Sturm vs. Abraham won't happen any time soon. UBP (Sturm's promoting company) already expressed that they're not interested in arranging a fight with King Arthur.
We'll prolly see new excuses coming up over the following months in case Sauerland (Abrahams promoter) sends new offers to UBP but the fight won't happen. It's sad but I think Abraham should see if there are interesting fights at middleweight left and if he can neither get Pavlik nor Sturm he should move to SMW.
Nothing to worry about. His lower lip suffered from a cut, that's why there was so much blood on his face. The ring doctor explained that it looked far more serious than it actually was.
Furthermore he wasn't in the ring for over three full years from 2004 to 2007. He had his last fight before the one yesterday over eleven months ago. Certainly not hype-worthy :-)
First posting here at boxingscene :-) I hope that Huck will show some improved defense and a better jab and win convincingly get back on the road for an world championship shot in the long run. Any participants for live scoring?
The fight won't take place today, Abraham is ill. More information:

"He's coming up Johnny, he's coming up"
"Listen to me Roy" (confusing his fighter John Ruiz with the opponent Roy JJr)
"Fight this mother****er, fight him"
"The referee is taking the title away from you, **** the referee"
"The ref sucks, **** the referee"
Classic quotes from former Ruiz trainer Norman Stone. I could watch this video every day and I would still have to laugh hard:

Basically every fight in the middle of his carreer including the first Miranda fight. After Miranda I the guy who sang Abraham's smurf entrance song didn't want to sing it anymore due the bloody nature of the fight and the controversy in the press that followed.
I think at this point they decided to go for a new nickname and drop the smurf moniker.
By the way that is a paid actor in the picture pretending to be a doctor.
Sorry, but it looks like it's Dr. Walter Wagner, who is usually the ring doctor for Sauerland Event fights.
Pavlik-Abraham would make a lot of money considereing the PPV buys it would generate in Germany. Also them Germans will drop their cash, and it would probably break records there.
No.
PPV in Germany does not work out, we get boxing here for free, so nobody except very few hardcore fans would pay for it here.
Yeah, whatever Abraham.
That's why you called out De La Hoya after the Miranda fight.
I personally think that calling out Oscar was a comment that shouldn't be taken too seriously. AA prolly wanted to express that he would knock Oscar out and wouldn't let it go to the scorecards. So he was more making fun of Felix Sturm than seriously thinking that Oscar would fight him.
We should put the whole postponement topic to a rest.
AA pulled out of the Marquez fight really late as he was sick due being weight drained @ 160lbs. Dirrel might have injured his back in sparring. Even if he did not: the fight has moved to a bigger location, so that's a plus from my side.
Abraham had his first fight in front of a hometown crowd in Berlin so it's fair that Dirrel gets a fight in front of his fans. Furthermore there are enough seats for every Armenian who's willing to travel all the way to Detroit.
Dirrel is simply a bad style matchup for the King but I nevertheless hope that he can pull off the win. In case Abraham loses, I'm still confident that he can knock out Froch due the Englishman's questionable defence and make it into the semifinals. Froch vs. Abraham should be a barn burner and there's nothing better to make a name for yourself than fighting abroad in front of a hostile crowd and knocking your opponent out.
I'm really hyped up for Dirrel vs. Abraham, bring it on!
