Who wins?
Joshua is 6'6", 234 lbs, 82 inch reach
Vitali is 6'7", 247 lbs, 80 inch reach.
Joshua isn't "Joshua" yet! When he starts to scrape away the rough edges, when he is tested, when we see how he takes a good shot and when we give him some seasoning THEN one can ask how he would fare in the ring with Vitali.
Red Fox gave a credible response regarding Vitali. I think he is better than his brother, he has excellent power and a good to excellent chin. His stamina, drive and footwork is average at best but when considering his strong points he was a very good fighter. Vitali set up punches well and was consistant.
investors, not haymon himself.
haymon is a manager / advisor to these fighters, and makes a percent. he's techincally not a promotor. he's basically a broker. i have plenty of reason to think that he can profit while his investors take an L.
he's boxing's most powerful man, and if the sport is going downhill you need to consider his influence.
Its a credability thing. A Broker needs credability to "broke" lol. Seriously I doubt haymon is allowed to be a silent investor with that much cash on the table. He may not be taking the shave the investors are, but he has some skin in the game and his so called brilliance will be questioned the next investment.
al haymon is a real dumbo. peopel think he is this mad genius because he is all mysterious and never shows his face. in actuality he is a real dumbo who only knows how to spend other people's money. this is big reason why successful billionaire rapper jay-z and his equally successful and beautiful wife beyonce kicked this dumbo to the curve. al haymon is cancerous. he is all hype.
i said it from the beginning that PBC is a fail but i was called a psycho, racist, sexist pig. just for speaking the truth!!! hahahahahahahahahahahaha. well looks like i'm right!
Wow your a real genius...you and you alone knew network tv as a monopoly would not sustain the likes of a Boule cracking the fight game. You alone could see how few individuals entered the fight game and how few of even those were succesful...You should be an analyst dude.... For titlewinks contests that is. :lame:
Alleged investments into PBC’s Al Haymon plummet $434 million in one year (@MMAanalytics) https://t.co/TIM6OVF8ZJ— Bloody Elbow (@BloodyElbow) 20 de septiembre de 2016

is a long ass article, give it a look
A lot to consider here.
It is a normative process for a very large restaurant, with a name brand chef, to lose money the first years. Usually the restaurant can be expected to break even after about 5 years...I know this from experience. Then you have leases which go up, and it makes one wonder why anyone would invest in a restaurant like this. But the flip side is usually in the franchising, the possibility of buying your lease as a valuable subleaser (if the restaurant fails), or even buying the property and leasing it out. This is why when a mall store goes under, often the leases owned are the most valuable commodity being sold.
I bring this up because the fight game is notorious for trapping all kinds who seem to think they can make it work. Haymon's idea was to create an audience, but he had to work with the networks...If one looks at Don King in his Heyday, or Arum, these guys didn't have to rely on the networks so much. Anybody remember what happened to lovable Pudding pusher Bill Cosby when he made it known he wanted to buy NBC? Duddenly lovable Bill became that N8gger who didn't know his place...his son was murdered and we see how things are now for Bill...
I don't know what Haymon thought but you can't burn through that kind of cash that fast and make it work. Again, there is a reason why only the top eaters on the food chain enter the business side of the square circle. As much as I despise King I have to give him credit, he knew what he was up against...when he was in Cleveland running numbers and when he was promoting fights. Haymon may have been caught "lacking" as they say in Chicago. Hes a smart guy and I wouldn't want to second guess him.
Investments are losing huge. As long as I still get to watch fights I am happy. When they are off the air I will be disappointed.
Hi Dunn this is Billeau2, hope all is well. The Haymon situation is complicated. network television is controlled by special interests, and live entertainment with a bit of advertising is not one of those interests. if you really want to understand the Haymon situation, and where it could go, look at the Cosby situation. Not talking about his rape charges, but talking about what started to happen to him when he wanted to be taken seriously.
The White establishment loved Cosby. They even let him title as America's family, threw money at him... etc. Then Cosby wanted to buy NBC...lets just say the room got realllllllly quiet, perhaps someone said "Hey Bill what flavor Jello was that last kind? well Cosby didn't take the hint did he?
