it seems to me as far as I can remember, which isn't THAT FAR or that much boxing history either... that the HW champion of the world only fought like once a year, almost like watching Hogan back in the day on the WWF. You could only watch him with pay per view Wrestlemanias and stuff. Now the division is so shambled that there's too many non-worthy opponents trying to force the champions to fight often or be called hurtful names and be ridiculed
:p
And youre not understanding all I said. He could have moved like Sugar Ray Leonard, truth be told, he was in the ring with a dead fish. Castillo didnt do anything that would challenge Wlad that fight.
why are you trying to spin some false web of logic here?
people were talking about Castillo like it was supposed to be some huge fight. Most times, those chosen for tune-up fights are expected to be like dead fish in the ring anyways. I simply said I like the improvements made on WK that showed in the Castillo fight, and you seem to be hung up on how good Castillo was or that certain punches didn't land. I don't care, this doesn't change what I first said, and really it doesn't even effect it.
If your favorite boxer was Danny Williams, but you felt one of his weaknesses was his blubber (i.e. lack of muscular definition / physique), then you'd be happy to see his improved muscles if he in fact cut the fat and got in shape, right? Would it make so much a difference if he was fighting a dead fish? what matters is when it's GO TIME, and that is what's ahead for WK right?
you've just proven by your post that you have no idea what it is I'm talking about.
what I was impressed about that fight could have been there even if you were in that ring instead of Castillo.. read again and you'll see I was talking about Wlad's movement, his personal improvement into his array of boxing characteristics. One that often separates European and American boxers possibly.
Get off Wlads nuts seriosuly.
i'm glad those smart on this forum see the truth about you nash.
if you really think what i said was 'nut-hugging' then you are hopeless really.
If you, the great hate were out on your feet, on the way down, even Miss Bozo or anyone here's grandma could throw a shot right on your button, and it'd be lights out for you...
if you want here's a bit more of common knowledge you might not know. this fact is so real that some boxers prefer to take a knee and have an 8 count instead of standing there vegging out waiting to have their blocks knocked off..
This is not clear yet. I think we have to see Wlad-Peter to make the conclusion.
Wlad's defense is his weakest side, and I hope Stewart has worked on it.
Wlad with a (much) improved defense is what we need at the moment.
Stewart has worked on Wlad's defense from what I saw against Castillo. Wlad was actually moving bobbing and weaving, instead of keeping all of his body still but his head..
...It's funny because if your a fan of the Klitschko's then some people of other races or even white liberals automaticaly brand you as the grand poo ba of the KKK. If you like the Klitschko's then all of a sudden your a racist or some sort of redneck. I'm not saying that some people don't like the Klitschko's because of that but in the end every race roots for their own to some extent. How about liking them because they are good guys and good men outside of the ring? How about the fact that they stand by each other like family should? You could be a fan of Evander, Winky, and Jeff Lacy, Tarver, etc. etc. but if your a Klitschko fan then all of that is negated. We have a ton of guys on this site who only like certain fighters that are very similar and they rarely get called on it or lumped in a group. IMO the guys with hate for the Klitschko's are much easier to peg as racists than the guys who are fans.
right on!
they are Doctors for goodness sake! They never talk trash, they help out the community, they actually make a difference, instead of galavanting with their bling bling teaching kids to be conceited and selfish, beating on women, doing drugs, etc (all of which are problems that effect all the races of sports btw)
part of intellegence is also realizing when someone is using wit, banter, logic, sarcasm, seriousness, or just plain messin around.
I hope that one day you realize that I should be thought of as someone that is quite care free and not taking it too personal, while being able to joke about things, but also adding serious thought provoking comments that have substance to them. It's not my thing to try and down someone else, because I know I have my own downfalls to worry about, rather I might comment on a person's point of view, which should be considered respectable in a forum that contains many debates and discussions on it.
The man has a point, you think Wlad would let Lewis off the hook in that 2nd round? Wlad has better killer instinct than Vitali. When he saw Brewster wobble in the 4th round on his way down, he charged toward Brewster to finish him.
too bad those instincts were 2 seconds too late in the fight against Brewster... Wlad woulda sealed that victory had he threw in another shot. that's how Buster Douglas beat Tyson... it's all about those extra shots on the noggin even tho the guy is out on his feet... gotta put them into la la land to secure it.
Thought provoking, not at all. You're defending Wlad and Vitali to a higher degree than anybody else on the board.
well if i had to choose, I prefer to defend someone instead of attacking...
it might not provoke thought for you, but it might for someone else..
