Why not move Inoue all the way up to 147 wher he could beat spence and crawford both in the same night!? He prob would too. But the guy is not a natural 118. Yea he still dominates even when going up in weight bit 122 is a reach. At least for now. Just for the record, the Uzbek got a major gift from Hearn while matchroom wanted to show TR they can pull that same Bs. What was disgracefull was doing it to a true champion ( Daniel Roman). Talk about a class act in the sport you need to start with Roman! Hearn blew it there and won't agree to that matchup now that Arum lost his infactuation for the eastern block fighters. Just ask Loma about that. So judges would probably be the hardest thing to agree on. Btw, since Casimero would embarrass the Uzbek can you imagine what the monster would do to him? Not pretty to think about. Although deserving. Until he gives Roman the rematch the Uzbek will always only be just that!
Marvelous was and is the toughest I ever seen! Duran proved to have the best chin I ever seen. Leonard was the smartest.. And they all were from that insane era of boxing that hooked me for life. As well as create more frustration nowadays that need be. Frustration in matchups and true deserving champs who earn their belt. And keep it till you pry it from their beaten carcass. He's absolutly right.
Funny how Crawford and Spence use that saying. All I see is easy ways for them to hold on to their belts! They will pollute the welterweight division by not giving those deserving a chance. I don't see p4p in either one. It takes guts as well to be champ not just gutwind from promoters and networks. There are only soo many mismatches they can sell to public before it becomes obvious to even those who get their news from facebook or those who actually buy into the ppv event.
Great fight! Standing ovation in my livingroom after each round. Didn't think Can would get the decision but can't disagree. I personally had the score 117-115 for Can with 4 rounds at 10-10. Never scored 4 rounds like that before in a fight. If it went the other way, wouldn't have been disapointed. Definatly a FOY candidate along with that cards headliner. Props to Hearn's matchmakers!
I've been saying for a couple years how TR has been trying to sabotage this kid. It was clear with the two Hart fights. He never wanted those only Arum wanted Hart to get that title from Zurdo and did all he could to make that happen. The two fights between the Hart fights were two most champions would not have taken. Won't go into the details but it's interesting how that played out. I like Ramirez and hope he gets what he deserves, and that is to prove to the world that he is for real!
I'm only guessing, but it seemed Navarrete was drained from the start in last nights fight. Maybe it has taken a toll making weight for the fith time in 14 months. Maybe he should go to 126 anyway. Other title holders at 122 will wait for him to jump up I'd bet because other than last night Navarrete looked to be too much for anyone.
I like the step up in level for Conlan. He's proving to be dedicated and for the most part has his head in the game. If That's what appears to be the path he's on this is a good test for him. Hope he contiues in this direction and he stays humble. A humble fighter learns and improves. A overconfident fighter ends up on his a...
Maybe "Zurdo" should become a druggie get busted using then top rank might give him a top fight he deserves. Is that what it takes? Top rank has the best at that division and seem to penalize their WBO champ for doing it right! F...... Redidiculous. Benevidez has proved nothing but a lack of willingness to strive. If he isn't another paper pretender from Top Rank then prove it! Try and take the WBO belt. Then again that organization is losing credibility in every true boxing fans eyes and they don't give a damn!
When you got a judge from Great Britain and none from Ireland, there might be some bias there. Only after the crowd loudly and passionately bood the judge, ref and any other person from England. Passion is what fans bring but, be smart about it. Don't offend the judges.
Two class fighters and two epic fights. Never seen a middleweight throw over 1200 punches untill their 1st fight. All pro in how Murata adjusted his style for the 2nd. Props to both fighters! Makes it worth being a fan seeing performances like they put on.
Shame on Arum and the WBO!!
Is this the best they can do for their champion? Arum is showing the boxing world if you strive to be the best, top rank will hold you back from becoming the best. While the WBO cant find a true contender in their ranks to give a deserving title shot? SHAME ON ARUM!!! SHAME ON WBO!!!
Loma humbles Lopez. Just what this fan needs. Dumb punks with big mouths getting put in their place. Cmon f....ng virus hurry and subside so we can get on with setting these spoiled kids straight!!
Goid point. Taylor does benefit on matchrooms venues. Personally thought Postol beat him despite knockdown. He's a much better boxer now I belive from that experience. He improves his game everytime he goes out. Going to be a force if not already.
Rodriguez didn't want the fight anyway and Nery offered up the free pass card. Eventualy, nothing new to Nery but behind the scene it will come back to bite Rodriquez..I know Rodriguez did his end to make weight and nery was a pound off. Well, stupid Nery but if ready Rodriguez coulda took more money and gone on with it.. PPV purchases will be substantially less. Just lost my purchase.
Well at least Ruiz calls it team Canelo. That I can understand. All those champions didn't get to where they are now under Reynose's training or stylistic approach of fitting a round peg into a square hole. All those big names earned their titles through other trainers. It's just a fad and the Canelo trainer uses his name as leverage to probably get them more money and most likely help persuade judging. That's all great for the fighter and team Canelo. Doesn't merit any praise toward the trainers ability to train. If Ruiz accomplishes anything more it will be because of Ruiz, his dedication within and the experience he brings with him from Manny's school of attack!
It's not as much trusting his opponent's lack of hospitality but the crazy american public. Especially now that they planted the seed in some psycho's head. I don't blame Feigenbutz. Anyway he doesn't need that water. He'll win a grudge match anyway.
Interesting at least. Navarrete is a much bigger fighter and I really don't see Inoue going up to 122 any time soon. If so, no matter how much I like Navarrete, Inoue puts the wood to him! I think even Navarrete will be impressed after being knocked out. Actually Inoue probably is the only one who could ko Navarrete. That is a monster to stay away from if you are a champ.
How do fans get excited about this circus act? The fighters lost face and are going for the money. Ok I get that, but they could have done it with a little more respect to the sport they are in. I get the feeling we're in store for a wwf smakdown not a boxing match.
I had to watch the Valdez vs Servainia fight aftetwards to wash that ugly performance away. Always liked Valdez. Still do. Just wondering what is wrong with him. Another weird thing diring the fight, I never agreed with Tim Bradley more than what he was saying during the fight. Even. A. Ward said the same thing about the change in Valdez. It's not soo much Valdez being exposed it's the realization to many and I hope Valdez sees it too. Reynose no se nada!
I just gotta hope the matchups I like to see are fighters with the same promoter and their posse promotties. Hoping for real matchups that should be is foolish. Sorta like baseball and AL vs NL. Just doesn't happen watching your favorite pitcher go against favorite batter when they are in different leagues. Or in boxing, with different promoters. Only difference in that business decision is in boxing they actually have a dicision to that affect. Baseball is law and laid out. No changing the sceduale. Boxing can but don't. Sad for everyone involved. Maybe need a promoters union..
