Happiest:
Bernard Hopkins TKOing Tito Trinidad in 12 after completely shutting him out..
Saddest:
Roy Jones Jr. getting stopped in the 2nd round by Antonio Tarver.
Roy didnt get stopped he got KTFO...bwa ha ha ha ha ha ha ha :D
Did you know back in Jack Johnsons day the whites made a search for the White Heavyweight Championship of the world cuz they were so disgusted that Jack Johnson was Champ. That is where the term "Great White Hope" originated from. Look it up in boxing history you'll see this is a FACT. The thing is I dont hear none of you complaining about that now do I.
in case you guys havent read this article already here is the juicy part!
The paper quotes an unnamed “friend” of Tyson as saying, “Basically, he’s become the modern-day Sonny Liston. He’s living off other people’s dimes. He’s saying to these shady wannabe promoters, ‘OK, I’ll fight for you. But you have to pay for my hotel rooms, take my friends out on shopping sprees.’ He’s playing with the wrong people. Eventually, it’s gonna come back to him.” And that “Mike’s been abusing cocaine. He’s been acting very erratically. He needs help.”
At 38, Tyson is the age Liston was when he died in mysterious circumstances in Las Vegas. (Liston was found dead in early 1971 but the precise date of his death, like its cause, is not certain.) Liston had 50 professional wins, the same number Tyson has now, though Tyson has more by knockout (44) than Liston did (39). However, with his loss to Danny Williams earlier this year, Tyson also has more losses (5) than Liston did (4).
well I hope the cocain abuse is true. Man im sick of Tyson and hope he finally make it to hell. I have no sympathy for a man that blew through half a billion beans.
At least Mike aint goin out like your punk azz hero Tommy "The Dukey" Morrisson......bwa ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha haha ha hahahahaha ha hah hahhahahhahha :D
Tszyu will have his hands full with Floyd just like Floyd will with him but i think it would be an amazing fight. Floyd ain't never met anyone with the power of Tszyu and the worst thing for Floyd is that Tszyu is fast with it. It will be a good fight for Floyd because we would see whether he can hang with the 140 guys. In this fight Floyd will obviously get tagged by Tszyu, when he does will he cope or fall? Tszyu boxing skills wise isn't as good as Floyd and his hope of vicotry is a stoppage, Floyd on the other hand needs to outbox and move. I don't want to make a call on this because as we all know, power ain't everything.
That is my point power aint everything. Time after time throughout history we have seen power punchers fall to a slick style boxer. From Ali Vs. Foreman, Ali Vs. Liston, Holyfield Vs. Tyson, Leonard Vs. Duran II, Whitaker Vs. Chavez, Hopkins Vs. Trinidad. The list goes on and on. I just see it in the styles Mayweather is too defensively slick for Tszyu to land anything solid wnough for a KO therefore Tszyu will outpoint him and win by UD. Not a KO a UD.
The thing is that PBF's chin did not look that great in his first fight at 140 lbs.
Well that was his FIRST fight at 140...as he settles in he will get more used to the weight....also from the Vince Phillips fight I would say that Tszyu chin didnt look so great. :D
God please forgive me for responding to this ignorant. So I guess Jerry Rice ain't really the best receiver to ever play the game 'cause he can't seem to even get off the line and doesn't even get to start these days, I wonder why. Larry Donald is also better than Holyfield ever was.
Give me a freakin break Chavez wasnt that old when he got beat by Oscar. Fighters today fight well into thier 40's. Look at Hopkins.
I know that most here, hate Merchant because of his derrogatory comments and offensive questions, but can you recall a comment that you liked, agreed with, or thought it was creative. I got one. It was when Trinidad faced Whitaker and Merchant said that Pernell was the kind of boxer who could make Michelle Pfeiffer look bad. I thought it was an almost funny line.
Merchant is the reason why hbo commentating team is the best. Without him they would be boring.
I sure hope this fight happens. Mayweather is probably too skilled defensively for Tszyu.
I believe he is. He needs to try to outbox him and not trade power shots, that's the mistake that Mitchell and Judah made. You do not trade blows with a heavy hitter like Tsyzu. You counter punch him and make him miss you with his shots all night long. Mayweather is too smart for him. Too smart.
yeah and chavez was about 50yrs in that fight, this guy won like his 1st 90 fights, and against great comp. chavez was the man. if you beleive that, then u may also beleive the ALI and Holyfield also sucked because they lost to younger guys when they got old
Man, please Chavez aint even in Holyfield and Ali's class dont mention that little punk in the same breath as these greats. Chavez went undefeated in his first 90 cuz he fought a lot of Tijuana cab drivers anyway. Once again Oscar is a punk too but he sure did beat Chavez like a red headed step child not once but TWICE. :D
pbf will win this fight but i dont know if its going to be easy
It surely wont be easy, it will be the toughest man that Mayweather has faced with out a doubt. But if he sticks to the game plan of trying to outpoint him and not trade with him---then he can do it---but yeah it will be hard.
