Mister Wolf thanks for sharing the interview.
And as far as I'm concerned Terence Crawford is the number 2 P4P fighter in the world and the number 1 welterweight, I understand Spence Jr has unified but Crawford would too if he had the opportunity. Bomac was 100% right when he pointed out that Thurman wasn't looking for Crawford when he was champion but now he got nowhere to go he wants to get paid now. Why doesn't Thurman ask ESJ to send the contract? They both with PBC so they can make that in no time at all, no, Crawford should only be looking to unify at this point, he would destroy Brook and get no credit. Thurman would be a good win but I understand if he doesn't want to fight someone who only wants to fight after they done lost everything unless Thurman's looking to accept the small portion of the purse for the opportunity but any 50/50 talk and he can gtfoh
You hear Crawford's response to Gary Russell's claim :lol1:? So basically he's CORROBORATING Russell's account! That he walked up to Russell talking trash, and got punched in the mouth :lol1:! What's up for debate is what happened after that! Crawford's wording it like he got suckerpunched, and the guys stopped him from responding, a classic "let me at him!!" story :lol1:! I'm not buying that, he got clocked, it happens :lol1:!
So you think he got clocked and GRJ stood there and he just didn't do nothing?
COULD be since I wasn't there but that don't sound right to me, I can't imagine any fighter not tryna get that back
This is the fight game, not a tickling contest, Fury wanted to carry on so I don’t see what the issue is tbh.
I notice you got a picture of Fury on your profile there so not sure if your comment is just because it's about Fury because Klitschko wanted to continue against Lewis and Granados wanted to continue against Garcia, if you think the ref should have let those go on too then I guess you just don't want there to be a ref at all but there is one and since he's in there it isn't just to call the end of the rounds, he's there to ensure as best he can that the fighter's stay safe, don't get me wrong, Howard Foster stopping George Groves was a joke, but the cuts over Fury's eye were too severe imo
No. I do symphatise with the smaller heavyweights around 210-220 having to fight someone who is 265 but splitting the division just reduces the available competition and dilutes the prestige of the heavyweight division I think.
GRJ's getting stopped if that happens. There's zero reason for bud to be fighting GRJ, he's got a legacy to carve out and it can't be done fighting Russell over 8 so I wanna see him concentrate on trying to unify the division
I haven't rewtached it since I saw it live but the cuts Fury sustained were such that he should have been withdrawn and Wallin declared the winner since a punch caused it.
If Wallin suffered the exact same cuts he would have been out of there immediately and so what we saw was favouritism and the money machine on full power behind Fury.
The Fury that prepared for the Wilder rematch would destroy Wallin.
Because Keef wants the easier fight. Which would be Crawford.
If ESJ and Bud do get it on me and you gotta put something down, I got a hundred that says he's the best in the world at 147
Prime Mike. I don't think Fury could live with the pace, Mike's ability to slip and weave his way to his opponents chest means he gets inside often and when he does there's plenty of body for him to attack. An uppercut on his way out of a clinch sends Fury crashing to the canvas in a manner like the smaller Steve Cunningham did.
The thing is I do always seem to pick against Fury and he keeps shutting me up, I saw no way he was going to beat Klitschko or Wilder the first time round (which I think he did) and even in the rematch I picked Wilder to get him outta there so I wouldn't argue with anyone picking Fury vs Mike but I got Mike by TKO late
Early Fury wasn't that good and he underestimated Cunningham. Fully motivated Fury would just lean on Tyson and KO him in late rounds.
LOL well "leaning on" him ain't boxing. If it's a leaning contest sure Fury for the W but I don't think he's quick enough or is fit enough to stop or evade the onslaught, if the referee is gonna let him lean on him all night then there could be a problem, he could get bitten
Floyd did in order to go from PBF to MM and today I think AJ would at this point, I understand the purse he agreed with Fury is 50/50. Historical PPV numbers and gate revenue clearly indicate that AJ is the A side
Who can blame him?
He can't get Santa Cruz, Davis, Mares...
What is he supposed to do?
Yeah I hear that, they been ducking him for years, especially Leo
Based on WHAT???
