Hall of Famer Marvelous Marvin Hagler, who retired with a record of 62 wins, including 52 inside the distance, two draws and three defeats, shakes his head at the amount of titles that are on offer in his former sport today compared to his heyday. Click Here To Read More]
Reiterating,
You should do research because you sound and smell like a mong.
SRL was 31 when he fought Hagler and 28 when he retired.
Floyd was 40 when he fought McGregor.
Floyd had retired because he was old and shot. Ray retired because his eye got jacked. Big difference there fùcktard.
When Floyd was 31 he fought the JMW WBC champ and dominated 85% of the fight.
I think it's time to put the jockstrap down son.
Hagler was a B+ level gatekeeper, get over it.
You're on your own now lil' fella, you're out for good. I don't do level 0 trolls. Get your levels up.
:cool2:
PS
And its still no excuse. Leonard was out for 3 years and came back and fought the mw champ.
Floyd fought a guy without a single boxing fight. That never looks impressive.
Research what? Connors brilliant boxing record?
Fighting the mw champ in a comeback fight>>>>>>>>>fighting a guy with 0 professional boxing fights.

Save the excuses. Ray Leonard was out 3 years and came back to fight the mw champ of the world.

After being retired for two years and making 17x Haglers biggest payday (19m) against a superstar from another sport. Hagler was having a meltdown 2 years after retiring.
Ali did exhibitions too and in sillier fashion.
Floyd moved up divisions and dared to be great. Hagler hung in the pocket grinding scrubs and smaller guys coming up. That's the facts.

That wasnt as hard as beating a guy who was 0-0, in his 50th fight.

how utterly ridiculous
possibly the very worst casual-fan description of " great "..... that I have ever seen
you literally would not know a great fighter if he punched you in the face
so, a guy who is " better than good "..... is an ATG in your book huh?
you have literally exposed yourself in this thread
every bit of casual-fan nonsense..... you have run with
the only thing you have not specifically said..... is that Golovkin is great because you love him lol
Your logic is not really on point here as usual but I like your passion!!
Very good means great lol. From Google 'Great means it's better than good, as in very good.'
Beat Canelo twice and Danny once. Beat 17 good-great fighters and about 7-10 of those are really good, or great, fighters. All in their relative primes, all different styles. Those are facts bro. Just give credit where it is due. GGG has faced a lot of challenges in his career and has never been outclassed or even close to it. Deserves a lot of credit for his great career.
GGG dropped Danny and won the punch stats 9-2-1. Probably should have won 9-3 I agree with you on that fight, should not have been 8-4!
We disagree on GGG it seems, but I encourage you to keep studying the sweet science, I admire your enthusiasm if not your analysis. God Bless!

Shucks, I mean wow - beating a 25-2 Caveman Lee (real name) when you was 52-2-2 and then when you put that whippin a 30-0 homegrown no-name Obelmejias when you was 54-2-2! That's fo' real!
For all y'all that forgot about that 20-1 Hamani when you were 46-2 or was it that 50-15 Marcos 'Mo Cushion for the Pushin' Geraldo that lost to everybody and their mother?? They was beast doe!
No no wait, I know -- it was when you beat that 10-5 kid Jamie Thomas when you were 44-2-1!!!
That my friends, that was the hard road. Tell these kids how it was Marvin!!!
That wasnt as hard as beating a guy who was 0-0, in his 50th fight.
none of that rubbish is criteria for greatness
WHO, with consideration given to when/how..... nothing else
there are great fighters who did not have great amateur careers..... and there are KO kings, who were not great fighters
FACT: Danny Jacobs is NOT a great fighter lol
that really is a silly thing to say..... because you are proving that you cannot differentiate between very good, and great
Golovkin does not have a career-defining win, and has never beaten a great opponent..... that is simply a fact man
you calling Golovkin great, for beating Jacobs, and NO that fight was not 8-4..... would be like you calling Gisele Bundchen a lesbian because she won't sleep with you

