yeah, because it takes a big puncher to hurt khan right? Dude was getting rattled by the power of Chris algieri.
I think Khan's defence is more of a problem than his punch resistance. He wasn't troubled by anything Canelo threw before the big KO punch. Let's face it - that punch would have knocked *Anyone* out. The problem was that he let himself get hit by that punch.
Also Khan put Maidana down and Maidana couldn't put him down.
Khan's main problem is lack of decent opposition recently. He is no way ready for Crawford. This is why Crawford chose him. Big name, easy fight. Same reason Wilder chose Tyson Fury...
I do agree with much of what you said but I do think khan has poor resistance. I also don't think that punch would've ko'd anyone. He landed that same type of punch on Cotto (feint with a low jab and over hand right) and Cotto took it. Ggg took several clean shots too.
I'm not saying Khan has a great chin here but he went up 2 weight divisions for the Canelo fight and Canelo refused the weight-gain clause (or whatever it's called) so he was huge in the ring compared to Khan. I think pretty much any fighter in the same situation would have been Ko'd by that punch.
Americans ain't paying for this shyt! I hope 15,000 brits are flying over here to support this fool.. If the fight was in Florida a hour from my house an I had free tickets.. I still wouldn't go.. maybe if someone gave me front row tickets.. then I might go.. but then again.. maybe not. Lol.
I would like to say we aren't that stupid - but yeah there will probably be a load of idiots flying over there to watch Tyson.
I don't think Khan quit. He was still in there before the punch. It wasn't like he was on his last legs. He's been in worse condition against Maidana. People criticise but no one knows what he felt or what damage that punch did. He also came out for the press conference after the fight which most fighters duck.
The truth is Crawford took an easy fight against a big name (who had been retired for 2 years and hadn't beaten a top-level fighter for years). It backfired on him. He should be fighting at a higher level than that.
Tell me what formula did you use to figure out the ten percent metric? Lol..History states that the boxer more than likely wins the rematch in essier fashion.
I don't have one. But Wilder's a smart enough fighter. He was reading Fury at times in the first fight. People say how great a boxer Fury is... Wilder landed 13 less shots than Fury the whole fight and you can bet Wilder's were 40% harder. No wonder Fury is earning some money first before he bows out with the rematch.
According to CompuBox punch statistics, Wilder landed 71 of 430 shots (17 percent), and Fury landed 84 of 327 (26 percent)
Wilder will win. He had 12 rounds to figure out Tyson Fury and the next fight Wilder will be 10% better because of it. That's all he needs to land a few more right hands. All Fury can do is the same thing he did last time.
There's a reason Fury ran from the rematch and there's a reason Wilder wants it so much.
Wilder should fight AJ next. All these fighters Wilder has lined up - have no belts. The Aj fight earns him the most money and if he wins - he will triple his value and unify the heavyweight championship. It's a no brainer. Wilder says AJ is an easy fight - take it now then.
I've been saying Wilder is underrated for a while. He has huge power but also huge speed. Which is deadly.
The problem is when you look at his record. It's not that great. He seems to take a lot of easy fights. Breazeale gets hit loads. That fight was always going to end with a KO. Even Fury was an easy fight, given he had been in retirement for 2 years and had ballooned up. Also why did Wilder never take on Wlad all those years??
I'm really hoping the fact that Wilder KO'd Breazeale in 1rd will give him the confidence to take on better opponents. I put him as top 3 at the moment but on the day he can beat anyone.
All what years? Wlad never gave voluntaries. If you wanted to fight Wlad, you had to become his mandatory. Fury had to become WBA and WBO mandatory before Wlad would get into the ring with him.
Wilder got the green belt, which Wlad never had any interest in having either. Wlad/Joshua would have never happened had Fury not beaten Klit. Wlad had his next opponent lined up after Fury (IBF mandatory Vyacheslav Glazkov)
Are you serious? Wilder never even asked for the fight. He wouldn't even fight Fury back in those days, despite Fury chasing him He's not even chasing the Joshua fight now. Saying it might happen in 2020 or something.
Real fans want to see that fight. Wilder has a great chance against AJ. He should take it now. Neither Wilder or AJ is superhuman. One of them will lose at some point (unless they keep fighting bums). Make the fight now.
He wouldn't fight Fury back in what days? What the hell are you even talking about?
It means "back at that time."
Seriously what opponent in Wilder's boxing record makes you think he would have taken Klitschko or the Fury fight back then? Because I don't see anyone remotely near that level.