.....People want to bash the whole Wlad/Manny relationship and at first they were probably right. However, they seem to be on the same page now so I will also reserve judgement like you are. Certain people like to downplay the Castillo win but the guy had just beaten Michael Moorer and there were a number of posters on here saying that he had a better than even chance to beat Wlad. Wlad looked smoother, faster, and more focused in that fight. His body language was great and his weight was down a little. The Peter fight will tell us all we need to know about Wlad and his future with Manny.
yeah, there will always be haters that try to down others, rap up some lyrical lies to make them look silly, decide who's a 'legitimate boxing fan',or even turn an eye to something that is obviously true.
Manny Stewart might not be the best at what he does, as that can be considered an opinion, where haters get their fair chance to stink up the place. BUT Manny has been doing it for a while, and part of his job is to be a scout selecting the proper talent for what he envisions doing. He selected Wlad, even with the circumstances. So either Manny's lost it, he's made a bad decision (obviously possible), or it just hasn't unfolded yet and there is more good things to see from Wlad.
If Wlad could have gotten LL in trouble like Vitali did, he definently would have had a better chance of finishing the job. I dont know if Wlad could take the punches that LL landed on Vitali though. Wlad, offensively, is on a higher level than Vitali, but I think that's the only advantage Wlad has over Vitali
as much as I'd like to agree with that... look at when Wlad fought Brewster. He should have easily won that fight and would have if he just threw in one or two more punches as Brewster was wobbling around before he got knocked down.
How do you know his fans are mostly white?
here on this forum?
Well I've got white-dar, like a radar that knows other whites.
:D
what is white anyways? it's just a pigment. no one's white except albinos (no offense) I'm a mutt that has many different nationalities, but i'm considered a caucassion  who cares, I know i'm an earthling at least.
A possibility:
Trying to teach a young boxer without the needed hands-on experience could result in a loss of otherwise applied natural instincts, that are crucial. Like always thinking / remembering what was learnt and the applications, resulting in the missing free-flow killer instinct.
So i guess at the end of that round when Brewster was in his corner and wlad hadnt picked himself up off of the ground. that was a true showing of his Stamina right ?
one thing's for sure, it wasn't anything to do with Brewsters punches..
Yeah, the thing I hate about Vitali Klitschko is that he uses his right hand AND his left hand in the boxing ring...
I mean COME ON!! WHO DOES THIS GUY THINK HE IS!??
next thing you know, he's going to start trying to "dodge punches"
Hahah, you really are that crazy.
you thought I was joking?
you ought to learn to be less effected by the little things in life.
craziness is sometimes good. there doesn't always need to be an explanation..
Pno....
What does your "white-dar" tell you about "Imsoflyy" ?
LOL
well, I don't really have such a thing, it's more just a feeling or a guess, right?
Nash? well, I don't think he's being himself, so it's hard to judge, but if I had to guess, I'd say he isn't white... not that that matters, a man is a man, and all are created equal.
This fight is interesting for two reasons:
1) Something we know ..... Vlad sleeps hard if he gets tagged flush.
2) Something we don't know .... can Peter take shots? Maybe he won't react too well if he's caught on the noggin'.
When has Wlad ever "slept hard"???
your statement is incorrect.
Brewster didn't win the fight against Wladamir, Wlad lost the fight. when corrie sanders hit Wlad hard as a mofo, he got up each time... so where's this "sleep hard" trash?
I would try to bankrupt your ass with a bet but you probably dont have any points.
yeah, things that really don't have much of an effect on my life aren't of any great importance to me, such as "points" or betting them on fights. BUT it's cool for people to have hobbies such as sports and being a fan of such sports, I'm more a fan of a intellectual discussion (but I try not to take myself too seriously), but I like boxing, which makes this site a good place to visit. But if you want my points, you can have them.
you should try to lift people up instead of putting them down Nash, I think you'll be much more happy, content, and peaceful in your soul.
I may not be the smartest guy, but when a fight takes place or even is 'spoon-fed' to a fighter, it might not be the standard wait for the chance (i.e. winking eye or wide open mouth) before the punch comes, then counter with a jumping right/left/right/left counter. Lots of times, certain skills/tools that are NEEDED to compete at certain levels or contests are sharpened/worked on/perfected.
lesser terms:
it's not always KO or UD that's important, sometimes things like defense, stamina, movement are focused on in a "tune-up fight"
let's look at the fight with Castillo.
I was IMPRESSED. not at how fiece WK was or how he thrashed Castillo or even how great he looks when he's not drugged
:p
i was impressed for the simple fact that Wlad was almost bouncing around with his movement. He was moving better than even Castillo (which I think someone recently stated hadn't been a HW but for so long). WK was cutting the ring off from the lighter Castillo. This is what he needs. something to keep his blood pumping, something that will sharpen certain aspects of his defense, something that WILL help a fight against Sam Peter.
no?
