As previously reported on BoxingScene.com, World Boxing Council heavyweight world champion Deontay Wilder said Friday that he has lined up a highly anticipated rematch with Britain's Tyson Fury, to take place after Wilder's September rematch with Luis Ortiz. Click Here To Read More]
I agree. He is going to finish Tyson Fury this time but sooner. His timing was off the last time. I don't expect that too happen this time. I expect him to close the distance much faster and sooner by landing that right hand quickly.
Tell me what formula did you use to figure out the ten percent metric? Lol..History states that the boxer more than likely wins the rematch in essier fashion.
I don't have one. But Wilder's a smart enough fighter. He was reading Fury at times in the first fight. People say how great a boxer Fury is... Wilder landed 13 less shots than Fury the whole fight and you can bet Wilder's were 40% harder. No wonder Fury is earning some money first before he bows out with the rematch.
According to CompuBox punch statistics, Wilder landed 71 of 430 shots (17 percent), and Fury landed 84 of 327 (26 percent)
Counts are necessarily perfect seconds. But when Fury beat the count in the final round of his fight with Wilder. The ref basically had him do wind sprints back and forth across the ring which gave him a lot more time to clear his head than he should have been given. In the Wilder-Ortiz fight. Wilder was given extra time coming out for the eighth round after being hurt badly in the seventh. Both instances are pretty common in boxing today as they’re trying to focus more on fighter safety. But personally, I think in some situations it drastically affects outcomes in fights.
Im guessing you mean aren't perfect seconds.Fighters can only follow the referees count and obviously the ref hasn't got any reference but the timekeeper. I think Fury wouldve been ok without the little sprints as you said, he wasnt bucking like say Lewis Mccall 1.But ive seen alot of fights where the ref asks the guy to walk forward, are you alright ect. You're right about the Wilder doctor thing against Ortiz, that was strange. Boxing certainly is still a little dodgy. But i think the sometimes the refs are scared of the outrage, especially stopping a guy whos on hes feet when hes ahead in a fight.
This is the thing... What did Wilder learn in surviving (which is all he did) against Fury who was likely to walk away with his title in a UD?
I mean, Wilder is what he is. Quick for a HW, massive power, long and unique. But he is also a reaching, lunging, emotional driven boxer often out of position and off balance. It is the same reasons why Ortiz was scoring against him in their fight. But he HAS the ability to improve. He can still be himself with better balance and better defense. If he has learned zero, he will lose to the Dancing Bear. If he can adjust at all, I think he ends Fury in the 7-10 round area.
The Ortiz match will telegraph a ton I think. Mr. Kong is a decent technical fighter. How well he boxes Ortiz may tip the hand to how the Fury rematch plays out.
Well said. Fury has a better chance if he mugs him all night, leans on him against the ropes, with his weight advantage he can wear out Wilders legs. Never give Wilder any distance just punch and hold.
If he did that in the first fight there would not have been any knock downs. Would have been a crap fight though.
LMAO.....news flash, you got a controversial DRAW last time Bumsquad. A DRAW against a recovering coke addict who had to do 3 stints in the psych ward.
Is this clown on meth or PCP because he sure isn’t living in reality.
You can run but you can't hide Fury. Eventually, Wilder will find and catch you. Wilder must make sure that he works harder on his physical fitness this time. He has to get larger and stronger for the rematch. Ideally, he should come in weighing around 230 lbs. As opposed to the 208 lbs he weighed in their previous bout.
It's the ref that you are saying gave the long count not the judges and where abouts is he from again? That's right America
What? I’ve never said anything about a “long count”
the location the ring was built in means more than 0 american judges?

Counts have never been done in seconds, never once in the history of boxing. If you beat the referees count then you're still in the fight. When will this myth die?

Take care of ur contraversial fights "ASAP"...over 2 years later!!! and he somehow states he "knocked Fury out already" but was gifted a draw...Lol!! Lay off the blunts Wilder...and save the few brain cells u have left!!!
Wilder will win. He had 12 rounds to figure out Tyson Fury and the next fight Wilder will be 10% better because of it. That's all he needs to land a few more right hands. All Fury can do is the same thing he did last time.
There's a reason Fury ran from the rematch and there's a reason Wilder wants it so much.
Wilder should fight AJ next. All these fighters Wilder has lined up - have no belts. The Aj fight earns him the most money and if he wins - he will triple his value and unify the heavyweight championship. It's a no brainer. Wilder says AJ is an easy fight - take it now then.

Wilder is one of my favs, but King Fury takes the rematch by outboxing him even easier. It is ok though, because Ajoke will be more likely to fight him after he loses, so wilder will get some belts back if Ajokes balls drop and emancipates himself from his Masta.

Two years in between beating Stiverne once and it being his only non knockout win, to rematching him.
Hardly ever talked of needing to rematch Ortiz ASAP. Now he's signed to fight Ortiz and Fury in one hit. Before Joshua whom he goes on about avoiding him and wanting to face, without even so much as discussing and exploring that fight and the huge money it brings.
There's definitely something up with team Wilder avoiding meetings, contracts, details with team Joshua. But sadly for anyone not in denial, it really does seem Wilder is a fairly big part of that too.
He went from saying he'd be at the AJ fight in America to he won't go and two days before signs up to other rematches. Strange behaviour no doubt.
A british fighter in an American ring with an American ref against an American fighter on an American promotional card but sure the big daft brit got all the help.