Marvelous was and is the toughest I ever seen! Duran proved to have the best chin I ever seen. Leonard was the smartest.. And they all were from that insane era of boxing that hooked me for life. As well as create more frustration nowadays that need be. Frustration in matchups and true deserving champs who earn their belt. And keep it till you pry it from their beaten carcass. He's absolutly right.
Hey man, I thought you overdosed and died back in January, 1986. Looks like the boy is back in town again. Rock On!:headbang:
I said who would you favor, ALL TIME, at MW over GGG, not current guys lol.
Who is your top 5 at MW?
DJ is a really good/great fighter and he came in there to survive and barely did that lol. Got dropped and clearly beat 8-4.
SRR is a legend but he's more of a P4P top guy, and probably WW before MW, since he fought at all types of weights and did his best work at WW.
Anyone who ignores GGG's incredible amateur career/stats, and his ability to really box, while also ignoring his extremely high KO percentage and impressive win list about 17 deep is just not a rational person and their input on boxing is irrelevant to me. God Bless man be well.

dude, I painted you a picture
ATG consideration comes down to one thing...
... WHO did you beat, with consideration given to when/how... NOTHING more
and then I asked you..... who did Golovkin beat ?
insinuating that it comes down to a mythical head-to-head matchup is simply not how ATG works
Golovkin has 0 great wins
his resume is.....
Lemieux
Jacobs *
that is it
oh, right..... and I suppose we should mention Murray..... Murray, a GOOD fighter..... the best of the rest
good, is not great..... you need to learn the difference
1) FACT: Canelo proved that he is the #1 middleweight
2) I would favour Jacobs to beat Golovkin in a rematch
3) I would favour Saunders to beat Golovkin
4) I have no idea whatsoever if Golovkin can beat Andrade, Charlo, or even Derevyanchenko..... I think he could, and I would slightly favour him..... slightly
Golovkin could be in the top 5..... but I wish that he would finally sack up and willingly take a meaningful fight against an opponent not named Canelo
you are truly insane
what about Harry Greb ? :D
what about SRR ? :lol1:
could Golovkin have beaten Matthew Hilton ? :lol1:
you are truly insane
Golovkin scraped past Danny Jacobs you nutcase

serious question..... WHO ?
Props to Hagler real recognize real
Agree people need to realize to be considered and placed near the top it’s all about the great scalps you’ve collected when they were in or near prime. You can’t be placed on it because of what you would have done. There needs to be substance
That’s why Golovkin May have been the best in his era which was weak as f.uck his resume lacks any depth as far as names to even be in the discussion as a ATG MW. You can say he was ducked by his era of guys who had any name that carried substance or say like you believe he swerved a Ward fight or every name of the next era of legit names with the exception of Canelo. But ATGs always have multiple scalps Great Chqmpions or legit HOFers and fought them in and around their prime. To be in a ATG discussion you need to prove without a doubt you were near or the best of your era if it had multiple ATGs around the weight. You can’t be placed on it by saying he would beat so and so you need proof against other great fighters and Golovkin doesnt have enough to be considered
Same way the Klits held the crown in the division for years but never fought any names needed to be in the discussions of greatest HW and the 1 time Klit did Lewis who was on his way out broke open his face and took the W
Aboutfkn time whats your opinion on Saunders swerving Andrade to fight some German street sweeper for a168 strap. Or Tyson most likely dodging a rematch with Wilder to go over to ESPN probably killing a rematch to most likely fight a soft touch for possibly more $

Seriously though - can you really watch this and say with a straight face you think Monzon is even close to GGG? Just a different era, different brand of fighter 40 years+ from when Monzon fought.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhUGbzsx0S8
I maintain GGG beat 17 good to great fighters, 14 by KO, all clear wins. A few great wins. Who at MW would you put ahead of GGG?
The only guy I think in the running for number 1 all-time with GGG at MW - Hagler. Hagler has 2 great wins - KOs of Hearns and Mugabi. But also a few bad losses/performances - barely beating an old fat slow Duran; getting schooled by a smaller SRL; getting beat by Willie Monroe and Watts; losing to Monroe again before a late KO. Not an extremely impressive resume himself. Hagler had trouble against guys, even pretty average guys, who could box and move and take a punch. GGG still KOs guys like that. Hagler was tough as hell though gotta give him that.

Stopped reading after you said Monzon would have no chance against Golovkin. You clearly don't know what you're talking about.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhUGbzsx0S8
Watch the video though? Anyone saying Monzon had a chance against GGG is very likely a big GGG hater, who wants to pose as some type of boxing historian even though they very likely have never actually seen Monzon fight.
Anyone who would watch that video of Monzon and say he could hang with GGG - a great fighter 50 or so years into the future of Monzon, is an idiot and/or biased. Look at that weak ass jab Monzon has lol come on dude.
