mckean reach 77 in
Zhang reach 80 in
To put that into context, Hrgovic has a bit bigger reach even then a Klitschko brothers.
On the other side AJ has the same reach as Hrgovic, 82 in. So neither of the fighters will have any advantage.
They both have good fundamentals, but AJ have much more experience and is a bit better in most of the things. However, Hrgovic has a better chin and almost certainly hits harder, so fight will certainly be very competitive.
I said 3 regarding Hrgovic chances, but if we want to put that into percentage, I would say 35% is about right.
What ****ing sense does that make if you give Hrgovic a 7 that means a 70% chance of winning then you say you'd favour Joshua what?
If you're using the 1 to 10 in a quantitative matter, then 7 out of 10 would be 70% I suppose, but I took the OP scale to be qualitative, meaning 1 = A poor chance of winning and 10 = an excellent chance of winning.
I assumed if the OP wanted just a percentage base, he could have asked what chance you give Hrgovic and dropped the entire rating from 1 to 10 altogether. Using the 1 to 10 rating system on a quantitative basis would mean none of us could say Hrogvic has a 0% chance of winning, such as if AJ were to fight you or me.
When I say 7, I merely state that Hrgovic has a good chance to win, but I would favor AJ in a match-up.
About a 7, young and big heavyweight with pedigree. I would only slightly favor AJ to win by a controversial decision or very late stoppage.
What fucking sense does that make if you give Hrgovic a 7 that means a 70% chance of winning then you say you'd favour Joshua what?
He is much better than Gudio. To compare the two is laughable. He is a legit top ten ring magazine rated heavyweight , and talents such as Parker, Ruiz, Hunter and company passed on his manager opportunity to fight him. Grade B or C?
I do not doubt he has his share if detractors, some of whom are haters others think he is just sightly above Guido. I get the picture.
Hrgovic is a very average fighter. He has some things like amateur experience, decent size, isn't completley glass chinned.
But he's had the easiest route to a world title shot imaginable and his team has chosen to sit on that shot and not entertain taking any risks whatsoever.
That tells you everything about their confidence in him and I fully belive he will fare only marginally better than Tony Yoka as a pro when all is said and done.
I'm not trolling you. Did you read my last reply to you? I mean what I wrote, no kidding.
My view of Vianello is negative, he's a C-level heavyweight, but I don't rate Hrgovic like him. Still, for all of his background, you must admit that Filip is not really impressing as a professional. But he's got the time to prove me wrong. Winning a belt will be a nice step up, even though one must also consider HOW you win it. If he becomes IBF champ in a stinker, I'm not respecting him more only because he won a trinket, if you get my point.
A pie is a pie... I'll have it crusty! :)
There is an extra $1.50 charge for cursty pie's and a 2% of the bill charge if you are using a credit card. But I have some pull with the owner. For you this pie is that four letter word that starts with F as in Free.
Anthony Joshua has been the favourite for every single fight, he has ever fought in 'Accept maybe Joshua vs Usyk II'.
Most people would most likely back Joshua to beat Hrgovic 'But for sure it is a live and serious fight'.
This is not one of those type of fights 'Where people can back track, and discredit Joshua if he wins'.
Hrgovic is proven as a Amateur winning the Olympic Bronze Medal, and he has carried on this trajectory into the professional ranks 'With big wins over Zhang, although yes it was a close fight'.
The generation of Heavyweights just below Fury, Joshua and Wilder 'Hrgovic is one of the main fighters from that generation. Hrgovic's aspiration as a fighter for a long time, has been to challenge and dethrone Fury, WIlder of Joshua'.
Anthony Joshua as I have stated in some of my previous posts 'Joshua is one of the mountains of this Heavyweight era. There have been three Heavyweight mountains, fighters who all contenders aspired to challenge and conquer'.
Note: Flip Hrgovic as a fighter shares similar traits with Anthony Joshua 'Both of their games is built up from having solid fundamentals, being technically correct and not producing a high number of enforced errors'.
I can envision this fight, being a very high level skill for skill fight 'Not a messy, wrestling type of fight'. And I just believe in those type fights, if Joshua continues building his momentum in training 'Joshua will excel in those match ups, against most of the other Heavyweights in the Division'.
Although Joshua predominately prefers to fight at mid to long range, Joshua has been displaying a improved ability to wrestle on the inside vs his opponents. I have always thought that Joshua needed to develop this aspect of his game, especially as a Super Heavyweight 'It is a basic skill, being able to wrestle on the inside and disrupt your opponents work'.
So to conclude: Joshua will most likely be the favourite, but that does not mean it is not a serious challenge 'It is a solid fight' etc.

Well, I don't know your view of Vianello, but he wasn't viewed as the #1 amateur at super heavyweight. Nor has he fought and beaten amateur or pro completion Hrgovic. I don't know any smart fan who considers Hrgovic a " grade C " heavyweight. Are you trolling me a tad? I'll serve you pie. How do you like your humble pie, with extra crow or crusty?
A world champion ( IBF ) is next for Hrgovic.

"Slightly above" still means that I consider him better than Vianello - not a difficult task, indeed :lol1:
Seriously, I do give Hrgovic a puncher's chance if he fights AJ (and I'm NOT a Joshua fan, mind you). As always, I'm willing and ready to eat a good slice of humble pie if I am proven wrong at the end, and Filip turns out to be a true champion.

Also, whatever the level of Filip's detractors, let me tell you that I respect your loyalty to him very much, especially because I never see you losing your cool and calling people names just to discuss a fighter.

Same here, at the end of the day. It's more Joshua's fight to lose than Hrgovic's to win. As I said several times in past threads, I see Hrgovic just slightly above the B/C-level heavyweights. Guido Vianello and the likes, I mean, you get the picture.
