Haymon ,shaefer , and mayweather are more than enough of a power house to succeed Floyd's retirement plan.
That's is why it is VERY important for Dela Hoya to work with Arum. Together they can bring TMT down. The problem is that senile Arum may not want to get involve. He has nothing to lose anyway. He can just watch GBP implode
schaefer has no choice but to stick with GB. mayweather already has a promoter and an adviser. tmt won't make schaefer partner. why would they give him a big slice of the pie? he just doesn't fit in the picture.
schaefer will be hung out to dry. if he's smart, he should just kiss dela hoya's ass and do what's been told

Do you think those fighters will sign with Al Haymon without Schaefer's involvement? TMT presented him with an opportunity that is very big that he is willing to stab Dela Hoya in the back for it.
Pacquiao is faster, more accurate, and could last 12 rounds with 80-100 punches per round. But he will not rehydrate to 165 lbs just like Maidana did. And he would definitely not rough Mayweather up. Having said that, would he beat Mayweather? I say it will be as close but Pacquiao will get the majority decision
But if Pacquiao fights Maidana... it would not even be close. Pacquiao is an under rated defensive fighter. He could see those wild throws a mile away just like in the second Bradley fight. And imagine those straight right that Mayweather was able to connect but this time with Pacquiao's power. Maidane will always have a puncher's chance though
“@stevemaxboxing: Word Im getting is that Maidana got a significant 6-figures to wear the gloves he did on Sat night..... #boxing #theMoment”
Can anyone confirm this?
I'm beginning to think it was actually a smart move by Maidana. He get paid to wear the gloves. He have an excuse when he lose. He has a reason to ask for a rematch. WELL PLAYED!!
Plus it's an ego thing.. Schafer is successful in business and wants to run gbp like how the UFC does and not co-promote with other promotions... It takes time but gbp would eventually have all the major players much like how UFC has done in mma
UFC doesnt have sustainable business model. MMA fighters are getting robbed of their money. I say make it illegal to have boxers sign promotional contracts. And make it a bidding war who gets to promote a fight,
Stop right there. Mayweather Promotions does not even have a Promotional License for the State of Nevada. Mayweather Promotions is nothing without Golden Boy.
And Schaefer? He's out. He's history.
Not exactly. That's where Schaefer comes to play. Bringing him in TMT , they got a promoter. Its not hard to get a promotional license in Nevada. Heck, 50 cent even got one. Schaefer + Al Haymon's fighters + Mayweather Brand > Golden Boy
I know that this is perceived as the least likely occurrence but is still a real possibility.
Suppose Berto upsets Mosley and is now unified WBC/WBA ww champ. Then Floyd rather than doing nothing while Pac fights Clottey because it makes him look bad decides to fight Berto and Berto wins in what I would call a massive upset.
At the same time lets say Clottey pulls off what I view as a realistically possible upset against Pac.
We would now have the two top dogs being Berto and Clottey. If this is the super fight, could it still be considered such seeing as most ppl don't know who either of them are?
You should've also included Nate Campbell when he upsets Floyd Mayweather... just sayin'
floyd will crash the party and we will watch in excitement---i don't care who voted no---you all would be very excited if floyd does this--this adds to the fight--you know it does--it's good for boxing---a great foil plot--pac as the good guy(for now anyway)--against the bad guy--this has to happen--floyd has to show up---
Why did you do this survey again?
wouldnt you feel silly though if the only reason you watch floyd is to see him lose, and then the one time that he actually lost you missed it??
Like I said, Nate won't win. I dont think I wont miss a thing..
Again your blinded. I know this bias probably comes natural being a big pacquiao fan and probably one of his country men or of his nationality
BUT Blaming FLoyd Mayweather is not an excuse, The Ball was in Pacquiaos court as far negotiations were concerned. Pacquiao won each of the demands for the fight, Weight, glove size, ring size, and etc. Mayweather asked for one demand and got turned down. So he bent a lil further for the Pac Man and decided instead of 48 hours prior to the fight why not make it 2 weeks to ensure Pacquiao wont be weakened. Pacquiao having done this move against Ricky Hatton surely shouldve obliged, however he still turned everything down and instead took Floyd to Court.
doesnt it make sense to just handle the slander in the ring? I mean it wouldve been an even more beautiful win if he takes the tests comes out clean and beats the crap out of Mayweather doesnt it?
