The fact the ropes were that loose in a top class fight is a joke man, just as the ref didn't know If they were fighting under WBA (I think) or Californian rules......I agree that Cintron is a pussy for just lying there. If you're not hurt or a little winded you at least try and get up and and show you need some time but want to carry on... for him to lay there and just take whatever some randomn doctor is telling him is lame.
The biggest losers in this sorry episode is us the fans and boxing as a sport
Why are they saying it was a great fight until he fell out the ring?? It was lame - Cintron moved well and made Williams punch air but come on the only action was when Cintron buckled Williams with the right hand.
I think they should have a rematch and anyone who bought a ticket should be allowed in to watch it for free, because the stadium was half empty anyway.
Bad night for the sport
I don't hate Paulie. I gave him alot of respect for what he came out and said post Diaz 1 and think he talks the truth alot of the time which is refreshing in the sport but at the same time he's a bit of dickhead as well. Massively insecure IMO who talks himself into fights (which is a good business sense) but last night he got served.......He should retire IMO and become a co commentator
I agree - I think his team would realise it's too much of risk and not in the long term interest of Angulo who will IMO continue to be fed fairly one dimensional fighters to build up his following and his KO's - at least for another 3 fights........Martinez would dance around and pick him off at will, he's too much of athlete for Angulo
Pirog looked good but was was more shocking was how bad Jacobs looked. Pirog must of been so surprised at how easy it was and you could see how he grew in confidence with his facial gestures and shaking of his head.
I'm glad he won though, he looked like he wanted it more and has hard to endure a tougher, less privileged road to get the title shot........Pirog winning was good for boxing and for us fans
I'm a big Froch fan as well but I got the feeling his was intimidated by the size of Kessler which is why are breaking through his guard with some solid punches, he backed off far to often and allow Kessler to re-roup and come back at him. Abe has a solid, high guard and has a very intimidating style which, the longer the fight goes on Abe will gradually wear Froch down and stop him late imo. But Froch has a chance If he really takes it to Abraham and doesn't back off when he's got his man rattled like he did vs Kessler.
I think Froch needs to impose himself on Kessler early, make Kessler start to question that he really is on the slide. Fighting at home, with a huge crowd behind Kessler, Froch needs to stamp his authority early If he has a chance IMO, otherwise he could see the rounds slide away waiting to get that KO and with Kesslers chin it may not come....
I'm not sure why people keep saying Haye is ducking the Klits? How? He's come out and said time and time again he wants to fight them next BU himself and Booth are not mugs, they 're going to want decent money and the truth is he deserves it now. He's stock has risen significantly in the UK since the Valuev and Ruiz fights and he is a 'world' champion. Plus this isn't some over hyped American bum, he unified the cruiser weight division, went into the Lions den vs Mormeck and is a skilled fighter.
Also notice one thing - where is all this talk coming from? Audleys camp because Haye knows in the long run there is more money out of fighting the Klits than facing Audley.... He's got at least two fights vs the Klits (maybe more if he wins or pushes them far).
Valero's a ****ing scumbag - He thinks he's a tough guy and then firstly beats up and then kills his wife - Lock him up and throw away the key, boxing doesn't need pussies like him.
You've got to laugh at Paulie for having a go at Mitchell for talking about him and trying to use him to gain publicity when that is EXACTLY what Paulie was doing when the Pac man drug scandal broke and he was desperate to get a fight with Mayweather once it fell through. The ironic thing is, is that in boxing this is all part of the game just by talking opens up opportunities and pay days.......Shit hardly anyone was talking about Mitchell before this
Surely Hayes 'gone dark' as they are negotiating the details for a fight with a Klitsch?...There's going dark and there's trying to do a deal which makes the most money for you and your team.