Your problem is you are a "Wilder fan". Good for you. But boxing fans want to see the big fights happen, and you can tell all from a fighter's record. Its the only thing that doesn't lie.
It's people like you who constantly defend their favourite fighter who take the pressure off these fights happening.
Joshua needs to start being himself and stop trying to trash talk. I like who he is normally. Be yourself
As for this fight. All the buildup is just pointless. Just show us the fight.
Does Mayweather not get any play? Does he have to pay women? Notice how there's a room full of scantily clad girls in this video and none of them are touching Money Mayweather the way they were touching rappers 50 Cent and Lloyd Banks.
Mayweather is a great boxer, but the hoes ain't feelin' him!!!
Floyd is tiny - Why hang with a tiny rich guy when you can hang with a big rich guy? That's the explanation for you. I'm also guessing ***** size is proportional to height.
People really care this much about 2012 May :lol1:....
Bro, rich is rich. Diggers collect them in all sizes.
''Nah. He's not tall enough to take money from.''
wtf
Yeah but why choose the small rich guy when the big rich guy is standing next to him. Also 50 Cent is well known among everyone. They probably don't know who Floyd is.
It'll be very interesting to see how Wilder gets past the new & improved Gypsy King - with those freakishly longer arms and legs - coupled with the body dimensions and movement that keep his beany head and body tucked away from shorter fighters (even if slightly shorter).
You're basing your opinion on Fury outclassing Tom Schwarz. If Fury was that improved he wouldn't be fighting Schwarz in the first place.
Wilder is very fast and closes distance fast. Over 12 rounds he will definitely knock Fury down at least once.
Fury should have more power for the rematch. I'll give you that, but Wilder now has 12 rounds of experience fighting Fury. It's a 50/50 fight.
He rattled Wilder in the 12th he has enough power to keep others honest and hesitant. With his skill it makes him a nightmare as both Wlad and Wilder found out.
Fury wasn't at full power when the Wilder fight happened. His father said so before the fight
Problem with Fury is he ran from the rematch and then ran from Whyte. Wilder will win because he already has a psychological advantage and 12 rounds experience against Fury
Unless his balls were up at his belt line!!! A couple of shots were borderline but kovalev was done. That right hand to the chin took it outta him. He wanted out
Boxers wear cups. You don't need to punch directly on the balls to impact them. The shots were low. Watch the replay. He wasn't done or Ward wouldn't have resorted to low blows.
Ward cheated to beat Kovalev. That's just a fact. The first knockout by repeated ball punching.
Yarde has no chance to beat Kovalev. He has fought nobodies. He should be stepped up properly with matches against lesser fighters
I always think a standing count could be used in more situations in boxing. I don't know the exact rules as to when it is used but I think it could be used more to avoid controversies.
Khan is living on sparring 'victories' from years ago but any quick fresh fighter can cause another trouble in sparring. It's not like a real fight at all. He's deluded. Pacquiao would beat him in 7-8 rounds at most.
I was a Khan fan but he lost me when he stopped being serious about boxing. He goes from fighting nobodies to Terrence Crawford. It's like he just wants money and is living off being a big name years ago.
Standing 8's are dumb. It's pretty simple, either the fighter is helpless or he's not.
Sometimes it's not clear, sometimes the ropes are holding him up, where he would have gone down otherwise. Boxing fans want to see and pay to see good fair fights.
Well the rumour of the sparring section was Khan was getting the better of manny bit like khan vs D Garcia and then manny dropped him hard. They said Khan was going all in and Manny was in sparring mode.
It wasn't just one sparring session. They sparred all the time when they were both under Roach. Roach said it was even. Wouldn't be surprised if Khan got dropped. I'm also sure Khan did very well in them because sparring plays to his strengths more than Pacquiao but I feel that is what's giving him false confidence.
Pacquiao has always avoided Khan, which is weird. Pacquiao would stop Khan easy.

To be fair Fury had been out for 2 years and put loads of weight on and took lots of drugs. Wilder picked hin because he it was a big name and (he thought) an easy fight.
I pick Wilder to win the rematch. I still don't get why Wilder isn't fighting better opponents. Hopefully now that Joshua lost - Wilder will rate himself higher and take on all comers
Fury had 2 tune-up fights.
that's enough for any elite fighter.
He struggled against 2 bums. Before the fight. His father said he wasn't 100% and that his power wasnt there yet but he was ready enough for Deontay Wilder (that was back when they were calling him a bum)