The way I see and the way the world should see it is that Floyd won in this whole fiasco. He brought the public to second guess Mannys skill. Filipinos and huge pactards will say it was a way for Mayweather to get out of the fight, but in the end it was Manny Pacquiao who rejected the fight and millions of dollars for 1 simple demand that he has done in the past and probably many times before.
It really is a big joke. Mayweather was ready to get his ass kicked publicly as long as the tests came out negative.
So just let the whole situation settle in your head before trying to justify Manny Pacquiaos actions which do not deserve back up since it was clear and evident that he was one who decided to choose a different fight.
I'm not saying Mayweather is to blame why the fight did not happen. They're both to blame. But it is unfair to Pac to conclude that the reason why this fight is not happening is because he is guilty of steroids.
And stop with the "pactards" thing.. what? everytime someone has an opinion for pac suddenly he is a pactard? Well, I guess you're a flomo, then... Geesh did it ever occur to you that I have a point?
get real. Your blindly protecting a guy who has shown his lack of concern for the fans and his countrymen to fight a man everyone, especially his fans and countrymen, want to see him fight.
Not only did he let boxing down a little but he just lost out on his biggest payday and probably another boxing history record PPV buys.
None of this makes sense on the Pacquiao side.
Did it ever occur to you that Mayweather could have made this fight happen if he did not insisted on the random blood testing? Shouldn't he ne responsible to fans, his countrymen and his payday as well?
be objective then. whats the point of pac-clottey? other than that top rank has both sides? pac also could have waited 2 weeks to see who wins berto-mosley. clottey is a heavy bag with feet in this fight. He will throw 5 punches and 2 headbutts per round, and maybe trip and fall a few times as well. This fight is junk and the only thing people can say is that "clottey is a true WW". well so what? so is Baldomir. Personally as a fan i would rather see pac-judah
The point of Pac-Clottey is to give the boxing fans the elast he can do for the disappointment that they (Mayweather) both created not a stay-busy fight.
And besides, why would PBF wants to stay busy? If there is no one available at this time, why cant he wait for May?
...there would be only one sanctioning body.
...there will be no promoters, managers and everyone fights the mandatories.
...there will be standard set of gloves, ring size and no catch weights.
...winner always get the majority of the purse.
The problem here is he looks like he is hiding something. You would have to be an idiot to pick pride over proving yourself to the world that everything you have accomplished was fair and square. I don't buy for one second he is that stupid. He knows if he takes the tests any less than 24 days he can't use whatever he's using, and he can't win without it. Whether that's true or not, thats what he's showing the entire world and he will have to live with it and suffer the consequences along with all his fans that are going nuts trying to defend him. It really is a sad situation and my heart goes out to all of you Pactards.
Even he does accept random blood testing, it will not prove that he is not on roids because even that is not totally reliable (e.g. Marion Jones). And also Pac has to win. Because if he didn't everyone will now question his past victories. So he is staking a lot more for the fight.
And don't be sad Pac is fighting Clottey next. Who is Mayweather gonna fight?
If Nate won against PBF? I would say props to Nate... But I wouldn't watch it because the only reason I watch a PBF fight (and probaby 70% of others) is to see him lose. And Nate won't win.
Pac is already thinking of retirement. He is doing this fight for his fans, for his politcal campaign or whatever but definitely he is not doing this for the money. And because of the harrassment he received, he is willing to walk away.
Well thats because the return fire to the head was too quick....Clottey can counter Pac to the body when he shoots in to punch Clottey to the head......Clottey can win this if its @ 147....but his timing needs to be 100% from round one and he needs to lift his workrate by 10-15 %
That's the problem. You can't expect someone to increase their workrate and not backfire expecially when they're not used to it. If he increase his work rate, he better be sure he KOs PAC because he won't have any gas for the later rounds.
Bravo!
I mostly agree with you that Mayweather's crusade to clean up the sport is a joke :D but I am going to politely disagree with you re: the running from the fight thing ;)
Pac could easily have accepted the same OST terms back in January, that he agreed to yesterday.....

Hundreds of Top Athletes and World Champions take those tests every year.
I have to be honest with you here....
Reading these Mayweather/Pacquiao threads is really hard work man.
I live in a different time zone than most guys here, and when I log on to a May/Pac thread for the first time there are sometimes over 40 pages of posts :D
After reading those 40+ pages I realise that the content of the entire thread is nearly identical to every single May/Pac thread this year.
They all end exactly the same way.....
After thrashing out all the various angles and opinions you have for the most part two differing viewpoints, depending on who your favourite fighter is.
