The reason being is that when Pac was on his impressive winning streaks, beating Barrera, Marquez, knocking out Morales, Hatton, de la Hoya etc, nobody was accusing him of anything. Morales won that fight i believe, that also wasnt Morales at his best either because that was after his 3 wars with Barrera. Beristain did help Marquez,hes the best trainer in the game. Mannys a smart fighter but when it comes to overall ring smarts, Marquez is smarter than Pac, which is why he was able to win the majority of their fights. I understand Pacquiao may be your favorite fighter, but saying hes a smarter fighter than Marquez is false.

Anybody else find the parallels just a little funny? On one side you have Floyd going on about having an undefeated record and uses it to show his superiority over fighters who have losses. Then on the other side you have Michael Strahan and Joe Buck going on about the undefeated Patriots losing to the Giants who started off terribly.

well according to Pacquiao himself on an interview, Marquez wasn't smart enough against Floyd. He said something like "you can't fight like that against Mayweather, all slow and wait for counter" etc etc. This is my point about Pac going to be SMARTER than Marquez when he fights Floyd. He'll be on Floyd constantly. And those little things like countering off a punch, of a missed punch, recognizing if an opponent is hurt, or tired, Pac knows all of that stuff. Just because he's got alot of offense (throws many punches) don't mean he's not thinking in there lol...

thats more of having a gameplan(where Roach comes in) than actually being smart. A smart fighter is someone who can neutralize someones best punch and use it to their advantage,knowing exactly what combination to throw at the precise time, even when tired or hurt able to steal and win rounds to get back in the fight. Juan Manuel isnt that hard a puncher isnt that fast and doesnt have the greatest reflexes but for what he has, he is able to make the best of and still become a hall of fame fighter and the end of his career. Take Mannys speed and power away, and you have nothing. This is why i refer to Marquez as the smarter fighter. Manny is a more gifted fighter who is a trainers dream because he always follows his trainers advice, which is why he can stick to a gameplan

An example of Pac being smart was mid round, he got cut by a headbutt (Morales fight I believe) and it was ruled a punch. Pac tried to KO Morales in that same round (threw god knows how many punches) knowing he could lose by stoppages. Trust me, Pac is smart and it'll show against Floyd.
Definitely not a good idea to throw it as MUCH. Floyd can throw it against slow fighters like Marquez. Throw that against Pac and be ready to eat counters. Pac is a smart fighter.

well, we all know how Floyd fights. He clinches, then elbows opponents to make room, the throw a punch, and all of that. He will try to do that and Roach and Pac better be prepared once it happens.

what I've noticed about all those left hook knockdowns from Floyd, the opponents got surprised by the punch because they got countered OR the opponent was just standing there mesmerized by the boxing clinic they're geting.
I don't think Floyd will hurt Pac with his left hook even if it lands flush because there's gonna be so much activity (punching) from Pac in this fight he won't be surprised by anything coming from Floyd.
I'ma put it this way. Ask Floyd to not throw his left hook (just for argument sake) for this fight. No chance in hell he wins. You think he hurts Manny pop shotting his way all night with his right hand, also knowing that same hand is brittle as hell?
