Harder puncher? He was a career Lighteweight outside of his last 7 or bouts.
career lightweight? Mosley has fought almost half his career (past 10 years and 20 fights to be exact) at 147/154? What the hell are you talking about?
I personally think that margarito had the plaster in the cotto fight. I also think that plaster or not miguel cotto will never be the same after that fight. If I'm wrong and he can still be the old miguel cotto, he saw the mosley fight like the rest of us. Its pretty obvious how to beat margarito (with or without the quickcrete in the gloves) and thats to go forward, bang his body then his head, then hold like a mofo.
it also has to be noted that mosely was given steroids without realizing that it was steroids. Following investigations it was found that the drugs he was using were pushed on him without proper disclosure of what was in them. This is why mosley was never suspended for the steroid use.
Your right about that but don't forget that he was a guy who jumped from lightweight straight to welterweight. Also out of all of Shanes win's at lightweight only one was won by decision. His KO percentage in the welter weight division and above was less than 50%. Out of his 20 fights above lightweight only 9 of them were won by KO. Not exactly the same KO percantage as Tony's was at welterweight. He has 27 KO's in 43 pro bouts which is way over 50%
point well taken. But Tony's 62% ko record in 43 fights isn't that much better than 9 of 20. Also, don't forget, one of those KO's was tony margarito. Mosley has never been KO'ed at any weight. Cotto's KO percentage dropped drastically after going up just from 140 to 147. Shane is harder puncher than you are giving him credit for. 4 of those fights that he didn't ko his opponent were agains winky wright and vernon forrest. No shame in that. Tony wouldn't have knocked those guys out either. Another fight was against cotto and he had cotto on the run at the end of the fight. Also he had a couple no contests one of which may very well have ended in KO's (raul marquez and the first vargas fight).
"let me pour this water on your balls"
-erik morales' trainer to morales in the corner. There was no miisconstued meaning either. He actually was pouring water on his nuts at the time.
-Bernard Hopkins to larry merchant after the Morrade Hakkar fight.
"who are you to tell me that I don't know what I'm talking about. You make a living on tv running your mouth about things you don't know about every day."
"the say the fight is stop because I get knock down...I do not feel there was knock down... Ehh they should not have stop fight."
-Darchinyian after getting koed by donaire
Hatton is being underestimated alot. Maybe he should even be the favourite.
Hatton struggles against southpaws and mannys speed will give him problems but Pacquiao has been knocked out with bodyshots before and hatton has good power and is a body puncher.
Pacquiao hasnt really fought anyone serious above 130 either
exactly which body shot did pac get knocked out by?
2 be honest there isnt much quality materaial worth watching.he is exciting 2 watch due 2 his style but hasnt fought anyone of note and is way 2 easy 2 hit 2 be a world class fighter imo,the taylor fight will show a lot good or bad
seems to me that maybe a step up fight might be better for him. Maybe Librado Andrade or Jeff Lacey.
Jeez, I wanted to get a rise out of you guys. Anywho. I think that hatton has trouble with fighters who are bigger than he is. Pac walked into that DLH fight at a fit 148. He also is primed to fight pressure fighters like hatton. Fights with guys like JMM and Morales he has gotten nothing but better at dealing with hard pressure. Of course he has a chance but, imo, its slim.
What do you guys (british guys that is) think about this Carl Froch guy. I've only seen him once and honestly he seems a little chumpish. Any good youtubes I should see from this guy?
missing the mark
I don't understand why we are spending so much time talking about the business side of boxing? This is an interesting fight. I think Danny Garcia is a grade A old school philly fighter and Matthysse is a dump truck. Forget about the money and whose fault it is. This fight is way more interesting than half the stuff on tv. But, GB is involved so it likely won't happen. They only put their fighters in hard fights by accident. This one is way too obvious...if this fight doesn't happen its GBP's fault...not the fighters.
Adrien Broner needs to get beaten before he will get any better. He hasn't shown ANY improvement in his last several fights. He does the exact same thing. Stands flat footed in a philly shell, walks straight forward, and lashes out like a cobra. Someone who is his size and is a good solid boxer with a bit of power who can stay in and bang with him a bit is gonna kick his a$$. When (i'm saying when) that happens, broner will either listen to his trainers (and manager...how much does Al Hayman hate broner right now) and develop some of his natural talents into skill or he will go the way of Roy Jones Jr. Once his natural talent doesn't automatically win him fights he will have to rely on his non-existent boxing skills. Broner actually reminds me a lot of another guy who was physically superior to everyone else and won titles when he was in his early twenties and talked mad s*** until he ran into Tito Trinidad....ring any bells?
