Well the title pretty much gives it away.
But seriously I agree he does look like a decent fighter, and will probably go on to defend his newly "won" title many times.
But he's still only had 17 fights, none of them against anyone half decent.
Shall we not wait untill he say fights a slightly more experience pro before we start declaring his greatness.
A fight with Pavlik would probably be a great move if they can get it all arranged but untill then lets keep our feet (and hopefully he can keep his feet) firmly on the ground.
Pirog looked good but was was more shocking was how bad Jacobs looked. Pirog must of been so surprised at how easy it was and you could see how he grew in confidence with his facial gestures and shaking of his head.
I'm glad he won though, he looked like he wanted it more and has hard to endure a tougher, less privileged road to get the title shot........Pirog winning was good for boxing and for us fans
I thought Pavlik is moving to 168 because he finds it hard to make 160?
I think Jack Loew said if they get the right fight at 160 they will stay and bring in a nutrisionist to make it less agony
That's boxing for you, you are your last fight, last 2-3 fight tops.
He looked really promising, but that was just another prospect as opponent and he was behind on the scorecards (which was reasonable), so it's a far cry from those "Pirog would humiliate Paul Williams (or any other top fighter in the division" threads...
What ya said their is pretty much it but hes a very awkard style about him has pop in his punch and has good stamina could possibly be trouble but the Martinezs Pavliks and Williams are up their for a reason
Aye it's a shame really.
He does look like quite a good fighter, he'll now probably get chucked in against someone a little to experienced for him and it will show.
Then those same people that love him now, will be the same people rating him just another hype job.
