Quillin loses by TKO. His offense is good as he's able to mix fast body and head combinations, and he works on timing his opponent throughout the fight. However, he NEVER adapts defensively throughout a fight. It's painful for me to watch the same punch repeatedly land on someone with no adjustment whatsoever. Cotto is a legit champion, and with his speed and power, Pete would go night night by rd 7.
Speed kills. Can't hit what you can't see. That being said I find it's easier to train for speed than for power, so it'd be nice to be born with that Maidana type of heavy handed power where even glancing blows give the wibblies... "AND THE WOBBLIES!"
I think Margarito out of recent guys.
I don't know maybe Singsurat or Torrecampo? Out of recent opponents being last 4? Maybe Cotto was most competitive for the longest duration (being 2 and a half rounds), as oppose to a couple 20 sec durations of Margarito landing a few shots. Clottey was beat up the least, but he also never really attempted to win, so it depends on what you're looking for.
Cuz Weightclasses/limits dont mean anything to Pactard or Flomo. Come in 6lb over? No probs!! Need a 140belt? np make a CW at 143.
Why are people so shocked or outraged when people make CW's? He can make it at 140 if you want, but he will come in 144-145
Has Pac ever come in overweight?
I'm a huge pacquiao fan, but as a bigger fan to the sport of boxing, I'm hoping for the best man to win (which will be mayweather). Why would Pac fans want Pac's biggest rival out there to lose and not allow Pac any credit for winning if they do meet? Makes no sense.
Personally I'd probably have to go with Haye. I hate to say it, but he's more of a heavweight than Adamek. He's got the size, speed, and power to give him a half decent shot against most heavyweights. If he only had half the heart of Adamek he'd be a real problem.
i got no fights man thats why am asking what the hells up.. and man if your for real id be there in a flash cause **** is getting ridiculous.. i live in the u.k though
I take it back, I think you're ready for the pros...
Roy Jones and Tarver are both incredibly insightful. I was shocked at how much I was enjoying Tarver's commentary. Gus Johnson doesn't know enough about boxing in my book, and neither does Al Bernstein. Personally I think Steve Farhood is way better than Bernstein, Johnson, and that 'special' guy HBO hired, Max Kellerman. These days Lampley isn't so bad, he kinda sons the shit out of Max from time to time, and Merchant, who I believe is personally killing the sport with his cynicism (does he even like boxing anymore?), is pretty hilarious and worth watching. And I can go either way on Steward, sometimes he's dead on, sometimes he's biased and I kind of hate him as a trainer 50% of the time.
Hahah Elie is hilarious for getting in there with him. That's not easy, I'm sure it's terrifying. He threw some decent punches, but you can see it's too scary to commit to any of them because James is just waiting for him to overcommit. Lucky dude, he earns my respect for getting in there.
You are way wrong on Al Bernstein, the dude has been involved in Boxing for many decades and is very knowledgable about the game, moreso than most commentators. He was even in Rocky V back in 1990, hes been around a long time.
"You are way wrong" is not a very good argument. And I never doubted how old the dude is. I didn't doubt how ugly he is either. Yes, the man has been in the game a very long time, but I still rarely agree with what he sees. He often calls out the wrong punch, misses what's happening on the inside, and most importantly, he chose the worst of all Rocky movies to be in. I do however like him more than Max Kellerman. I'd rather watch his awful scene in Rocky Balboa 10 times in a row than listen to him get lost in another never ending analogy. By the time he's done making a point, he's missed half the action.
Funny thing is, Toney was sweating and gassed LOL.
Hahah I noticed that too. I'm really hoping he just finished some round robin sparring or something. Maybe they just didn't show all of Elie's highlights?
That's ridiculous. Floyd is fighting a southpaw (which we've seen him struggle against in the past), world title holder, 10 years his jr, and if that wasn't enough it will make for an exciting fight because Ortiz comes forward and creates opportunities. As inactive as Floyd is these days I find this a great fight, and proof that he's planning on fighting Pacquiao in the near future. ESPN has an annoying habit of ripping on the all time greats of our generation, but they will be there to do a 60 min special on how great they were 20 years from now..
Sadly this kid probably is for real. You see it all the time in the amateurs, sometimes these kids really do have talent too, that's the saddest part! You get to rd 2 in some tournament, you look at the bout sheet to read up on which gym your opponent is from, and it says 'unattached'. You think to yourself, 'how the crap did this dude not bother getting a trainer and sticking with a gym before signing up for this?', and next thing you know the dude is missing 2 teeth and all his friends and family came out to see him get batted from one post to the other until the ref calls it off. You can usually tell when they're warming in the back with a wifebeater and basketball shoes...
I think you're way off on Bernstein, the guy is one of the most avid and knowledgeable boxing fans out there. I can't stand Farhood's voice, so nasally. I also love Merchant because if it is a bad night of boxing, Merchant will riff on it until it's worth watching.
Bernstein always calls it wrong. He had a good night for Agbeko/Mares, but he's so off more often than not. I don't know if it's his vision or what. And Farhood's voice is an acquired taste I guess. He reminds me of Egon from Ghostbusters, I don't mind it. If you get past his voice, he's far more knowledgeable than Bernstein and Gus Johnson combined. Just because they hand Bernstein a script and let him redub the classics like Joe Louis fights and Sugar Ray, doesn't mean he's actually involved with the sport as in-depth as other commentators. Farhood does telecasts for local shows and broadway boxing, he's always pretty involved with the amateurs as well. Hell, even Gus Johnson will occasionally call a Golden Gloves tourney.
He seems to be taking this fight serious.. I hope he keeps it up and makes the fight with Bhop or tarver happen.
Ps. I don't know how to post an image up but here is the link.

Holy hell is this real?! If so that's amazing! One of my top 10 all time favorite fighters and he's looking good. I doubt he can still hang with the likes of BHop, but there's got to be some easy pickins out there for him to get a quick comeback going.
You guess? Or you don't know? I'll need a list of all your fights, your stance, weight class, etc. I can put you on one of my undercards later this month if you're ready....
What promotion company do you work for, and why would you have a pic of Lou Dibella on your profile? Wouldn't that be like Pacquiao putting up a pic of Mayweather on his boxingscene account? (I'm assuming they both post here)
BANG, BANG, BANG, LMAO. What the hell is that?
Ahahahah that was terrible. All of them had bad nights, I guess Jim was just borrowing some Joe Rogan tactics and trying to make the fight seem better than it was. My favorite quote is still Lennox going "OHHHHHH, HE GAVE HIM THE WIBBLIES ..... AND THE WOBBLIES!!!!"

And like I said, I enjoy Merchant for the same reason. He's hilarious, my only problem is that he's also ripping in when it's a good night of boxing. He's kind of the comedy relief for me, that will occasionally drop a gem of commentary if you can get past all of his misquotes (there are usually at least 4 per telecast).
This thread is for talking about Danny Green's dazzling boxing career, not how hot he is. If you want to talk about that, you should join us in the Oscar De La Hoya p4p thread, where we're discussing boxers we'd like to sex up. No homo.
How many times has Valuev's name been mentioned in that conversation? I'd go look for myself, but I have an image to maintain.