Tszyu has never fought a man with as great defensive skills as Mayweather. When he gets in the ring with Maywaether he will find that he cannot catch Mayweather, and round after round PBF will build up a lead. Tsyu in the last 5 rounds will know he is behind, in desperation with go for the knock out. When a fighter fights indesperation he is bound to make mistakes. Tsyzu will make mistakes and get countered severely for the rest of the fight. Mayweather wins wide UD :D
i agree mayweather will defeat tszyu without a doubt
I cant wait for this fight to happen. This will be a HUGE fight. Prolly the biggest non heavyweight PPV sales. Hopefully Tszyu dont move up to 147. :D
most of you people are real losers, what the hell is karma anyway? is this a boxing site or a site for people with no lives? its not that deep people, discuss boxing or find another way to spend your time, i read alot more than i post and most of the conversations are about points and karma, very strange
I agree 100% with you. I am new here I also post on other sites and I've never seen anything more loserly than the homosexual karma point system here. I am here to talk boxing not win some populariity contest which is what that loserly karma point system is.
hahahaha hey that fool known as nasthandspeed sounds like someone from another board. da fuk are u guys talkin about go check the Rings greatest fighters i think that chavez was ranked ahead of holyfield and de la hoya and they know more about boxing then u.
How very observant my Mexican homeboy. Yes Nasty Handspeed is known in other boards as well, for speaking his mind and not being a nut hugger. Fact is Chavez got beat by Whitaker and the judges robbed Whitaker by calling it a draw. Chavez got beat fair and square by Frankie Randall then cried like a little beeyotch in the ring about it. Then got his azz beat like a red headed step child by that pretty boy Oscar DeLahoya not once but TWICE. And last but not least I never seen a man get beat so bad like how Tsyzu whooped the hell out of Chavez, it was in humane what Tszyu was doing to him it looked like someone beating a stray dog. They should have called the animal abuse shelter for the beating Tszyu gave Chavez. So now all these things including the fact that Chavez beat a lot of bums to fatten up his record. I would say DeLahoya has more credibility than that punk Chavez. And dont forget Oscar whooped his azz TWICE. :D
I would believe you if he wasn't fighting a complete bum in his next fight.
it dont really matter. its the styles I'm looking at. Mayweather has the style to defeat Tsyzu no matter who he fights next.
its funny how you guys keep saying oh yeah Chavez would have worked on Oscars body and beat him down.....What?.....did you not see the Oscar fights in which he thouroughly beat dwon Chavez into embarrassment? Yall are living in fantasy land. Hellooo....Oscar whooped that punk azz twice.
Well hopefully Holyfield retires for his own good and safety. I dont wanna see a legend get hurt in the ring. He is already slurring his words in interviews.
They are both punk azz mark beeyotchs but DeLaHoya is better. First of all Oscar whooped that azz twice bloodied up that little punk azz Chavez. Not only that Chavez got all those gift decisions-like when Whitaker whooped his azz. Then the little ho would cry when he lost and not accept the defeat like against Frankie Randall. Not to mention that fight with Tszyu....holy batwings batman....LOL...Tsyzu beat that little punk into oblivion I was waiting for that little punk Chavez to say "no mas" but he was getting beat like a stray dog by Tsyzu anyway. So hell yeah Oscar deserves more credit than that nothin but hype punk Chavez.
past and present
1)Mike Tyson - in the late 80's the scariest of all time.black trunks, black shoes no socks, fade haircut, and a violent blood lust. And would just come right at you swinging.
2)Marvelous Marvin Hagler - Had a menacing bald head(when shaved heads were not the norm yet, back in the 80's)and devil's goatee. Imagine this man coming at you all night.
3)Thomas "The Hitman" Hearns - Tall and gangly looking with a Gerri curl from the projects and everyone knew what kind of violence was inside that right hand.
4)Bernard "The Executioner" Hopkins - Enters the ring in Executioners uniform shows zero emotion and stares right into the opponents eyes while he thouroughly outboxes you and you cant do a damn thing about it. Ask Tito.
5)The YOUNG George Foreman -When Foreman was young he would enter the ring and just give a death stare to his opponent without blinking. You wanna see examples try to get old tapes of when he fought Frazier and when he fought Ali - Ali was talking smack to Foreman right before the fight and Foreman just stared into Ali's eyes without saying a word like he was gonna kill him.
Really? I would expect something more like this.

Mitchell and Judah are no where near the fighter Mayweather is. Vince Phillips can tell you that. LOL :D
Yup, Mayweather has to stick with a gameplan to win this matchup. I don't think he wants to stand and trade with Kostya, as is is wont to do when his hands are not hurting.
make no mistake if PBF does not follow a gameplan and decides to trade with Tszyu he is dead man walking. Tszyu is the most dangerous puncher in that division right now. the thing is I dont think Mayweather is dumb enough to trade with him. therefore Mayweather wins by UD
Mayweather uses the shoulder roll defense technique and it is incredibly hard to hit a guy who uses that technique, unless you have Roy Jones handspeed which Tszyu does not have. I dont think Tsyzu will be able to land a solid shot on PBF much like the way Chavez could not land one on Whitaker. If you cant hit a guy and he is countering you-you will get ouitpointed. :D
People talk about Mayweather never facing anyone as talented as Tsyzu, but let's look at it on the flip side. Name one right-hander who was in the same league as Mayweather who Tszyu faced. Yes, it's true, neither has ever faced a fighter like each other, however, In my opinion Mayweather's speed & boxing skills are superior to Kostya's ring cutting/boxing skills.. People also like to look at Tszyu as if he's invincible...this guy can be hurt, and I think mayweather can put a hurting on him late, not by trading, but by counter-punching, and picking punches well..
I agree, people like to act like the Vince Philiips fight dont exist....Tszyu can be hurt folks watch the Phillips fight. People that say Mayweather is over rated haven't looked at the record of people he beat. He beat more than a few legends in the making. Both dudes have not faced anyone like each other. So true,so true.