His son gets murdered (changing a flat on a car that automatically changes a flat) and the rest is history. Haymon, probably knew he could only take shizzle so far, lol, but I doubt the power structure of this country will allow anything more than BET... the networks dealt with King and Arum as private entities that would accomodate each other, that is different.
If you look at my other post I can bare witness to the fact that some businesses burn through cash when starting, The lease for the restaurant we opened in North Beach (San Francisco) was 30k a month! but I think in this case its not par for the course...I wouldn't want to be one of those investors. Haymon's misstep was the networks as I see it.
Damn that's unfortunate, wonder whats up with him.
His wife had a miscarriage last year right?
Has nothing to do with that Beercules. He has a mental illness. He is manic Depressive I believe. Hes not a bad guy, a lazy guy, a doper, a substance abuser...he has a disease that debilitates. He is probably very depressed and he needs help right now. Its very sad really.
I keep hearing people praise Ward's inside game but the way i see it, he resorts to clinching due to his lack of infighting ability.
Ya wanna see a real inside- fighter. Look no further than James Toney.
Andre ward is fkin boring
Come on man! Two great fighters. Both guys can bang on the inside, albeit different. Toney is a puncher through and through, he punched you from any distance, and he controlled the distance. Ward is extremely accurate, he fights from the inside and when you drop your hands he catches you going back.
Toney was a phenominal counter puncher (I know he is still fighting but I refer to him in the past tense cause he shouldn't be). Two great fighters.
It may not help the way people are brain washed and treat Fury...Liston went through similar shenanigans when he won the title and expected the fans to treat him like a champion. Fury is obviously mentally ill. Anyone who knows what to look for could see it in the presser with Vlad where he "was joking" about not caring...He wasn't joking folks, I was cringing just imagining what he might say next.
Fury needs to get well and on a routine where he can treat his illness. Given his situation he may not be able to fight professionally at the top level. I wish him well and people should have some compassion... I suspect those of us who work with the population and those of us who take care of a person with this illness, are sympathetic to Fury.
the long lay off, the subpar opposition, the move up to 75
this is a nightmare waiting to happen for Ward
and if that physical strength that you're banking on doesnt show up against Kovalev?
what you'll have is a rusty, limited power, natural SMW eating power shots and clinching for dear life
since you LOVE bringing up the last fights, do you REALLY think that punch output by Ward is enough to win? too economical
this wont be an easy fight either way and i scoff and these clowns who think they know the sport that think so
what happens if that chin gets checked early and it doesn't hold up?
i will bump this thread-jinx after the fight
Ward always punches inside, he is the best inside fighter in the game. Ok so lets say Kove is too strong for him (I doubt it) He may abandon that range, but I doubt he will try to clinch in tight, it would be a first.
Ward gets hit more at the heavier weight imo, but I believe he did this to open up and test his chin... There is always the possability for a big punch, thats why this fight is exciting.
No I didnt? dude you are an annoying Pac-turd, im about to block you, saying no you didnt lying sack, I have never went against Ward or Floyd ever dude. EVER because they are hard to be and it would take a fluke KO to beat them they are too defensive and careful.
I said its possible that Rios can KO Pac with a jab and posted the video of Pac being let cross eyed with a baby jab by nedal hussien, Pac was given a long count dude he was knoicked out.
You are stupid, how the hell is Ward getting to get hattond by Kovalev, make some sense dude, Ward is not a face first brawler.
Hectari I think your right but I will say this. It seems to me that Ward has started to open up more in the higher weight class. I don't think he fights as safety conscious actually. This does not scare me because he knew whom he was fighting his last two outings. Ward is my favorite right now but I won't lie, I will be tight knuckled when he fights the strong Russian!
Ward?
dont quote me anymore
Yes WARD ya know why?
Because Ward FIGHTS on the INSIDE and therefore does not generally initialize a CLINCH. You might have known that if you read the first part of the post.
Tyson Fury has mental health issues. He has depression. Having watched him now for some time IMO he has been trying to deal with his illness and is unable. His behavior has shown that he is out of control. The first time I noticed it was when he had that press conference for the second fight and started saying so what if he lost, that nothing mattered anyway. I used to work with this population and he looked very depressed.
I feel very sad for him. I don't blame him. The pressure and routine of being top dog is tough for anyone, it is especially so for someone with depression. I wish him the best but really have to question whether he can fight at the level he needs to with his illness.
