Super middleweight Arthur Abraham is waiting for his fight with Carl Froch to get rescheduled to a new date on the 2010 calendar. They were due to fight on October 2 in Monaco. A postponement was necessary when Froch suffered an injury to his back in training camp. The new rumored date for the fight is November 27. Abraham told reporter Alexander Pavlov that he isn't convinced that Froch is injured.
"My handlers are addressing this issue [of a new date]," said Abraham. "It should happen this year. The opponent said that he had a sore back. This was the reason for postponing our meeting. He says he is injured, but in the end we can't be fully sure. When a person does not want to box, he always finds an excuse. You can always go to the doctor and get a letter."
Abraham has not fought since a March disqualification loss to Andre Dirrell. He is not happy with the postponement because it's never a good thing to be inactive for so long. Abraham's fight with Froch is part of the Super Six Boxing Classic.
"I have not been in the ring for six to seven months and in my experience it becomes tough. I don't like such breaks [in time]. Only when Edison Miranda broke my jaw, I had an eight month break. I'm used to boxing every three to four months," Abraham said.
"The Super Six is a very interesting tournament. But there are drawbacks. In particular, the management of it is strongly dependent on the boxers.
