It's not obvious Zab's a bum? All that talent and all that skill wasted.
how does that make him a bum? he was the undisputed at 147. he was a champion at 140. maybe he could have even accomplished more but does that make him a bum.
this bum word gets thrown around way too much
Nothing personal at one time he was one of my favorite fighters just disappointed me greatly swith the way he carries himself and his attitude overall...Lefty
that makes him a bum
sounds to me that you are saying because of lack of discipline and heart he underachieved.
i like your explanation though bro. thanks
peace and god bless
The only thing both Judah and Tyson have in common is they are both mental midgets. They frustrate easily and cannot adjust during fights. If you read the thread which I didn't expect most people too do so you would see where I make comments and clarify my thoughts on calling Judah a bum. No fighter in boxing is a coward because it takes heart and guts to step in the ring whether or not you have got the skills to win is something different. Judah was once the udisputed WW Champ and so was Mike Tyson neither of them are or were bums in teh sense that you are taking the comment. This thread was made a very long time ago when Judah in my mind had quit against Clottey. When ever I am going to talk of Judah I bring this thread back...Sorry if I offended you or you thought differently of me but next time you should read the enitre post or read through the most recent few page of a thread before abashing another poster the way you just bashed me. Oh and by the way I had 13 fights I was 9-4. They were all three rounders and in White Collar competiton....Lefty
what is white collar comp?
Clottey was after Cotto and the fight after Clottey he sort of redeemed himself by getting cut over both eyes and fighting through it. But this is how I felt after the Clottey fight Shawn I guess I need to be taken out back and shot for expressing my feeling about a sport I am damn passionate about....Lefty
man there aint no need for the victim sarcasm stuff. we are just rapping here. i just have a problem with the word bum when referring to a boxer who has accomplished what zab has. and if it was just a reaction after the clottey fight why keep bringing it back. that was over a year ago
I'm sorry i still don't see where he is a bum. there is a big difference between under achiever and bum. it just seems since you keep this going for as long as you have that it is something personal to you
showtime
Mayweather proved not to be a bum when he overcame Judah ODLH Hatton and Marquez. he may be a cherry picking champ but he has beaten TOP level competition and never lost a fight due to his inability to motivate himself. he never went to the corner and said he couldn't see and even after Judah hit him with those low blows and mass confusion broke out he gathered himself and went back to business. mayweather may be alot fo things but he is no mental midgett. Judah is a mental midgette who greatly disappointed me many times just like one of my fas Tyson. Greatly disappointed me although I defended him over and over again by mentally breaking down. To me Judah copping out of the CLottey fight a fightin which I think he could have easily won had he stuck in there pissed me off....Lefty
i agree it should have pissed you off but it doesnt make him a bum. thats all im saying. it hink it is a poor choice of words. was he a bum against cotto?
man i dont mean no offense but i read as much of this thing as i could stand and it sounds like you have a personal beef with zab. it sounds like in your mind he wronged you at some point in life. like he punked you or messed with your girl or punked a family member. i dont know man it just sounds personal
That is whats up bro... Are you still considering going down to 147?
yeah, we are going to get into the fitness center with my strength and conditioning coach and do it the right way and see if my body responds. if so i will get down to 147. i have to be careful though because my body was really tuned most of my teen years at 175 for my football days. i fough amateur mostly at 165 so i got to find my lowest weight without hurting my strength and stamina.
Exactly... Make sure you on point with the weight. You have a big future... Are you looking to sign to any big promoter? You probably answered the question already... If so my bad.
i am already signed to a promoter, prize fight, and they have been doing it right so far. i have a great team in place for 2010
Shawn. What do you think of a fight with Martinez @154?
i would love it but it doesn't fit boxings business model of building the record first. he would be tough for sure though. he has all the mix going for him and he is a soutpaw too.
Ok I didn't know that... I heard that you was fighting again like around March or something like that in your first 10 round fight is that true?
man you know somebody in the business? lol
Right not now they are not known. One is named Cody Richards he is a Lightweight and his record is 3-0-1(2ko's) he is based out of Orange, Texas. And, the other is Justin Williams he is based out Beumont, Texas. He is making his pro debut in 3 weeks. His will be fighting at 154. But, I am trying to get there name here in TX. Try to build them a fanbase. And, try to take them to the top.
And, I love how they keeping you active. I hope the fight goes through. I think activity is so important for a young fighter. That is what I am trying to do with my fighters.
man if they can really bang you might want to give prize fight a call. they have kept me crazy busy and built the careers of fernando guerrero and the peterson bros too. i fought a lot in tunica and memphis coming up because they have shows there all the time
lol really I am trying to get into the business. I actually manage 2 guys right now. So I know a couple inside people... So it is true?
we have something in the works yeah
who do you manage?
Shawn! You got a whole family of new fans after Fridays victory.
Great great Knockout win!
thanks man
Yeah man, you looked awesome in there. I like the movement and the ability to fight on the inside and outside. You looked like a beast, great speed too.
glad you noticed the in and out man. i think i really showcased more about me in that fight than i have before
Congrats on the victory... You doing great.
man i am doing great. it was like a perfect ending to a busy busy year for me. looking forward to about a week off until i get back to the gym
im still pretty young. my role model was and is my father. why should kids emulate any of these guys. if they have to the dad needs to be a bigger part of these kids lives.
one guy got knocked down dipshit that immediately makes the round 10-9 FOR Williams but since martinez actually won the whole round it should be 9-9
