JMM and REALLY STUPID Beristain wanted ridiculous money that was beyond the budget for that fight. JMM's management started out with a figure that was laughable and made it hard for those negotiating to take them seriously with how ridiculous it was. They did not want even money, they wanted more money and ended up settling for WAAAAAY less. Still hard to understand. Nobody can be that stupid but I guess Beristain was.
I agree that Barrera needs to rebuild his confidence, but the amount of time it is taking is letting everybody know that his confidence was completely destroyed by pacquiao in their fight. If Barrera ever faces Pacquiao again, only time can tell.
or maybe thats just their way of showing lighter view of avoiding a rematch. concealing their FEAR of winning against a better fighter.
i just hope i can get to see the fight. it's almost a given that they will give all the close rounds to John, thus the lopsided scores.
i still want a JMM-Pac rematch. 'hope they still give JMM a chance, he must want the Pac rematch now.
he did gave him a chance and he already blew it. what's your impresion to a fighter whom you have given a chance but discarded your challenge, and then after seeing his career fall, he will come back to you and say, "ok i'll fight you now. coz i have no where else to go. you're my only way to get my career back on track. without you i will be lost in oblivion."
dont you think its kinda unfair for Pacman if he will give JMM a chance? Pac has rage war against tough challenges after JMM and was successful in most of it. JMM took on poor quality opponents and lost to CJ.
i think JMM needs to rebuild himself first to make himself worthy of fighting with the Pacman.
It was their choice, and yes it was dumb. But to call them jokes, is a reflection on your lack of boxing knowledge.
whoa! wait a minute. and you think you know better by saying that?
well then, if you realy know boxing as you claim to be and you criticize others as uneducated... what do you think is the reason why you agreed that what they did was dumb and yet its not a joke?
the way i understand it, it is kinda funny, hilarious a JOKE to realize that they refused to take $759k with Pac and take on $30k with CJ then lost. most normal people would think so.
why then wouldnt you MR. CLAIMING EDUCATED... :boxing:
it says on Btalk that he point deductions came after 4 warnings. I was thinking the same thing at first, but I don't know, 4 warnings? I will not give an opinion til I have seen the fight.
if you have seen Pac-JMM, how many times did you saw JMM hitting Pacman a low blow? but he was not given at least one deduction. i believe that it was very clear that JMM is not confident in his pure skill to win a fight agains a quality fighter. because he knows he's not capable.
JMM requires himself to fight dirty to win. if JMM is realy a good boxer, those low blows couldnt have been accidental. it was far too frequent and the swing of punches was comming from below way to low.
JMM never realy got my respect. ever.
Too many people are passing harsh judgement on this fight before they've seen it.
The two point deductions sound suspicious.
John very well may have won fair and square, but he may have also had some home cooking.
Calling JMM a fraud should really be reserved for those who've seen this fight.
you may be right dud. but considering the fact that the JMM camp knows that there is a huge possibility of losing by decision, i can be certain that they have planned to win by KO.
the big question there now is, why havent he did so? ...
my answer to this is, i dont think JMM is capable on doing it to CJ. and that is where the toppics of JMM being over rated and too over confident to think he can KO CJ. just as he was over confident in demanding for a purse not worthy for him.
that means their plan to KO CJ didnt work out. otherwise there's no point in seeing the fight ending by decision in a home advantage situation.
the bottom line here is, all these are just the fruit of his concieted head which is only deserving of him.
JMM's legacy has seemingly more of unproven testimonials and nothing more. since his draw against the Pacman he havnt even justified it by his performances against any other quality opponent(s).
That's why some people cant help but think that JMM's draw against Pacman was a fluke...that JMM was just lucky for a point caused by a f*ucked up scoring and administrative favor by not recieveing deductions of the same low blow dirty tactics he did with CJ.
JMM has shown consistency on this and he is in deed capable of doing it.
Piece of shit disgrace? Calm down and realize that he is a real fighter and your just some guy on an internet forum.
who's a real fighter? you call JMM a real fighter? i dont see anything in him that showed him a real fighter. a real fighter for me is one who will do everything in his capability to prove himself as a better warior specially from a controversial fight.
if you see jMM as a real fighter after running away from a good challenge with Pacman, then that reflects your image with the likes of JMM who considers being a CHICKEN GAY is a real fighter.
is this why you call yourself educated? where is the intellect in your posts?
sometimes some pretenders just claims too much of what they are than people who realy deserves the credit.
i respect Pacquaio's talent. but i do think Morales can put up a good chance of winning against him. i dont think so with MAB, JMM and Larios. i saw Pacquiao's punches and how MAB had bad time taking it. Pac havent showed it to JMM because of his left hand injury shown after the fight. Larios doesnt even come close to either of the two. but with Morales, nobody had shown convincing proof that they can beat him. not even MAB. so, i'd like to see how good Pac realy is when he fights Morales. i just hope Arum doesnt do anything foolish again.
good point... nicely said... promoters as well as fighers would not want to ruin the excitement for the fans... on the contrary, it sucks when all the excuses comes out right after the fight... not just for the MP-EM fight but i am talking in general... but excuses/ reasons behind losing are effective in drawing out rematches... that's what they are for... :D
exactly. thanks. :)
I think Manny Pacquiao is a nice guy and all,
but how can Roach call someone a jerk when he himself has no spine and says one thing then says another.
First he said Camp was going great and that all those fans watching pacquiao made Pacquiao train even harder because he felt the need to perform for them.
Then he said the Gloves were no issue and they dont make a fighter.
He also said they werent taking Morales lightly and that even though he looked slow in his fight with Barrera they were preparing for the best Morales.
Now that manny lost Roach went back on everything. All of a sudden all those fans at the gym were a distraction.
And that the gloves messed pacquiao up.
And that they took Morales lightly.
How do they expect Morales and his team not to respond to things like that.
on the other hand, giving the benefit of the doubt. in boxing there are a lot of mind wars. example. if the problem with their promoter was already been going, they wont say to the media that they were having a problem with their promoter. every words they make must be something that could steer up the fans so that there will be more sold tickets and that they didnt want EM to know MP's prevailing weakness. they may somehow tried to hide that. after the fight must have been the perfect moment for them to bring it all out. so that the fans wont think that MP was a 100% fighter that night. that is why their statement was also important for this rematch because people will still watch the match for the reason that there were a lot of controversies regarding EM's win over MP. to justify the truth whether its EM or MP, there's got to be a rematch. and should MP win this, who knows whether EM's camp wont come up with their own excuses. peace. :)
