Good post,i remember Ricky saying before the Collazo fight he felt strong at his new weight, his punches are more powerful and he can move better,as soon as Collazo outboxed and hurt Hatton,Hatton moved down, and says he dnt want to move up again,i think Collazo dishearted him in moving up
Hatton never intended to move up in the first place. He had already been training to fight Juan Lazcano, but Juan got injured in training, so they went with plan B on short notice. Fighting Collazo was not the best thing to do in terms of presenting yourself to an American audience, since he is slick, skilled, taller and probably stronger than Ricky. Hatton won the fight on activity, but looked shaky in doing so. The late preparation and bad dieting didn't help either, but the fact is - he beat him. Hatton's only reason for being at Welterweight is Mayweather. All these mutant Welterweights like Margo and Williams don't belong in the same ring as Hatton, those are mismatches. Mayweather is a different case. Both are similarly matched physically - and neither is a natural welterweight. The only other big guys Hatton would probably face are De La Hoya (for obvious reasons) or Cotto. I sincerely doubt he'll be fighting the likes of Margo or Williams.