Neither side is willing to bend on their opinion, because it will mean conceding something to the other side..... or more importantly, it will mean conceding something about their fighter. And noone wants to believe that their guy is less than perfect.
Personally, if this fight gets made, I'm just about at the stage where I'm hoping for a double KO in the 12th following a brutal war. Manny and Floyd are both acting like Prima Donna's.
I hope you really enjoy this fight if it happens bro, may the best man win.
I think I'm done with May/Pac threads, I love the knowledgable posts and hearing guys talk about their favourite fighter, but it takes soooo long to read 40-50 pages only to end up exactly where you were back in January :D
I agree. If the floy fans and the pac fans actually study the arguments in this thread, they would easily deduce that floyd demand drug testing and pac not agreeing to it is all about ego. They really dont care if the demand doesnt make sense or out of the ordinary. They're doing it because they just want to look bigger than the other.
Because "true" fans of either fighter and boxing in general, just want to see the best guys in this era fight. So I don't really get why fans are defending each other when neither of their actions are making this fight any closer.
Seriously, how hard it is to call one of the press to say anything. If Arum was saying lies, Ellerbe can just pick up a phone and say Arum is lying and it will spread like wild fire
burner says floyd will fight paul williams on march 13.
lulz
That will be suspicious! Mayweather should be random blood tested. That confidence comes from something.
:)
de la hoya is the promoter dumb ass!!! golden boy promotions will be promoting the mayweather fight with manny pac. golden boy is the one paying all the bills!!! so how is he gonna stay out of it???
Dela hoya is the promoter of Mosley dumb ass! And you could see how easily he threw Mosley out of the bus because of these comments. Floyd keeps all of his money and he is just saying that to so they will get something more out of the Pac-Money fight!
It SHOULD be at 147. Pac already proven twice that he IS a welterweight fighter.
Shame though, this fight would not bring Pac's reputation back. If he wins, the accusation for PEDS will be louder. If he do the random blood testing, the haters will say he ducked PBF. The only way Pac will regain his reputation was too lose. :(
If Mayweather won't fight Williams, Pacquiao is less likely to fight Williams. Heck Quackuiao ducked Foreman, he sure as hell won't fight Williams.
Mayweather may fight Williams in the future, but highly doubtful it would be in March or May. If he fights him it would probably be next year.:boxing:
He didn't want Foreman because it doesnt make business sense. Foreman doesnt bring anything on the table (excpet for this title). No one would watch a Foreman fight. And he needs a great win before the elections in May. Williams is a compelling fight for Pacquiao. I doubt he would win against Paul. After Clottey and if Mayweather is still not available. I suggest then Pac fights Foreman then go for P. Will. Frankly I dont buy the P. Will hype, he has been knocked out on his last fight what seems to be not the best shot that Sergio knocked out other guys. Imagine if Pac got that opening.
are people supposed to care that they are facing off via who gets more viewers? all people want is to see who would win a fight between the two of them. god boxing has gotten so ridiculous these days
I think a lot of us already gave up on that. And with Pac and PBF's pride, it seems like certain they won't fight any time soon. Boxing had been ridiculous for quite some time now.
"Floyd does not want a piece of Pac"??? You are talking about the same Pac who has never had a decisive victory over Marquez and was viciously knocked out by Juan in their last outing...
For the life of me, I don't get why people always bring up the Pac KO when talking about Floyd. Are you implying that Floyd could KO Pac, too? Just as Pac is a different puncher than Maidana, Marquez is a different counter puncher than Floyd. Marquez is willing to take shots just to connect that counter punches. In fact, if you look at that punch more closely, it is in fact a careless punch because he carried all his weight on that punch. If he missed, he couldve been the one lying in the canvass. A true pure boxer like Mayweather would not take that chance. Even on counters, he always has his guard up... I agree that Mayweather could win but not because of the style that Marquez employed.
Most of Mayweather's opponent was so concious about those counters that they second guess their punches. Maidana did not. He didnt care about the counters. He knew he can take Mayweather's punches. If he didn't get tired after 6, he couldve won.
this shit is crazy to me i still don't even see how Pacquiao is able to fight Clottey
no other guy from 135 would ever be able to jump up to 147 and fight Clottey nor is there anybody from 140 that could go to 154 and fight Foreman let alone knock them out...something aint right with that
He's a natural welterweight. Remember your man, Floyd, at the same age as Pacquiao were both 106 lbs. I bet if Floyd fought professionally then. I wouldnt be surprised if he accomplish the same feat.
