He beat Dirrell over 3 rounds with headgear and big gloves, a format that should hugely favor Dirrell. Who wins, Floyd or Durrell?
Hell most though Floyd got beat by Castillo in Floyd's prime and at his best weight. Did jlc have fast hands?
Dumb post...:gives:
Boxing is my sport, but mma and wwf/wwe i love as well.... im more of an old school guy doe and i must say that WCW was the best in pro wrestling! NWO 4 LIFE!!!
I'd question that.
His first conceivable legitimate championship win was over Chris Byrd for the WBO strap in 2000. Lennox Lewis was still the dominant heavyweight on the planet until his retirement in 2003.
Vitali won the WBC belt in 2004 over Corrie Saunders who had already knocked Wladimir out. Just before Vitali won that strap Wladimir was knocked out again by Lamont Brewster.
Vitali was boxing's dominant heavyweight, you could argue right until he retired in 2012 (we could question whether his brother surpassed him in the twilight of that reign).
It's not out of hand then to state that Wladimir has only been the dominant boxer in his division for the last two years.
Sam peters almost knocked him out as well, emanuelle got him and turned him totally around for the best..wlad now hits and holds.. i dont think that would be good enough to beat the heavyweights of the 90's especially with the style he implements now.. it sure sure is good enough to beat the hws of today doe. I think vitali is a better fighter imo
Wladimir wold have belted up most of the 90's HW's just the same as his own opponents. They were even a bit smaller (just saying) and didn't have any more spectacular records really.
That was a very tough era and they were good opponents too. But prime Wladimir is above their level.
Holyfield was too small to beat WK I reckon and not that hard to hit. Tyson could have gotten Wlad in the opening rounds, that definitely might have happened. Lennox could have beaten him. Other than that who else would put a stop to Wlad? Or Vitali for that matter?
Guys don't want to admit it, I loved the 90's too, it was my favourite era. But most of the reasoning for 90's over 00's/10's is based on the fact it was a Western dominated era and now it definitely isn't.
Many hard hitting 90's boxers would have stood great punchers chance against Wlad as did his own opponents too, there'd be probably an upset or 2 just the same. That's true!
I just dont see that...lewis would of beat him, bowe, foreman, douglas who fought tyson maybe even holyfield a prime one at that...to me i think wlad would have had hard times with guys like golota, morrison, shultz, moorer to be honest he would win these fights but would be tossups against the first group of fighters i mentioned... anybody ever hear of henry akinwande??
is that suppose to change anything i said?
He fights south paw exclusively so regardless of being a natural or a converted south paw, he will throw a "right" hook.
he will also throw a "left" hook,
you learn something new everyday huh!
he can throw a left/right hook from any stance so what are you arguing over?
some poster said that collazo was going to ko khan with a left hook or sumthing to that effect, and he tried to correct the guy like the poster was wrong and he was right..
He said with" a right hook, then went on to say you learn something new everyday RIGHT",like collazo cant throw or ko khan wit a left hook...
I go uni man, so i only have 6 fights, but ive training for two ish years.
Btw i take the calling you kid part back. You box so much respect.
its all good man,i used to box back in the days now iam 30 years old,i was thinking about a comeback and fighting in the masters division, but went against it...right now i just focus on my 11 year old son who just got his amatuer record going almost 3 years ago,hes 7-2 with 3 kos....but anyways good luck in the future, you chose a tough sport to pursue,it takes alot of hardwork and dedication, boxing is the toughest sport in the world, more so then mma and wrestling..
i box as an amateur, so keep the lessons to your self kid.
Yes he can throw a hook from the opposite hand.
The joke is khan is prone to left hooks from orthodox fighters. In collazo's case it is the right. Also he koed ortiz from the right, so people are now convinced. Thats the context i was implying.
so did i kid,6 years to be exact..what region are you from?
There was a user on here whos avi had a picture of floyd and manny together at an airport or something like that, dont know how real the photo was but i remember seeing it.
I know pac was to be matched with valero until he did all that crazy sh1t..the raheem win wasnt going to get in the way of the next 2 morales fights, but that would have been a good test...soto made a case for a pac fight but lost to guzman.... so idk if pac ducked them, or that maybe he was advised not to fight these guys...all i know is i would have loved to see all three fights, especially valero!
Gong is like that special ed kid in school that would stand with a special ed teacher while she acted as a hall monitor and it made the kid think he was the hall monitor too.
:lol1::lol1::lol1:
That would be amazing. It would give The One, which I think has been one of the top 5 PPV events of the last decade, a run for its money.
The tyson vs holyfield 1 card was better then the one,but the decade,im thinking barrera vs juarez 2 was better then the one also...theres probly a few more,i would say mayweather vs canelo would be number 4 or 5
