Any Japanese So-Called "World Champion)
Here in Japan, they're so quick to mention the number of so-called "world champions" that they have, but don't be fooled. Not one of these guys have fought outside of Japan to either challenge for, or defend the titles. It boils down to these guys having no heart, and being backed by big money promoters whom the WBC and WBA have no problem accepting bribs from. Any top notch amateur or journeyman for that fact, would put it on any of these guys....straight cowards!
Come to think of it...when was the last time any japanese boxer ever won or retained a world championship outside of japan?? Amen to that! I've been saying the same thing for years! I live in Japan and have been thrown out of press conferences because I'd ask that same exact question.
Pretty boy bitch got what was coming to him. I feel great after hearing this.
Mr,
I'm definitely feeling everyone on your list, but Kameda shouldn't be remotely thought of with the likes of any of the legends you have on your list. Being an ex fighter living in Japan, I can assure you that he, along with the so called "world champions" out of Japan have been spoon fed taxi and jeepny drivers to pad their records. Everyone out there, do NOT believe the hype when it comes to any of these guys here. (No disrespect to your list my brother).
Why even report this? I live in Japan and until any of these so-called "champions" and "fighters" here actually travel abroad and earn their title shots by beating credible opponents instead of the WBA and WBC selling titles and title shots, they'll never have any credibility in the eyes of real boxing people.
I'm not a Kameda fan in the least, but he definitely was the busier of the two and I had him winning the fight. Pong has his moments, but he was hardly accurate or busy enough. It looks to me that by awarding Pong the victory, it sets up a 5th meeting between him and Naito.
You definitely called it bro (Pong via close decision). Did you watch the fight? If so, what do you think? I was rooting for Pong, but I thought Koki did enough to win. Sounds like they're setting the stage for a 5th Pong vs Naito fight.
As a former fighter living in Japan, I can definitely verify how crooked the Japanese are. None of their so-called "world" champions fought a credible top ten opponent, nor have any of them had to travel outside of Japan to fight for a title. These guys pay the WBA and WBC BIG LOOT to give undeserving "fighters" title shots. It's not uncommon to see guys with less than 10 fights under their belts getting title shots.

Wonderful Article!!
I'm really pleased to see a truly respectable website speak the truth regarding the constant mismatches in Japan. I'm a former boxer who's residing in Japan, and I can't tell you enough how corrupt the boxing game is here. They're padding these guys records by bringing over cab and jeepny drivers from the Phillipines, Thailand, and Mexico. Fightnews.com should be ashamed of themselves that they're allowing one of Japan's most corrupted, and biased so-called boxing "experts," "Joe" Koizumi, as a correspondent. I sure hope BoxingScene also touch up the fact that NONE of these so-called Japanese "world" champions never beat any contenders, or travel outside of Japan to challenge for the titles that were bought for me....Uh, I mean they earned:) You have guys with 5 and 6 bouts fighting for titles. I'll go ahead and stop venting for now. I love this site!
