I never said he would stop him, but I said he was doing great until the injury, and I've watched almost all of vitali's fights he never ever looked great, his brother was a much better fighter
I won't refute it because it's your opinion.. We both can agree to disagree after all.. :)

Vitali may had an awkward technique, but he had an iron chin and the feeling of street fight inside him. Vitali could fight, Wladimir can only box.
No offense but you haven't seen Vitali fight much.. If you had, you wouldn't have made a thread saying Odlanier Solis was on his way to stop Vitali..

Who wins?
Joshua is 6'6", 234 lbs, 82 inch reach
Vitali is 6'7", 247 lbs, 80 inch reach.
Joshua isn't "Joshua" yet! When he starts to scrape away the rough edges, when he is tested, when we see how he takes a good shot and when we give him some seasoning THEN one can ask how he would fare in the ring with Vitali.
Red Fox gave a credible response regarding Vitali. I think he is better than his brother, he has excellent power and a good to excellent chin. His stamina, drive and footwork is average at best but when considering his strong points he was a very good fighter. Vitali set up punches well and was consistant.
Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder, and his brother

He fought nothing like his brother. He was brawler with tons of upper body movement. Wlad is pure outside fighter.
Fury and Wilder are clumsy oafs. Neither of them would do **** to a prime Vitali.
I really believe there are few HWs ever born who would beat Vitali and Lennnox other than each other.
Yea, it's such "poor form", the kind of thing you would bash a lesser fighter for doing, but the fact that it works for him is part of his brilliance. That's another example of something I learned about boxing; just because a world class fighter gets away with it doesn't mean you can too.
Waiting for Weltschmerz to comment in this thread. I'm sure he has an opinion on the subject. :D
:lol1:
I try to refrain from commenting much on fantasy fights these days (I believe we have a separate section for this?). H2H, Vitali is one of the greatest HW's in history and he would pick Joshua apart. As you also pointed out, he is not the same as Vladimir, in fact they are quite different as fighters. Vitali is one of my all time favorites and I always rated him higher than Vlad. He should have been the one of the two ruling the division in my opinion but Vitali was always a case of shoulda/woulda/coulda as we know. We never witnessed his full potential as a champion because of his injuries and in my opinion also because he (actually) personally let Vlad be the no. 1. And he wouldn't fight him.
Joshua is still green, we haven't seen the best of him yet. He has very much been on a learning curve and it's evident from fight to fight even though he stops opponents fast. We still need to see him in a tough battle where his chin and durability really get tested. Whyte and Breazeale hardly gave him this. At 26 yrs we haven't seen his full potential. He will rule the division in a few years.
I like Joshua and I think he has potential but Vitali was the best Klitcho. If Joshua has a chin he gets beat to death over 12 rounds if he dont he gets taken out by the 3rd round. Vitali was the best heavyweight of the 2000s, his brother just cared more about it. There is a short list in all of history that could beat Vitali, Joshua isnt one of them.
prime vitali crushes the current joshua......
the problem is i haven't seen nearly enough of joshua. if joshua can be fighters like ortiz & fury my opinion changes. if he has a long title run while having these guys on his resume my opinion changes.
not enough is known about joshua to say...........
Good observation! I used to call it a hook-jab.. I remember reading an interview with Steward where he was talking about Lewis-Vitali fight and he said Lennox came to the corner after he won and he said "you know Manny he is not easy to fight".. Manny used to say that Vitali had like a sixth sense kinds and he would know exactly when the next punch would come from and he used to sway away.. Have you seen his dodgy defense.. Boy it's mighty impressive, he dodges a punch by just moving his upper body, Wlad blocks it with his hands but Vitali just leans back whilst the punch is coming and pretty quick..

Indeed. The thing I remember most is that angled jab that came in like an hooking uppercut. It would just repeatedly stifle guys as soon as they got in range or made any attempt to attack. I asked a couple of boxing coaches how he does that with such power and without straining his shoulder (because it's all shoulder) and their replies were essentially, "Because he's Vitali Klitschko".
