"Mayweather has asked to be put in the general population, according to the motion, but jailers have declined to do so because of his celebrity status."
I don't think his problem is with 'doing the time' but of being segregated. Personally I thought being segregated would be better as he won't have to put up with sh*t from other prisoners.
The only thing I don't get is if he did beat up his ex in front of his kids, how does he still get as much access to his kids? If he's violent and can't control his temper you would think he wouldn't be allowed alone time with them. Plus why would they want to be with a dad that traumatised them like he did and abused their mum in such a way? Yet in videos and fight night they are there with him!!
I'm sitting here laughing at Steve Bunce. He's hyping up Audley Harrison, saying"There's nothing like an Audley Harrison when he's up for it and fancies it." Back when Bunce was on Setanta, I can't remember what fight had just happened but Bunce branded Audley Harrison a joke of a fighter and said he would never have another Harrison fight on Setanta. Either Bunce has flipped or Boxnation are making him hype it up!!
Harrison says at this stage in his career he can get in the ring and make a good account of himself against any fighter including Haye and the Klitschkos. Give me a break, Audley hardly threw a punch against Haye or Price and got knocked out in both!! He is a scared fighter, winning Prizefighter proves nothing, I expect Wilder to KO him inside 4 rounds!!
I would have said Canelo but I think they will want to keep Canelo for May 2014, Cinco De Mayo. That being said there doesn't appear to be too many choices available considering everyone has opponents lined up unless someone's offered step aside money.
paulie's dude was in the zone. "i don't wanna be in the middle east."
Did he not say "This ain't the fuckin Midwest!!" because Broner is from the Midwest. Basically sayin you ain't at home and this bullshit ain't gonna fly out here!!
Like a few have said already October will be too soon for Haye's cut to have fully healed, November has Sky Box Office PPV with Froch vs Groves and Sky have made it clear in the past that they won't do 2 boxing PPVs in the same month. December and January is usually a bad time to ask people to buy a PPV because of Christmas and New Year. So February is the next best time for it. It's sh*t that it's so far away but I'm glad it's been rescheduled.
Also I know Haye has had previous in pulling out of fights but I'm not sure how people can blame Haye here as he's shown the cut and it was an accident. If he hadn't shown evidence of a cut then I would be calling bullsh*t like everyone else but he has.
It's all he said she said bullsh*t!! If you're a Pac fan your not going to believe anything Mayweather or his camp claim or say and believe whatever comes out Pacs mouth. If you're a Mayweather fan you're not gonna believe anything Pac and his camp claim or say and believe everything that comes out Floyd's mouth. A few years ago when discussions first took place Floyd claimed he signed a contract to fight Pac but Pac never signed then Pac said he was afraid of needles and it fell apart. Floyd's made some sh*t offers that anyone with common sense knows would never be accepted. Arum came up with bullsh*t about Joe Jackson and a consortium puttin money up for both fighters to agree a fight but nothing has been heard about it again.
In the end of the day both sides have f*cked sh*t up and both sides seem as stubborn as the other not to give up any ground. At this point if it happens then great I'll watch a great fight but if it doesn't then I'll not lose sleep over it as there's plenty other fights to keep me occupied.
Best boxing book I've read:

Four Kings by George Kimball
Also Hands of Stone: Life and Legend of Roberto Duran by Christian Giudice is good.

Cheers for the link, enjoyed that!! I'm not sure who I want to win, I like both men. I thought Dawson looked a little nervous but Ward looked laid back as hell!! Can't wait for this fight!!
I'm a boxing fan first but Floyd Mayweather is my favourite boxer. I like Broner and wouldn't stop liking him just because he got beat. 1 loss doesn't ruin a fighter. Broner will hopefully learn from this fight, improve and come again!!
Maidana was the better man and deserved the win. He showed he had class in the post fight interview after all the bullshit Broner talked to him he was honest and is a genuine guy. Broner was a dick leaving the ring like he did, he was probably embarassed after all the trash he talked and he should be.
It won't stop me being a fan of Broner though. Broner is no Mayweather and never will be. He needs to stop imitating Floyd and be his own man!!
Seeing as how it'll finish about 6 am over here, I'd cry myself to sleep. Then I'd wake up and compose a thread on Boxingscene giving Ortiz his props for handing Floyd his first loss. Then I'd go about my life awaiting a rematch hoping Floyd could avenge his only loss.
I can't see Ortiz winning but you never know!!
I don't think Floyd would care if Pacquiao gets all his money or not! This fight if it ever happens will be the richest fight in boxing for years. I just think he doesn't want Bob Arum to be part of it and make money from the fight!!
Don't you get it? That's the brilliance! Place a small bet, make a little money, and no one is suspicious!
They're saying Floyd could earn over $30 million for the Ortiz fight depending on PPV sales! So why would they care about making $2,000. That's nothing compared with $30 million.
didnt say anything interesting like "I'll fight Manny Pacquiao if he can get past one of my leftovers."
Now that woulda been something!
The guy asked him if Pac loses will you not fight him?
Floyd replied "Even if he loses, if he want to fight, we'll fight, just take the test"
We'll only know once Pac vs Marquez is done.
After the headbutt Ortiz hugged and kissed Floyd on the cheek. He said sorry to Floyd and the ref so why did he feel the need to touch gloves/hug AGAIN? When he tried to touch gloves for the last time, Floyd had his hands up then waited a sec then unloaded. Ortiz should've been more aware, protect yourself at all times. It's the most basic principle to boxing a fighter should know!! Saying that Cortez should be forced in to retirement, he's finished.
Anything between 141-147 is WW
Floyd at WW-
Victor Ortiz- KO
Shane Mosley - UD
JMM - UD
Ricky Hatton - TKO
Baldomir - UD
Zab - UD
Sharmba Mitchell - TKO
3/7 = 43 percent
Manny Pacquiao at WW-
Shane Mosley - UD
Joshua Clottey - UD
Miguel Cotto - TKO
ODH - RTD (basically counted as a TKO)
2/4 = 50%
Huzzah for math
When they said 17 percent, they didn't count one of his victories as a KO and basically had it 1 KO in 6 fights (because they said it while he was fighting Ortiz)
What about the Margarito fight? That would make it 2/5 = 40%
Mayweather - 43%
Pacquiao - 40%
Not much between them TBH
Margarito fight was at junior middleweight as was Floyd's fight with De La Hoya that's why neither appears here
50%>43%
Margarito fight wouldn't apply because OP asked who had a higher KO % in Welterweight... as I highlighted in my previous post. That would be true if it went from WW and JMW... but then Floyd's would go down too due to DLH. Yes there isn't much between them though, you're right there.
My appologies, it's been a tough day at the office and I'm still here. I typed without thinking and forgot the Margarito fight was Light Middleweight.I'll take a slap for that :slap:
I just press the 'Box Office' button on my remote control about 10 mins before ppv starts. Select 'Mayweather - Ortiz live' press enter and it comes on.
Hatton looks healthier than he did for the Pacquiao fight. He looked half dead for that weigh in.
Ricky looked strong.
Lovely, glad to hear it. In the comeback documentary that was on this week I thought his face looked a bit gaunt and drained. I know he lost a lot of weight for this.
