The whole GGG/GBP/DAZN/CANELO/DEREVYANCHENKO situation more about ego’s than boxing. Everyone (except Chenko) is on the ‘same side of the street’ yet there is still bullshh#t politics going on. GGG wants Canela fight. GBP/Canela don’t want to entertain that fight for whatever reason? GBP/Canela decide he won’t be fighting on Sept date with dubious reasoning behind it...could have something to do with flexing power at DAZN GGG thinks he’ll fight Munguia on Canela’s Sept date. No - Munguai is signed with GBP, so they ain’t sacrificing their prospect - err i mean champion to GGG. GGG thinks ok, i’ll fight Derevyanchenko for the abc title. No again, now Canela has decided he will fight Deverychenko for abc title, shutting Golovkin out. Neither GGG or Canela want to fight Andrade, but this is unfortunately standard hi risk/low reward we are all familiar with. Andrade seems to go quiet when GG and Canelo don’t have a fight scheduled - like now. GBP announce that Munguia might fight Vargas on Sept date, shutting GGG out from taking that weekend. DAZN know GBP definitely ain’t going to PBC and unlikely they go to ESPN and work with Bob, so they are trying to flex their muscle but getting met with resistance. I know Canela is the biggest draw at moment but like Bob Dylan said ’you gotta serve somebody’ Thoughts?

Ok this is a FYI thread and the answers to your smiling questions. I see people asking: How did we start smiling? Who was the first to smile? Does everyone have to smile? Smiling started back when boxing turned corrupt, we always knew we could do it, but until now we haven't bothered. What triggered the recent wave of smiling is Miguel Rivera's articles with the 'smiling' headlines. It's uncertain who's side the smile Miguel is on, but the NSB smiling pioneers started because of two smiling articles in close proximity. First article was: ABC prez smiles: Spence-Garcia will have diamond belt at stake (Mon Feb 25) https://www.boxingscene.com/wbc-prez-smiles-spence-garcia-diamond-belt-stake--136573 Second article was: ABC prez smiles: Canelo will be our franchise champion (Sun Mar 3) https://www.boxingscene.com/wbc-prez-smiles-canelo-our-franchise-champion--136740 In the second article there was a sentence: "Although no details of the appointment were given, the sanctioning body leader pointed out that in the near future the exact information will disclosed when the implications of this title is explained" This led many boxing fans to believe they were getting trolled, or boxingscene had tounge in cheek when publishing these articles. It is a sentence that has long words but goes in circles and means nothing (kind of like abc titles mean nothing). Since then the last of the smiling articles was published Arum smiles: Khan will come to fight like a man, Garcia came to survive (Fri Mar 22) https://www.boxingscene.com/arum-smiles-khan-fight-like-man-garcia-came-survive--137300 It is because of these headlines people came out from the smiling shadows. So please don't hate on smiling... It is what brings us together as boxing fans! If boxing fans didn't smile after these types of articles, they would be sad.

Off the top of the head.... -Both underated in skill department -Both have solid power -Both stalk opponents -Both have been avoided -Both are humble, quiet spoken -Both have solid jab -Both are solid A fighters, who KO B level fightes. -Both have great balance -Both can throw crushing body shots -Both top 10 p4p -Both exciting to watch -Any more? I guess it's safe to say if you are a fan of one, you are a fan of the other. Juding a fighter in ring of course, not boxing politics.

GREAT NEWS... boxing scene website is recognising the IBO on their ‘champions’ page. This will be become clearer for the fans and better for boxing as more people can become champions, kind of like sharing. 17 weight classes X 4 belts = 68 normal champs excluding the gold, silver, international, regional, diamond, emeterius, regular, super, interim etc Now it is even better... 17 x 5 belts = 85 champions!!! 5 is basically done, lock it in!! I think we should aim for 3 figures. We need potentially 100 different people calling themselves champions of the world (excluding the silver, regular etc) 17 x 6 = 102 I think we should join together for greed and profit...sorry, i mean the good of boxing and welcome with open arms number 6 sanctioning body.
