but isnt' that the only way to promote it to boxing fans and people that at least follow boxing a bit...the avg sports fan really does not know much about pac and would have been turned off by this de la hoya interview imo.
Hard to make a pick right now with jones/calzaghe just around the corner. Jones took down a washed up tito but I am curious to see what he has left against Calzaghe.
I think zaghe is gonna retire after the jones fight. And even if he didn't theres no way he would step in the ring with a young lion like Dawson too much risk and not enough money. I think only way joe doesnt retire is if a big money fight comes up where there isn't much risk. he has defintely said on a number of occasions he wants to retire undefeated.
I dont think there is any question a healthier pavlik would have at least made the fight more competitive but the result would have still ended with a bhop win. I think even pavlik at 160 and bhop at 160 bhop would still win as hopkins is way to slick for pavlik.
nothing was wrong with pavlik outside of the fact that he doesn't exactly have the body to be moving up past 160 and still being good. He wasn't bale to get off his punches because hopkins was moving away from his right hand. hopkins foot work was super and he was able to confuse pavlik.
I think it's very important for pavlik to get back in the ring asap and take care of business. He is not as bad as he looked that night whether it be a combination of the sickness, weight and bhop being too slick he still can do some good work at 160 particularly abraham down the line would be a great fight.
