I didn't see the Martinez fight yet but I did notice that Chavez, as great as he is does seem to have a somewhat low work rate in most of his fights. Am I in the minority or no?
I think the result may've been karma, as well. A lot of people believe Julio sr. should've lost to Meldrick Taylor and the fight should not have been stopped. We had a very similar scenerio in this fight but Sergio got the win. I'm sure if Taylor saw this fight he'd have gotten quite emotional. It was very compelling...
From what I've seen of Chad Dawson, the Klits fights are generally more entertaining IMO. And Chad is always televised. I don't have anything against Dawson, just saying...
Do us a favor and show some proof of this or stop making this ridiculous claim. Where there from has nothing to do with it. Larry Holmes wasn't charismatic and fought in some stinkers....and was an American that other Americans didn't find that way either. Explain that. Better yet, just find another excuse.
Exactly my point.. Larry's fights were always televised by not only HBO but several other networks, too. Even though many of his bouts were not all that exciting. So some of you think that if Holmes was from Europe HBO may have dropped him?
I had recently ordered a boxed set featuring Larry Holmes fights. Most of those were in the '80's. Some were exciting but a lot weren't. But, every one of Larry's fights were televised primarily because he was the heavyweight champ of the world...
I've never played the first FN but it looked really good from what I saw. R2 too much Haymaker BS.. R3 on PSP is simply a good boxing game although I'm not crazy about the parrying. It makes it look unrealistic because a boxer does not drop both hands in real life after being parried. The console version doesn't have enough knockdown animations to make for a great sim experience.. FNR4 is perhaps the best of the lot but I've been having a lot of fun with Champion, lately. It has a more arcadey feel to it especially Story mode. Fighting Frost and those far-fetched situations(you must knock a guy down twice to progress) is sorta ridiculous but I enjoyed it in the same way as Punch Out! back in the day.. Also, I'm not able to put combinations together the way I like a lot of the time. There is a lag when I try Mike's Right to the body followed by right uppercut or his Right Body Hook Left to the jaw combo.. I'm sure the next one will be better. Lets hope for another Victorious Boxers, too..
I appeared to me that Pacman won. However, I do see a pro-pac bias with the crowd and with HBO. Whenever Pac landed a glancing blow the crowd would roar. Whenever Bradly landed clean you could hear a pin drop. Let's not forget that. Pac shoulda won but Bradly wasn't shut out.
