WBA welterweight champion Adrien Broner (27-0, 22KOs) appeared on Power 105 radio and discussed several subjects - including the possibility of fighting his idol Floyd Mayweather, the recent victory over Paulie Malignaggi, critics who believe he parties too much and dating Malignaggi's ex-girlfriend Jessica.
Broner: "I don't care what kind of dollar amount they offer, I'm not going to fight my big brother."
"We talk about this all the time, he says 'now everybody just want you to fight me. I told him to forget what they're talking about. He's going to get his money and I'm going to get my money. We don't have to make that happen. We won't make that happen."
On The Win Over Malignaggi
Broner: "I talked to my big bro and he thought I could have did more and that's cool. I take everything he says and I listen to him. He did it for 17 years and he's still on top. A lot of people think that because Paulie can't hit that I should have knocked him out, but he is a crafty fighter."
On Enjoying The Clubs Too Much
Broner: "A lot of people don't know Adrien Broner. A lot of people don't hang with Adrien Broner every single day. I want people to think that all I do is party. A lot of people don't see the hard work that I do. All they see is me partying and they think I never train, and that's what I want them to think."
"The difference between me and big bro [Mayweather], he was flamboyant and arrogant but he was more professional with it. He called me yesterday and that's what we talked about. We talked for about two hours. He wants me to clean it up. At the end of day, if it ain't broke don't fix it. A lot of people don't see what I do. I know that at some point I'm going to have to stop, get rid of all the flaws to get to the point of big bro."
Response To Critics on Dating Jessica and How She Wasn't That Good Looking
Broner: "Everyone has their different opinon but in the dark you don't see nobody....it's all about the feeling. You better keep a lot of things secret because if I see that you in love with somebody and you two broke up, and then I can slip in - I'll slip through that crack. The whole fight I was telling him 'you can't hit me and I'm beating her.' He's in love with her. I know. She showed me too much [as proof of that], she showed me bank statements."
