Damn, even I fell for this 'nice guy' Victor Ortiz. Man these two really need to hit it off in the ring. Forget Mayweather-Ortiz this is the fight I wanna see.
He has practically cleaned up the 140 pound division and is now the money man. He fought Salita, because he was a mandatory challenger. Peterson turned the fight down in April, so instead Khan fought against McCloskey.
If Khan moves upto 147, his chin will improve, and so will his power. He is tall and rangy and so should bed in well within the division. Roach believes he will improve by moving up.
Also don't forget he is still only 24 years old, so has a lot still to learn, and probably wont peak until he is 27-28
Devon Alexander was a complete hype job. For me, he's on a 3 fight losing streak. He'll get destroyed at 147, and basically become the next Malignaggi. He's a good kid, but sorry nothing special interms of boxing.
I want to see Khan v Morales for the Super WBA, IBF and WBC if Morales gets it.
I have no interest in seeing Peterson or McCloskey rematch ffs! Its Khans last fight at 140lbs and he should grab 3 belts and be undisputed. Bradley wont fight Khan,
Same, I wanna see Khan unify the division and start building a legacy
Paulie is fighting at 147 PERIOD!!..he's not gonna fight Brook, Bradley, Alexander, Kotelinik, Morales, or anybody else under 147....he said he won't be back till October or later...he might be getting hate from fans for the fight cuz it might be a tomato can..it WON'T be Mosley cuz if Mosley were to return im sure it would be at 154...Aydin, Bailey, Popoca, and Karass are all possibilities
Erm.. Brook is welterweight #justsaying
He said he'll retire at 28, according to you're post then, he retires in his peak?
Just because a fighter retires at 28, doesn't mean he peaks before that.
:nono:
Who actually says Khan would beat Mayweather. I remember when people on here were saying Devon "home town" Alexander and Tim Bradley would beat Pac, as they use a "slick African American style".
Don't you mean Devon 'It Burns' Alexander ?
Lol
or Maybe he would of Gotten Koed like Bredis Prescott in the 1st round you remember that?
People need to understand (Not saying you specifically don't understand) that Khan does not need Prescott, Prescott needs him. Any how Khan has said he wants to avenge that loss
I asked Dan Rafael (via twitter) about whether Khan definitely has to fight peterson or not?
His response : Within a certain time frame or he can ask for an exception or move up in weight. But no arbitrary stripping.
Great post IMO and if I knew how to give you a green K I would! I think Matthysse would give Khan hell. He has been robbed twice but that guy is impressive IMO. He may lack technically but his non stop pressure, power & granite chin is friggin scary! But I guess the money wouldn't be there after he has been robbed :(
To give Green K:
Go to the post of the person who you want to give Green K too and then click on karma, which will be on the bottom right of the post. The click add reputation, add some comments if you want aswell
He's a Brit Pakistani that thinks he's a Mexican! You know why? Because he's a fraud to begin with. Amerecon. Hope Floyd knocks him out and exposes this Con. To the public!!!!!!!!!!!!! People say Pacquiao's a fraud, no, correction the biggest fraud in boxing is at 140 and his name is AmereCon.
Sorry pal, but how does he think that he is Mexican ?
Exactly. Not being able to beat Pacquiao or Mayweather is not something to be ashamed of, they are two of the greatest fighters ever. Khan is really good, and should be recognized as such.
Your signature is amazing
i think refinement is all that is needed with khan at this point.... and more experience at the top level.
he has the skills, he has the team, he ha the top sparring and training, and so far he has the desire.....
refinement in his style and skills coupled with more experience, khan can and will just might be THAT good......
i honestly think that it was a weight issue pertaining to his chin..... same with ortiz..
when your body is depleted of water and not properly hydrated,it's about equal to fighting while having the flu, your body aches, punches are going to have a bigger effect on you......
now that he's gone up in weight, he's handled shots fine..... minus getting hit with any shot that would hurt anyone in the game, khan has held up nicely.....
he has it all right now,it's his to lose and fvck up...........
Thank you!
Finally someone who agrees that moving up in weight will help his chin and him in general
Maidana almost got the Job done maybe if he would of started earlier throwing bombs away he would of got that Ko. Any Pressure fighter that knows how to cut the ring maybe a Brandon Rios or Ortiz will Ko his overrated ass ( This is not the Amateurs ) Lets be real guys the moment he faces a good pressure and effective brawler in how to cut the ring , That's when we are really going to see what he is made out of ,and to me and im sure others looking at the Maidhana fight makes you see hes not this guy they make him out to be. Sure hes fast but he can't handle pressure, How can guys even say he has a good resume when he fighting old washed up Older legends, Barrera, Judah, Malinaggi a guy that lost to Hatton and Cotto. I always rag on Saul Alvarez because they put Bums against him but I don't see much difference in the Opposition that Khan is facing, What happened to the Rematch with Prescott? Why all of a sudden hes too good for Bredis? Now he wants to face Morales ? What a Warrior!, He is nowhere Mayweathers League or Pacquiao , He will never beat Mayweather or give any kind of trouble to Maweather, I see Money May dominating thats it. Money May is Excellent Superb. Khan is Ok
Maybe if Khan had 20 more seconds, he would have finished the fight in round 1
So you're saying he retires while he is still in his prime (Age 27-28)?
Well, Khan said he wants to leave boxing the way he entered the sport, and said he wants to clean up the 140 and 147 lbs division by 28.
I might be wrong cos I think you're allowed one fight in between winning the belt and fighting your mandatory.
Peterson Cayo winner is the IBF mandatory but Khan has no mando for WBA cos he made super-champ and fought his mandos there.
That means his next fight could be his mando, Morales for the sexy green belt or Madiana Guerrero winner for nothing but the money and class.
Right, thanks for that.
Guys can someone clear up this situation for me. Does Khan HAVE to fight Peterson/Cayo to prevent being stripped of his IBF belt ?
Also, in regards to Morales... Does he get a shot at the WBC belt ? As I hear Bradley may be getting stripped of his title
If so I would like to see Khan Morales fight, just for the sake of winning the WBC belt, even though is the WBC is a load of rubbish.
Thanks
The Ring magazine belt isn't a belt of an actual sanctioning body, you don't have mandatories, get stripped etc from it.
But both fighters and fans rate the ring magazine belt as the most unbiased and hence credible reflection of the number 1 guy in the division.
All the other organizations are money grabbing buffoons with no credibility.
Sure, but I don't get how it's used for fights, i.e.- Khans previous fights never involved the Ring title, so then why would it be fought for in his next fight?
Good.
Khan-Morales for the WBC, Super WBA, IBF and The Ring Magazine belts, baby !!
Amir Khan will become the undisputed Light Welterweight champion !!
Don't you also require the WBO belt to become undisputed. Also I'm pretty new to boxing, so how does this fight also involve the Ring magazine belt??
Khan could expose Ortiz's low left hand, and just win a UD by boxing on the outside. Whereas Ortiz would try to make it a brawl. He (Ortiz) also has the power to knock Khan down.
I'd pay to watch this fight
MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!
Power 1/10
Skill 5/10
Defense 1/10
Heart 2/10
Khan's is an overated bum. He wants to fight Floyd. Floyd would walk up in his local mosque and make him crap his prayer rug. Khan ain't nothin'. Mod's want to censor me and I say "You all are beeeitches!"
Wow, you are such a hater, why you bringing religion into this you fool!
Khan doesn't look as classy when fighting pressure fighters, but he can still grind it out. Also the move up in weight may help his chin. I fancy Khan by UD