- Almost being taken the full distance by a cripple
- Having to fake a hand injury to get an advantage
- Tossing a low blow because he can't spark the chin of a 'glass jaw'
- Going on DAZN and verbally ducking his biggest threat
- Getting two-pieced, wobbled and dropped by a guy nobody knows
Which of those is your justification for why you rate this dude? Remember, you said AT 147 - which means none of his past crap matters.
It does matter, I'm not saying his resume at 147 is the best but I believe him to be the best but he can't get an opportunity to prove it to the world because Al Haymon's playing silly buggars and pretending that the WBO isn't a legitimate sanctioning body just because they don't have the champion on a contract. But if for instance I say that bud has the best ring IQ of the current top welterweights, I'm allowed to base that on what he's shown in fights at lower divisions because the weight class doesn't matter when analysing that, or if I say he's got the most heart or the best athleticism, if he's shown that at 135 or 140 that's good enough.
But even if Bud had just moved up to 147 and was taking on ESJ immediately I'd still be picking him and challenging anyone who was picking ESJ to have a wager with me.
Actually when he did move up he destroyed the guy who had just beaten Pacman but that fight's not on your list I see and he hit Khan on the leg by accident and Khan saw an opportunity to hit the exits and took it rather than stay and get knocked out.
Don't really want to see that but since the PBC boys don't wanna talk sense it'll have to do I guess.
The Brook that fought ESJ is a stiff test for Crawford but at this stage Brook's getting stopped against the ropes, that is if he don't remain in his corner between rounds instead though I don't think he would.
Crawford by TKO inside 10 but hopefully it's Pacman instead so fingers crossed.
That is what I am talking about. Fury was dominant man in that fight regardless the cut. That`s why it wasn`t stopped.
I hear you but I don't think that should form any part of the decision making process for the referee. Remember when Richard Steele stopped Taylor with SECONDS to go in the 12th? It wasn't his job to check how much time was left in the round and I don't think the referee or doctor should consider anything else other than where is the cut and how bad is it, remember, Fury was cut early on, it was the first half of the fight if I remember rightly so there was no way to claim he was dominating or would continue to dominate for the remainder of the fight, he could of went blind and then the same referee who is being praised for not stopping it would be the victim of all kinds of hate mail.
Yeah I don't believe he believes he can beat AJ in a rematch but I think the odds are closer now than they were when they fought. Getting knocked out I think has dampened his self-belief to the point where I probably believe in him more than he does vs AJ. I wouldn't be picking Whyte but I think he would be even more competitive and he could spring the upset.
I can't think of a heavyweight who beats Fury today right now
No bad fights on the card at all including this one, Mansouri showed a lot of heart, I was more impressed with him even though he lost, let's get the Conway vs Cheeseman rematch on I say
That’s not how it works. Canelo is the Franchise Champ and has fought at 160-175. It means GBP’s request can easily be justified. Besides, step aside fees are nothing new to the game. GGG took them for Cotto vs Canelo and then Canelo vs Khan. Why wouldn’t Yildirim take a step aside per tradition? Yildirim would be taking the biggest payday off his life just off a step aside fee! Lol
You're right, that's not how it works, unfortunately. That's how it is meant to work though, the Franchise champ title is BS and he's got it at 160 anyway.
Yildrim would probably take the money if he's guaranteed a shot at the winner but what about the guy at #2? When is he gonna get his shot?
Canelo should go fight Charlo, as soon as Charlo became his mandatory they invented this Franchise champ crap
You've never watched the women I listed if you think that's how they fight.
Women's boxing has 2 minute rounds and 10 round title fights. If they were fighting 12 x 3 minutes there would be a lot more stoppages.
Yep I enjoy women's boxing too and would like 12x3 also, especially to warrant the pay increases for them, 20 mins of actions is considerably less than 36 so the pay needs to reflect that. I'll be real with you, the Dillian Whyte vs Alexander Povetkin card only became PPV worthy for me when they added Taylor vs Persoon II to it, now I'll buy it if I'm indoors next Sat, heck if they made that top of the bill I wouldn't complain, the first one was a *******, who you got in the rematch?
I understand that it's still a title defense but Angulo never would've gotten a title shot if Benavidez didn't select him as an opponent so I don't think the belt should still be on the line for him.
