He has no class..I used to train at Gleasons Gym in NYC and he was a bum then.....He has tremendous skills but his attitude sucks badily. he doesn't get along with his dad in the corner and seems to not listen to instruction at all. the great fighters make adjustments during fights or excute the game plan they practice in camo he does niether. Inhis last fight against Clottey Max pointed out in big fashion how Zab was actually fighting like he wanted to win the fight. He stated two or three times that Judah stuck to his game plan a plan he and his corner thought could win him the fight. DUHHH this is what you are supposed to do ab make a game plan and stick to it. At 130 - 140 you could get away with going with the flow but now you are pushing 31 and you are fighting bigger heavier handed guys you can't run straight back and bob you have to block punches with your hands.
Here is the real reason why he is a bum adn much to my dislike I say this he is like tyson in the way that he quits when he has a hard task in front of him. everything came so easily to him with his natural god given talent and now that he finds himself in a battle instead of a easy match he looks for a way out with out getting hurt. When he fought Clottey he thought he was ahead on the cards and continued to tell the fight doctor he couldnt see even after the doctor said he was good to go. Byrd brought him to the corner for a routine look at the cut and to say"HEAD BUTT"...Zab saw a way out and after his pop told him he had the first two rounds in the bank when he leaned over and whispered it in his ear after Zab thought he was ahead and figured he would win on points....YOU ARE A BUM ZAB RETIRE I AM SICK OF WATCHING YOU THROW YOU CAREER AWAY!!!!
Man why do you keep this going. It is getting compulsive bro.
Let me agree and disagree though.
You are correct we do shine the light on them. But, without us they are still tremendously talented athletes. I wouldn't say they are shit without the fans.
If no one was watching them do what they do than most of them like Judah who are only here for a pay check would find some other sport to go at.....Lefty

I have none but how many world titles have you won? How many post have you made? What is the difference the sports writers have not won world titles nor have they ever swong a baseball bat but they still get to vote on who goes to the hall of fame my man. We as fans get to talk walk and live the sport that is why they have the spot light because we shine it on them. With out us doing what we do here and ordering PPV's buying tickets to the fights reading magazines and purchasing sports memorabilia they aint ish...Lefty

sounds to me that you are saying because of lack of discipline and heart he underachieved.
i like your explanation though bro. thanks
peace and god bless
No doubt Shawn I hear what you said and posted and undestand where you are coming from with the word "BUM" we are good I got no quarrels with you sir...God bless you and yours as well....Lefty

man there aint no need for the victim sarcasm stuff. we are just rapping here. i just have a problem with the word bum when referring to a boxer who has accomplished what zab has. and if it was just a reaction after the clottey fight why keep bringing it back. that was over a year ago
When ever someone talks about Zab I bring back this thread because some of the same points that were made in this thread still stand about Zab. he too me has not fought a near B Class fighter since he lost to Clottey back than. He fought a few nobodies. Until he gets back in there with someone B Level or above and goes through a fight or wins in dominate fashion to me he is still in the same state of the sport he was in afte the loss to Clottey....Lefty
Lefty, I guess we are arguing semantics here. I do agree that Judah didn't live up to his full potential, but where I deviate from your view is that making him a bum. A bum is someone that signs up at a boxing gym and leaves after the first day of hard training. A bum.. is someone that gets discouraged and quits boxing after their first loss, or.. even their first hard sparring session. Judah, was at the top of his part of the game at the highest level for a short while, so even if he disappointed your expectations, (not being a HOF'er..ect.) That hardly makes him a bum, in the way I define the word.
But, from my post earlier.. It seems you have changed a bit as a poster over the years. That Tyson bit is was got my hackles up (calling an ATG a bum), but you seem to have moderated yourself a bit since then.
The day I posted this thread I was pretty upset about the way the fight turned out. I had high hopes for Judah to get the W there and possibly catapult himself back into the running along with Cotto Margarito and Mayweather. He did not fight with Mosley which was a fight I wanted to see very much. Even though Judah had been bested by Cotto and beaten by Mayweather I didn't see much same in those performances (barring the low blows) he didn't quit. When he took the easy route out in the Clottey fight or what appeared to be the easy route out to me I broke. here is a guy I saw firsthand live in the GYM (Gleasons) hit guys on the chin with bolo uppercuts and put their lights out permanently a kid with hands faster than anyone I had ever seen in person strength movement and style taking the easy way out. It seemed to me that fighting was not in his heart anymore. When fighting is not in your heart and you are there strictly for a pay check pride is no longer involved you are a beaten fighter. Just ask Tyson he was a beaten fighter before he stepped in the ring with Williams or McBride. If you saw his documentary than you know what I am talking about.
Tyson to me was my all time favorite and it pains me to have people question his heart because at the ripe old age of 21 he accomplished more than most people do in three life times. The only problem with Mie is Mike. i feel that same way about Zab he too accomplished alot by a very young age and was on top of his game but in the face of adversity he crumbled whether it is due to his lack of adjustments during fights his trainer or just his mind state in gerneral he breaks down. He lets his frustrations get the best of him and looks for a way out of a big fight. Example the low blows with FMJ, the Cut with Clottey. I don't know whether he didn't take Baldomir seriously or what maybe he didn’t train hard for the fight and was trying to get in Carlos' head by tapping his leg rather than his hands pre fight but it was poor taste and no class. No class to me is a bummy act....Maybe the way you thought of the word bum and the way I think of it is different but to me you described a coward not a bum....Zab is not a coward but mentally he breaks down in the face of adversity or has in the past....I explained myself enough I think you can understand where I was and am coming from now....Lefty
Clottey was after Cotto and the fight after Clottey he sort of redeemed himself by getting cut over both eyes and fighting through it. But this is how I felt after the Clottey fight Shawn I guess I need to be taken out back and shot for expressing my feeling about a sport I am damn passionate about....Lefty