I fear for him frankly and hope we do not hear about a suicide attempt.
Some boxing fans are already grinding on Fury, so no surprise it's open season now. Obviously the guy suffers from clinical depression... not a fun thing to deal with if you do some research. I wish him well and hope he can see some daylight soon. Counseling and the right meds, and he should be able to live his years out fairly well. Doubtful it would be advisable to get back onto the big stage again though.
One unfortunate thing... I learned from some of my guys who were athletes and martial artists, is that the meds really take it out of you. Very hard to train when antipsychotics come into the picture.
There we go :boxing:
Hey B this is Billeaudea3387...
Ill tell ya what! I thought this was a gimme for Ward then when Kovalev said he would fvk him up! well now I just don't know!!:boxing:
Look at precedent and there is no need to guess why Tyson did not want the fight.
First off Bone Crusher Smith, Razor Rudock... two big strong guys who gave Tyson fits. Lets talk late Foreman here for the sake of argument. Late Foreman has a body that absorbs anything, is one of those big strong guys, his head is way back in his back shoulder, and one must first make it past his hands, to hit him.
So here is Tyson, with short arms, unable to really hurt George to the body, having to be oh so careful not to get caught like Moorer did. Tyson also slows way down as the fight progresses so George will get opportunities, both men know this. Stylistically its a terrible match up for Iron Mike. He needs to be able to either get to his man early, or break his man down with punches, neither of which will be easy for him to do against Foreman. All Foreman has to do is lean back and keep his arms in front of him and Tyson has to take the prospect avenue expressway to find George's bean!
bad match up all the way round for Mike.
Fits? Smith grappled at Tyson for 12 rounds except one punch at the last second. Scorecards were 120-106, 119-107 and 119-107 for Tyson.
Ruddock was considered a beast in 1991, but even a diminished version of Tyson beat him rather comfortably, knocking him down a total of four times if I remember correctly, and in spite of a couple of seriously hard punches taken by Iron Mike in the first fight.
The point is: Tyson could not get rid of Smith and it was frustrating to him, the fight was not close but it was obvious Smith presented a problem because of his size and strength. You need to watch the Razor fights again, he knocked him down but in both fights Ruddock came on in the end and had Tyson in a couple of bad situations...Tyson was getting tired and and Ruddock coming on.
Scorecards often don't tell everything about a fight, neither do punch stat numbers. The point is that in both cases Tyson was uncomfortable due to the size difference and one can ascertain that Foreman's size, both versions, would be a factor in the fight.
fury is going to have his boxing license stripped on the 4th of november.
i don't think he's ever going to fight again.
I agree. The real problem for them is the spectator aspect of the sport. Fury has been getting very inappropriate and it is his illness, i.e. he cannot necessarily control himself. he would look even worse doped up at a presser if these drugs were even allowed.
I don't like to be an apologist for anyone. I do feel compelled as someone who has worked with the mentally ill to speak up for Fury here. When somoene like Fury gets manicky they will do almost anything.
True story: we had an asian women, gorgeous! and she had just gotten married to a wonderful guy. She had an episode and wound up sleeping with another, so she became suicidal...She couldn't tell this guy because he wouldn't understand, she was an ethical person, so she was beside herself. A doc who was her appointed physician did something that made me very proud to work in his team (I was a councellor). He told her that under the conditions she should not tell her husband. He reasoned that if he would not understand, she would learn to control the illness, but that she had a legitimate reason under the circumstances not to speak of what happened.
I could see Fury was manicky when he had that first presser for the second fight and where he was speaking of not being interested, etc. It was sad and probably like a lot of his fans I wanted to think it was just him in a bad mood. I knew better and so should anyone who speaks of Tyson.
It is sad. Tyson has a long road to hoe and I doubt boxing will be a part of it for now. he has to get his illness under control. It is imperative and the first thing he needs to do because his marriage will be next.
The way some of you speak about Tyson is ignorant beyond belief. I hope none of you ever have to look in the eyes of a person, already suicidal, who just found out his wife and kids are leaving. As a councellor we had this happen a lot. The person becomes too much, Tyson is heading that way folks. Have some respect for f...s sake.