No no no Angulo done the work and made weight, he shouldn't be punished because the champ failed to do the same, he did what he was contracted to do so the belt must be on the line, the opportunity can't just be taken from him at the last minute like that, that's extremely unjust
Since she's never lost and has had 36 or 37 fights it's a bit hard to argue with that comment as so far so good. And with McCaskill coming up to meet her yeah I'm gonna have to agree, I got Braekhus on points tomorrow night but it should be a good fight.
Hes human bro
Ah cool thanks man, he's pumping out threads like a robot so I was wondering but I signed up yesterday but need some help still so do you know if he's admin then I can send a PM or do you know who is admin around here?
I'm not a mod, PB32 just said that to clog up my inbox. BostonGuy is an actual mod so he can help. PB32 is a compulsive liar.
Oh OK sorry about that I already sent you the PM too so just ignore it. Thanks
You fans still don’t get the politics. Lol. (I’m not making fun of you, just in general). GBP doesn’t like to work with Al Haymon. GBP easily persuaded Team Canelo of the ramification of purse bids or splits when Haymon is involved.
I don’t even understand the hype for Yildirim. This guy got blasted by Eubank Jr. The reason why the current situation is better is because it removes or puts Haymon in check. Now GBP and Matchroom can get the nod. HOWEVER, Eddie Hearn could easily play devils advocate with the WBC and BEG that Smith vs Yildirim should happen. It’s an attempt to put Canelo on the sideline and HOPEFULLY give Matchroom all the belts except for Plant’s. It means Matchroom can play more hardball with GBP of Canelo doesn’t get the WBC.
These are GBP works in the process, not Canelo. GBP knows that Hearn would want Smith vs BJS for the WBC, WBA, and WBO. THEN Canelo would be in the picture.
It’s all in the hands one the WBC board. The only thing Canelo got going is the Franchise status having repped them for years, AND because Canelo has fought from 160-175, so its good business and good for the sport.
Yeah and they got GBP leaning on them and Canelo throwing a hissy fit when he don't get his way and since he's Mexican like the President and the no.1 attraction in the sport, the WBC will do whatever it takes to keep him happy whilst screwing everyone else in the process. I don't care whether it's Yildrim or Joe Bloggs who is #1 in the rankings, I'm just looking to see people who have been quietly working hard to get themselves into the rankings and paying their sanctioning fees in the meantime, get their just deserts :fing02:
That's a valid point. I just hate seeing a talented young champion like Benavidez lose his title over missing weight for a stay-busy fight but at the end of the day 100% of the blame belongs on Benavidez and his team. He should've been more disciplined or notified his team well in advance, so they could make it a catch weight fight
I do sympathise somewhat with DB, because he's never missed before and he gave legitimate reasons why it was different this time, this time there was a difference, the pandemic and he says that the restrictions affected his access to what he needs to train. Someone floated the idea of giving fighters a 2lb buffer zone for fights occurring out of the lockdown but of course once you announce that they won't even try to make weight, they'll just aim for weight limit + 2lbs.
Damn this guy has lost the belt twice now and is still undefeated, that'll make a strange headline years from now, will have people wondering how did that happen.
I'm sure they are but they're not ranked by the WBC so they shouldn't leapfrog fighters who have been working their way into position otherwise what's the point in having rankings right?
I'm tired of the belts circulating among a privileged few who just move up and down and fight immediately for the titles.
Yildrim's number 1 and Abdugofurov's number 2 and silver champ, that's who should be fighting for the vacant strap next.
That fight was a draw. The rule was and always should be: You need to dominate the champ to take their belts. Rematch!
Yeah 95-95 for me too. If I didn't score round by round though and just watched it and then at the end was asked who won I'd probably have said McCaskill, you know those fights that you're not scoring so you just take a overrall view of it rather than a breakdown. A bit like the Courtenay vs Ball fight the week before, I didn't score that one but felt as if Courtenay probably did enough to nick it
I only know cos he commented on one of my threads years ago
Bostonguy is a mod if that helps but hes a prick
Prob will ban you
Damn, I don't know if I need that much help lol