Mayweather proved not to be a bum when he overcame Judah ODLH Hatton and Marquez. he may be a cherry picking champ but he has beaten TOP level competition and never lost a fight due to his inability to motivate himself. he never went to the corner and said he couldn't see and even after Judah hit him with those low blows and mass confusion broke out he gathered himself and went back to business. mayweather may be alot fo things but he is no mental midgett. Judah is a mental midgette who greatly disappointed me many times just like one of my fas Tyson. Greatly disappointed me although I defended him over and over again by mentally breaking down. To me Judah copping out of the CLottey fight a fightin which I think he could have easily won had he stuck in there pissed me off....Lefty

How does having a sh** attitude make him a bum? By your logic Mayweather is a bum
I'm sorry i still don't see where he is a bum. there is a big difference between under achiever and bum. it just seems since you keep this going for as long as you have that it is something personal to you

I love your sig, but come on bro i'm trying to train for a fight; I don't need to be distracted by that lol.
I will agree with ABS my spelling is horrid mainly because my fingers move too fast for my mind most of the time. I still stick by my posts and I get respect from most my friend....Lefty
when i think back at Zab's career, i also see the wasted opportunities
there are so many great fighters that never had a chance to validate their legacies because they were peerless
if you look at the zab 'era', there were sooOOOooOOoo many fighters that could have given zab an ATG resume
kostya
hatton
mayweather
cotto
margarito
pacquiao
mosely
de la hoya
trinidad
it goes on and on
he was at the right place at the right time...with the right skills
unfortunately, heart, desire, mental toughness eluded him
Co Sign Mak good post my man....Lefty
My man i wrote this thread the days after Judah copped out of the Clottey fight. I thought he could have continued but he was under the impression he would get a decision n the cards. If you watched that fight his dad was telling him after the first few rounds "theres one in the bank" blah blah blah....Judah took the easy way out and tried to go off the reff's call of a head butt and thought he was going to get the W on the cards. Then after the fight in his usual fashion he acted like a real cry baby when things didn't go his way. He proclaimed he did not want to quit and that he could have gone on but in the replays you could clearly see he was not fighting too hard to stay in there with the reff or the doctor. To me he was a "SELF MADE BUM" a bum pretentiously by his own actions in his previous fights. The throwing of the stool with Jay Nady, The FMJ tussle low blow incident, The hitting of BALDOMIRS LEG RATHER THAN SHAKING THE MANS HAND and overall my heart felt disappointment for another talented kid from Brooklyn NY. I had high hopes for him and thought he would really go down as one of the ATG's but he was UNDISPUTED WW CHAMPION and no one can ever take that away from him. Like I said iwas highly aggrivated when I wrote this thread but BUM may be a bit harsh in the terms you are thinking. I would defintely say he is an underachiever....Lefty
bump the thread no one ever answered me after my last post....Lefty
