At the end of the day, coming from a Floyd fan who is upset at the choice of his next opponent. Floyd fought who he was supposed to fight as soon as he could, as soon as it made the most business sense, as soon as Arum was out of the picture. And before you bite my head off, the guys who Floyd didn't fight(all Top rank guys coincidentally), ended up, imo, not mattering. Margarito does not matter, and imo he would have just been taking up space as a "he doesn't count cause he's a cheater" kind of win on Floyd's resume.
Imo, Cotto is nothing on Floyd's resume. He wouldn't have been nothing if he was an 07-08 win, or a 2012, 2013, 2014 whatever. Same difference. A fighter who's okay, but loses to good fighters, and is nowhere near being great. Margarito was an okay fighter who was cheating, therefore he was "good" in his prime, but again, like Cotto, not a great fighter.
So Floyd missed out on having two okay fighters on his resume that I would have mentioned right along with Judah, Baldomir, Gatti. Imo Marquez is a greater win than Cotto or Margarito. And he proved he ended up being a better fighter than people gave him credit for(including myself) in 9/2009, by beating the "#1" WW, "#1 P4P fighter", "FOTD" Manny pacquaio 2 years after that shut out performance that seemingly looked like he didn't belong at that weight when in fact he just didn't belong in the same ring as the guy who shut him out, something both Cotto and Margarito failed to do(beating Pacquiao).
Floyd has better names on his resume than Cotto and Margarito. And imo, Marquez is a greater win than Pacquaio because Marquez>Pacquiao. The fight of the decade happened, and it was Mayweather vs Marquez. The next best fight is Mayweather vs Martinez. Move along Pacquiao, you don't belong in the same ring as Floyd, you f*cking fraud. Good luck with Bradley, cause you're gonna need it.
Ah man, I love my posts :lol1:
